The thing I don't like about this video is that you took the screen off a perfectly working machine. This kind of projects shine when the screen is broken.
Pretty cool concept. Apple needs to go in this direction with a hybrid device. Like Microsoft did with the Surface. Mac and iPad OS on the same device depending on how you need to use it. Detachable screen for tablet, attached screen for Mac. Been wanting this for years.
Awesome video! I also managed to find a 2016 Macbook 12 inch. It will arrive later this week. Any tips you can share for removing the screen or videos you watched that were helpful? Thanks!
amazing video.....didn't know you can use broken display laptop in these many ways.... can you please let us know how did you get the video running on external display? i tried but it doesn't give video on external display....
Do you have issues booting. I found that I would need to keep the screen closed or it wouldn’t give me the Apple logo on startup. Would really like to know if you found that to be an issue?
Try reseting the PRAM or SMC as in this article. It worked after that. But you there are some screen / system management chip issues that are unque to each year/make of MacBook. Sorry for the delayed response.. this is just a hobby channel of mine for now. www.avast.com/c-reset-mac-pram-smc
@@matusmodern3586 can it be a portable setup with an ipad? Suppose you don’t have external screen available, will mac connect to an ipad just over HDMI? I have mac m1air with dead screen and thinking about buying ipad pro 2021 12.9
This concept is great but you kinda chose the worst one to do it on. If the laptop is low power like the 12 inch MacBooks you should just keep it normal. Now, a slabtop M3 Max MacBook pro would be a good idea. Its basically a mac studio but with a keyboard and trackpad built in. So instead of BYOKMD its BYOD (display).
