I find it matters most in the scramble game, newer players just haven't been in every concievable situation yet.

If you have any fundamental knowledge previous basic throwing mechanics, and understand basic physics behind how a disc flies. Then you can pick up disc golf pretty fast. I’ve played 2 years and have shot into 1000 rated rounds. Played big boy golf for a decade now and only been in the high 70s twice (still a bit above par). Making it very easy for other athletes to pick up rather than going to another sport. I believe this shows that time played in disc golf is close to a null factor in determining a players skill. If you are a stinky little boo boo bear that’s ok. Sports are supposed to be fun

@@Irgevwvrheioakwh let us consider a scenario, so you can understand that your anecdote is a poor rebuttal. Let’s take two equally great athletes to play disc golf. One of them already played for 5 years, and the other never played. We both know the athlete with more experience and time played will win. So, let me repeat myself… it absolutely DOES matter. However. It is not the only determining factor. This isn’t controversial. Now, since you wanted to attack me, I’ll address that, too. Well within a year of playing disc golf, I was already throwing over ‘400 feet consistently. I never have field days, and I never practice any aspect of my game. I just go out and play for fun. I still play the hardest local courses at par or under par. If I cared to practice and train, I’d be even better. I’d wager that you take the sport much more seriously than me, and I’d still come to your course and embarrass you.

Maybe fix it. Life would be easier

We have a number of new guys grinding multiple rounds every day, it pays off. Meanwhile as an oldtimer with a collection of injuries I have to space out my rounds to manage.

Ya I think that 1-year guy is somebody who casually played before and then over the last year took it very seriously. His form and execution was better than 90% of dudes playing 2-3 years.

Add the collective of what was bet across all players is what I meant.
