Today we are hitting a 12 minute Real-time Ab Workout That Won't Hurt Your Neck. Neck pains and strains is something I hear often about. This is often from people either doing the wrong exercises while already feeling an injury
I hear a lot of people say to me about getting neck pains when doing ab workout. Often from forms of crunches or doing the exercises incorrectly.
So In this workout we are going to do a workout without any crunches that should leave you sore (in a god way) for days

Just out of curiosity, how often should I do these exercises and also how often will it take me to gain results? I'm obviously not expecting it to happen overnight but I'm just curious to know

Exactly the ab workout I’ve been looking for, thank you! I am currently healing neck strain due to a headstand fall. My core has gotten so weak due to my inability to do workouts. These exercises don’t hurt my neck and I feel them working. Thank you so much!

Whew, thanks for this. Slept weird on my shoulder then tried to do crunches and couldn't even sit up from horrible pain. This is perfect!

If you are born with a very high arch in your back......use a roller or rolled up pillow under your neck to get the arch to disappear. I am in major pain. My lower back has seized up from trying to do this workout 3 times in 1 week. I told my chiropractor what happened and he told me about a roller or pillow. I am icing and moving very carefully and slowly to try to release my seized up back!

and....don't let your legs go as far down to the ground as he does becuase that will also be too hard on anyone born with a high curved back.

Hi there I've just done a work out Sunday just gone and ended up with pain base of skull. If I swallow it sends pain to base of neck. If I press on larynx it hurts and sends pain to base of skull. Its also hurt my scapula area my shoulder joint. My base of back too. Been sat worried. The workout included v. Sits and ab rollouts with press-up

Great video. Not sure what I’m doing wrong but I feel it more in my legs and hips then my abs. My legs were burning more than my abs.

I have had a 3 cervical disk fusion and a half knee replacement so cant realy excersise, this great to be able to get fitter. I was very fit, I was able to do jobs moving furniture, 2000 pnd pallets, anything severley physical so it was quite a change for me. This was great to watch, I will be using it Thank You.

recently started doing mild exercises for my back, but after doing it for 3 days I got a major pain on the back of my head, figured it was cause of the abs exercises which I wasn't used to that overexerted my neck. I will do these instead now.

Thank you for this video - so so helpful as I have a bad neck and having physio - just trying to find exercises I can do consistently without hurting myself. I love exercising daily just need a routine that isn’t going to make it worse while still improving on my fitness and toning.

If you focus and squeeze your abs while doing this exercise, using them to do the work, it should help. A way you can make sure you are using your abs is to put a rolled up shirt underneath your hips. Push your hips into the ground. Make sure you can not pull the shirt from underneath you while doing laying down an exercises. That means you are engaging your abs and not back muscles. Learned that trick from Rebecca Louise.

@@kittypencils4463 I also like to put my hands a bit under my bum to monitor that my lower back doesn't go up. But I used to feel this in my legs as well sometimes you just have to build the strength in your legs to be able to lift them if that makes sense.

You need to also train your legs or other body parts like arms and chest especially back so that the burning will focus lastly on your abdominals

I have a arch in my lower back. Feel a lot of strain there doing these exercises. Should I place something under the arch for support? I love the exercises 2 next surgeries 2c-7 replaced 3 shoulder surgeries all in less then 12months. No core strength at all. Need to feel human again. Any advice on the lower back issue would be appreciated.

Can I do this with a sprained neck? I have been gaining weight after a car wreck but my ligaments havent healed. I really hate losing all my progress waiting. :(

I would just be careful Rebecca. You will know yourself how your neck is feeling. If you're trying even this workout and feel any pains I would stop. I know injuries can be on of the most frustrating things, but the last thing you want to do is exercise too early and too hard and injure yourself again and be back to square one. It would be worth while checking with a physiotherapist or specialist to see where you're at in your recovery first before returning to exercise :-)

NO! You might be born with high arch in your back. You need to use a roller under your neck or at least a rolled up pillow. THis will cause the arch to lie down like he mentions in the video.
