The thing is, unless you do the work to track to the boss, you won't know where it is until someone else starts banishing it. So if your team works quickly, it might be more worth it to just kill and banish the boss while everyone else is in the middle of nowhere.

Did you not see how long that timer was taking? It took about a minute to get to a quarter turn. 4 min is more than enough time to have the entire neighborhood to start teabagging your dead body.

Meta always changes, there’s no proper way to play an online game. Some people like to camp bosses, some like to hunt other players and focus on PvP, some like to loot and just run around, playing in a slow pace. I’m glad people dont play games like they ”should” be played according to you.

Stefan Berry if the game is desinged well it will work allright, you should expect to be ambushed near the boss but you can also just hunt other players or loot and stay away from boss, you wont win but you would survive, thatd be a good way to level up before attempting a win, also if theres permadeath you are meant to be dying, think of it like the permadeath dayz had or games of that style, you lose your inventory and all progress but the start of a new character is also pretty fun and fast since all you need is some loot

The dev literally just mentioned that there are numerous ways to play this game. They aren't making a "one way to play" game.

You still have to figure out where the boss is lol. Even when another team gets to it, you can't figure out where it is unless you hear the fight or get the clues.

after few games the map will be boring, if there is only a few houses it will be the same same over and over again. Also the part where you dont have a character, and plays one of 4 characters, no level up or grinding. I dont think this is going to be a hit. I would rather have a map like GR:W, Graphics like Crysis, gameplay like GTA5, and cars and steering like Forza and FPS CS

temujin 301 devs probably wish they could as well, but something made them change it. Perhaps focus group testing or something related to evolve and the problems that game faced. I think them changing means they couldn't make original idea work for some reason.

@@kadeawesome7775 camping isn't that bad but it is part of the game and its mechanics. PATIENCE is king in most situations. "Cheap moves", or as how you see it, is gameplay mechanic and is just part of outplaying your opponent but you can easily avoid these cheap moves.

Well, the original game that was planned Hunt: The Gilded Age went into development hell because of Crytek's restructuring back in 2014 and so Crytek USA, the studio responsible for the game shut down. It moved back to the main Crytek studio and this is now what we have. It went from a 4 player co-op monster hunting game to basically a pvp bounty hunter game with monsters. With how Crytek has been struggling in the past years, we'll see what happens with the game in the end.

They will most likely make it a random location that isn't known until the bounty has been claimed and each match will probably have a timer so if everyone wants to camp for 30 minutes only for nothing to happen then thats on them.

SuperDuper Lemon I agree, also I think it’s movement and controls need to be polished. The look is very jerky hopefully they fix that. It feels reminiscent of the Crysis games and that was one major problem I had with them. It doesn’t look terribly unique either, just a different setting, feels more like a PvE RESI 7.

Nah Crytek kept becoming boring since it's not German, still hope they make a version of Crysis in which they focus more on MP like Hunter mode, but with MP maps like in the theme of Crysis 1, 2, 3 and WW2

Pvp is the only thing interesting in games for me. Do you have fun killing bots in a multiplayer game?? Is it exciting to be playing against AI?. Call me old fashioned but taking other people's loot and hearing then whining is very fun for me.

I also like taking other people's loots and hearing them whining, but having a perma-death in a game is a different story, especially If I encountered some player who is a very expert gamer on shooting games, it would be fun for me even if my character died, but it wouldn't be fun anymore because the character that you used to make fun out of people will be dead, *forever*

bakersmileyface well for one, it's an Alpha and they are just showing off the game, two it has to be balance for the two intended players to be able to win against the AI with a decent consistency. Especially since having the boss leave both players on deaths door would leave them in an un-winnable situation when other players arive.

Yeah but if you give the boss the ability to leave it's base and chase after gunfire then it's likely that the boss will be wounded before two players get there unless there have been no engagements prior to that. But the likelihood that there have been no pvp before then are pretty low if people are chasing a moving target since a moving target funnels pursuers.

Because otherwise you're not going to find the boss? The boss will move around freely. If it hears gunfire it will run towards that gunfire. So it gives an incentive for players to avoid pvp. It gives players something to hunt. Players aren't going to want to fire to draw the boss to them because other players might be on top of them before the boss is. It means players that are hunting are going to want to use whatever tactical advantage they can in order to take down that boss and stay alive well enough to fight off enemy players. At least that's the way it's running in my mind. Feel free to point out any flaws in it

Basically what he is saying is that this doesn't quite have the feeling of a true hunt. You follow some clues and then follow them to a static environment where you know the monster will be. Players will camp there area without going inside because this would be more effective than just racing to defeat the boss. Also I fell that the boss should be somewhat more difficult to kill. The 5 minute shootout seems disappointing considering how much time it takes to find the monster. I feel you should really be rewarded with a challenging boss. The boss should almost have that will to survive the encounter and not just sit there waiting to die because that doesn't quite give you the wanting of a hunter. but there's a lot of potential conceptually so best of luck to them.

Gamer Freek Would have been amazing if this was Monster Hunter with a grim and gun focused twist. Then on top of it, if players didn't want to help each other, they could do so with balance risk and reward for enemy squad of hunters.

How is this even remotely similar to PUBG?

Hannibal Burgers Battle Royale with a squad that can revive you; both downed you're out. Single life no respawn. Spawn in random location on huge map. Look and battle for loot. Do your best to go into a certain zone to get the prize, and then be the last ones standing. I got heavy PUBG and Fortnite vibes watching this.

In PUBG and Fortnite, you can start anywhere u want (in the line of the plane) so its not random. In Gears of War you had to save your buddy in the same way (but basically in any coop game). You really don't want to battle in that game... you want to kill your object and leave the area as soon as you can. It's not last man standing, its more like a capture the flag. Single life no respawn means your character is dead, you'll lose all his stuff and trait. You have to hire a new lvl 1 (in some case, you can hire experienced hunters too) hunter for your next games and you have to buy him items before the game. When you die in PUBG, you dont lose your stuff, you dont have starting weapon so it's kinda different.

napalm777 I have an idea to balance this. The longer you spend hiding, the more attracted to your location that mobs are. So you can't stay in one place for too long without eventually revealing your location.

that wholesale defeats the purpose of even having the ability to hide lol, They could do other things to fix it im sure if they really wanted too. But it might infringe on their ideas a bit.

Make it so banishing the creature gets you rewards even if you die and make it worth substantially less if you take it from killing someone else. That way it forces people to be proactive to get best rewards. You can still take the low risk play but you get a low reward from it. You could also make it so that the bounty you get from killing another team decreases the further away from the banish point they got (or how long they hold onto it). that way you prevent people camping the map exits and force them to hunt down the monster killers if they want to get a decent haul at the end.

Playing it alpha, I have fought the boss monster multiple times, taking little to no damage, and extracted, you just have to be strategic, which I assume is too much for most of you.

Just join a server with a group of your discord friends againsts pubs and take turns with the sacrifice points. ez.

You unlock items as your progress. You don't get them for free. ( unless it is a level gift? )You have to purchase them. Like most tiered leveling. The hunter may die but your gameplay progress carries on.

My guess is it spawns at the farthest possible point from all spawned groups. Since spawning is random, you don't know who spawned where, and I think the largest number of players is 8 (4 groups) It is possible, albeit unlikely to find it on the first location search.

Silentium pubg doesn't have zombies, you're probably thinking of h1z1, a "totally" original and not-at-all generic zombie/pvp survival game.

Dæmon please don't talk about a game that you have no idea about. It does have a zombie mode, it's just not completely implemented yet - therefore not available for now. But it's been in the game for a long time. (FYI, I have 1000+ hours)

Silentium you're flat out lying, there's no official support or confirmation of any zombie mode available for PUBG, the closest thing to that is the lame streamer game where 98 players using just their fists attack 3 players who can loot items.

That still doesn't hurt the game from having another type of way to enjoy it. Having more options to play the way you want to play isn't a bad thing and would actually keep the game less predictable.

tenchikid80, but it splits the player base. Instead of having 100 people playing the pvp version of the game. You might only have 20 in pve only mode and 20 in the pvp mode and the other 60 left because the matchmaking took to long for either mode. Then the other 40 get sick of it too and stop playing as well. See it happen all the time for games like these.

If they have a good one that allows you to slip into games relatively quickly then I don't see how this game would not benefit from another game mode. You can see games like Rainbow Six Siege, Destiny 2, and The Division as examples of good IP's that have a PvE and PvP mode and there's no problem getting into a game. And as the way they're designed your progression counts for both modes no matter which one you play. You're still making progress toward something as a whole no matter if you're making your character stronger or unlocking new characters and weapons for both modes regardless of which one you choose to play that given hour or day. This game looks like something fresh enough to where if they do it correctly and it's fun to play it could have a great player base and both scenes could flourish, it's all up to the devs though. But to say "People want to fight other players" is making a general statement for the player base and holds no truth. That was probably the original vision of the devs but you don't know what the player base wants. That seems like a personal wish, but as I keep elaborating more ways to play isn't a bad thing.

Yeah I feel sorry for the people who think the game is going to improve from this point. This is the best It will be most likely, unless you have a God PC. Early Access founders packs INCOMING.
