The Maiden's Tower most likely was Zoroastrian since the ancient Persians have always had a penchant for astrology and astronomy. The deep bowl at the top was most likely a pool that held water to view the night sky without having to look up the entire time and strain your neck, it also makes it easier to chart the movement of planets and constellations with fixed markers around the rim.
Turkey is geographically suited as a crossroads for human migrations between the Far East, Near East and Western civilizations. The Kaymakli caves were probably created to shelter large groups of people -- including women and children -- from a constant flow of invading armies and wanna-be conquerors. Entrances are hidden, narrow and winding, designed so the caves can only be entered by one person at a time and making them vulnerable to residents' attacks. It was estimated that as few as 10 adults armed with boiling oil and flame could hold off thousands of invaders.
Due to the global warming, it might be just the ticket to go back underground…There are hidden caverns in many places, already set up for us..so lets get on with it :)
12 mysterious places scientists still can't explain??? The title sounds more spooky than what you actually get to see and hear about. Especially since a few of these sites were built in the last century and the ONLY thing those scientists can't explain is WHY the builder decided to build them or WHY he/she built certain things in them. Heck, I've asked that question when looking at houses for rent/sale!
I like the way you think. May I go so far as to ask why we don't have moreTransparency about our ancient civilization is elization and what we truly know about our Earth and world?
Labuan was using it as a shot tower and the Chimney, is use for making musket ball, by dropping hot lead from the top of the tower into a barrel of water. The stages marks at different level provide the markers for the different size of lead shot (balls of lead).
They covered the iron pillar in another video not too long ago. Also, interest is subjective. For example, I don't find the iron pillar particularly interesting.
So also the innumerable temple architecture of India is intriguing in many ways, mysterious, mind boggling n yet has a definitive purpose written all over it.
I find it concerning that thousands of years later old ruins are still restricted and areas are forbidden to the public, however certain people in power are allowed access, why is knowledge still suppressed if we are supposedly living in an enlightened world?
I like how they never find dead bodies inside of those stone chambers, but keep on insisting that those for burial chambers. To me it looks more like some technology we don't understand yet .
Cave dwellings are common throughout the Cappadocia region of Turkey. They make a lot of sense in an area with such extremes of cold and hot weather. There are several cave hotels you can stay in.
I’ve never been so frustrated with a video I’ve enjoyed this much and don’t misunderstand it still gets an enthusiastic thumbs up so this isn’t a complaint. First the farmer that built the Italian theater was not a farmer, he was a sculptor but he came back to the farm when his father was ill. A tiny nit I admit but I had to pick it and unfortunately it made me more interested in its background and other than the builders name the 10 or so websites I saw dedicated to this place not one has any more details. It was a cursory search but I find it odd that every place I looked had zero construction details. Does it change the beauty no, but what seems like a fairytale, to me at least, seems unnecessary. If anyone can point me in the direction of the details it would be great. My main issue was the mysterious place whose builder IS STILL ALIVE. What the hell. Great video you found a new somewhat loud (kidding, mostly) subscriber.
Weird there is an insert shot of Padar Island when the narration is about the mystery chimney in Labuan Island. Padar Island is in Flores, Indonesia. Labuan is Malaysia's federal district on Borneo part. Probably the editor was confused between Labuan, Malaysia and Labuan Bajo, Indonesia.
We have a chimney like that out here in AZ - it sits on the top of the hill next to the highway. Almost no one knows why it was built, but less than 100 years ago, there was supposed to be a smelter there. But after signing a contract for the chimney to be built, the company decided to move the smelter. The company that was going to built the chimney refused to cancel and built it anyway - on a hill, not attached to any building, and it's never been used. Probably the same sort of thing happened with the mystery chimney in this video.
We haven't lost our building skills infact we have become much better at it. How many domed buildings from ancient times do you see, how many skyscrapers or the remains of skyscrapers do you see, and how many wooden huts do people in first world countries live in. Just because the technique is forgotten doesn't make us stupid.
Bro your so close minded! an for lack of a better word DUMB! There is so much wrong with what you just said. 1st off what we build now days is credited to modern machinery's, not just hands on work. We still can't even replicate what these ancestor's of ours did in the past, even with our modern tech. Especially the giant ones carved from a single piece of granite. With designs an edges so smooth an flawless you would need a fucking Lazer. This video isn't what I'm talking about either. If you compared the strongest tallest sky scrappers of today an put them through the same time loop, that the structures im referring to have gone through. There wouldn't be nothing left of them. Think about all the natural disasters, earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, fires An the ancient structures are still completely intact with minimal damage after thousands of years. That's what is incredible about them. Words are pathetic in trying to explain the pure majestic knowledge these people had. If you watch one of thee earlier videos showing the unexplained structures an temples around the world from thousands of years ago that still stand through today's times an will continue to stand long after were gone an all of the sky scrappers are gone then you will keep your dumb thoughts to yourself. Honestly it's close minded fools like you that are ruining today's society and only believe what mainstream media tells them. I feel sorry for you man.
You guys should really put the names of the stuff you're listing in the video or at least in the description. Sarski Kurgen? How is that spelled exactly so I can google it... am I supposed to be able to understand accurately a croacian name??
@@craigpettit1986 Thank you. I did find it in this case because I wasn't far off but in other cases I couldn't and it's a shame because this stuff is very interesting.
True, i have noticed how people are really negative nowdays. And toward indians People are way to stereotypical and abusive for no reason. Even if there is a wholesome video and any mention of India. Instant hate stereotypical comment which might have nothing to do with truth.
Yooooooooo, i live in A Coruña, thanks for mentioning my city, also the tower of hercules has a great history behind if you want to make a vid about it
It's funny that the video starts with saying "we still can't explain" the structures, but then have an example of a lone man building an open air theater that showed just how creative a determined man can be.
The "Hindus" didn't invade Armenia in the 4th century. It was the Persians. In fact, according to google India has never invaded or conquered any country. They do dispute the border with Pakistan.
I’m sure that some of them are printed, but not very many. The cave structures appear to have been carved with modern tunneling machines, but not many. One man with a hammer and chisel can accomplish a lot
We have a near identical ruined building to that of the Pennsylvania "Speakeasy". It is out in the middle of a forested camping/equestrian area and the state is declaring it a historical site. It is said to be an old hunting lodge.
I HAVE BEEN TO THE ROCK TEMPLE WITH 40 ROOMS the 25th room is now being rented by a Subway sandwich shop I bought a foot-long tuna fish sandwich it was very salty and had thick white mayonnaise the monk behind the counter had an Evil Grin the only English he spoke was to say special sauce.
I don't think that the Mohave megaphone is a century old .The metal strips are welded together, welding is a discovery made by the Germans around the 40s... until then the used metallic nails or bolts.i believe than it's there for about 20-30 years tops
I suggest that some portion of these structures reflect the sacrifice of numerous humans holding slave status…forced to chisel stone and dangle in hazard to construct fastenings and foundations that was lethal yet unfelt by some merciless taskmasters….
Theres alot lost in ancient civilisation historythat we dont know, this people might have had out space invasion with beings of super intelligence and technology, just saying though.
@@bryanfuller4465 You probably were using two brains at the time. Sometimes we have no idea when a second brain interacts when trying to make a point. There’s a brain within our brains that tries to trick our main brain during thought processes. It’s called the basolateral amygdala.
The maidens tower in azerbaijan is a parsi tower of peace, where the dead bodys of those who passed away were placed for the vultures to consume. That's what that tower is.
The chimney doesn't look like it was used for fire, and it looks similar to structures in other videos that as described as cooling devices. There is what looks like the rectangular foundation of a building at the bottom o of it. The brick structure is awfully tall, however.

the menhirs with holes in it should have a plaque explaining its just a labour of art.. just to guide civillasations in the future..they will go crazy to explain what it is if not.
I feel like all these tourist spots needed a break hence corona.... i get people are curious, but the amount of people walking through certain parts;.... some buildings were'nt made for that capacity
They say that life's a learning game. Now this video has excellent camera work but the articulated commentary though so gentle, stretches things out a bit too much There are also other utube videos we would like to experience!
Change the title. There is nothing about questions scientists cannot answer. It is only about buildings that either history has forgotten or historians cannot agree on.
The commentator says that in Armenia there was a conflict between Christians and Hindus --the section for the obelisk of Adzun. Hindus in Armenia seems to be a mistake!! Please state the source for the statement.
One thing about archaeologists, media and these kind of social media type videos, that really bothers me is the assumption and repeat of the original assumptions, that historical people did not have any advancements, were ignorant and/or incapable of completing heavy tasks without modern machinery!!! The Bible isn't ONLY a religious book, it is also a documentation of historical FACTS as they were seen and/or understood at the time and in the context of the at the time spoken language/word. It is also not the ONLY historical record that goes back so far. Many nations on the ASIAN continent have documents that go back as far as well and that corroborate one another. In the time line of that history it has been seen and documented many times, where knowledge rises and falls as well as things happening naturally all around, wars, regions, governments of various types rise and fall and it has been seen that it all rises and falls whether dismally or fantastically, and that is why the bible says, everything under the sun has been and will be again. This includes versions of technology and plans of men. There are what some consider primitive tools, machines, technology that are as well built, in many cases better built, longer lasting and do the job as well if not better than the equivalent today!!!
Exactly. Time and time again we see architecture that stands the test of time, seems to defy the laws of physics, need no modern man’s touch to retrofit. Across the world pyramids and various monoliths were built and many shared many similarities in how they were built. The ancient people could levitate stone heavier than our modern equipment is capable of moving. They also possessed some widespread knowledge that seems to remain misunderstood by most people today - aligning these building with the stars. It’s too bad that we lost the technology (or that it’s been completely suppressed).
