hey friend! fellow stylist here, and Im sorry in advance for info dumping, but on the off chance that you might also find it fascinating: I learned that our hair can sometimes seem like it gets used to shampoos because of the relationship between cleansers and ingredients that can build up on the hair. essentially a new shampoo feels like it's doing an amazing job at the start of the bottle and then feels underwhelming halfway through because the new cleanser is removing build up from the last brand but then over time begins to deposit its own build up. this is much more of an issue with products that use cheap ingredients and is yet another reason it is worthwhile to invest in quality. PS thank you for sharing your hair wisdom and passion for the industry. your art and your perspective are so appreciated

Beauty standards are created to make us feel like we're not good enough so that we feel that we need help, and presto changeo, the solution is the product.. For that reason, the acceptable look is unachievable, and most of us don't see ourselves represented and as beautiful. If all of the models have shiny, wavy or straight hair, how can someone with coily hair feel beautiful and that they belong? I love the message you present because it means we're all beautiful and we can decide for ourselves what our standards for beauty are.
How much heat protecc spray do I need every time? How do i efficiently use it on long hair? Just a spritz on the outer hairs? I've got a lot of hair that doesn't get misted if I do that so I tend to saturate and comb the heat spray through first... and it feels wasteful though
I personally like to dry my hair with a blow dryer first then style, and blow dry to the way that I want it. And always prep with products. Check out some tutorials too!

Sorry queen!! Not everything is right for everyone. Also make sure you’re using the correct amount. The more prosperous the more product and moisture you may need to define your curls! She does have 5,000 5 star reviews on Sephora tho and I use her almost daily but everything isn’t right for everyone ❤️
