I stopped watching Television three years ago.. and I am 28 years old.. Trust me one of the best decisions of my life has been to stop watching television..has helped me become more centered and calm..
Great to see how many Younger people are so Bright and Wise beyond their years. I've watched several of your video's now and really impressed - (Just wish the internet had been around in 'my' 20's ) Info these days seems to slide right through between my ears and back out into the ether :-)
Hi, I just wanted to mention something I did back in the day. I was in a long term physiological abusive relationship and after it ended I had no one at all to help me get through the aftermath. There were some times I wanted to take my life. I made the decision to start exercising again but it wasn't enough of a distraction and my mind ran wild causing me to stop. So since I didn't have anyone there to help me, I went online (before youtube took off) and copied a bunch of inspirational quotes I found encouraging and printed them off. I cut them up and stuck them on the wall where I could see them while I worked out, and so everytime I wanted to stop because of my thoughts or even when my body didn't want to go on. I made myself read the quotes. I didn't even have to read them all to get going again! So I even typed then into my phone to read when I was out and about, and needed that reminder. Hope this comment helps someone! :)
Vagery Vegan Positive affirmations really work. I used to say affirmations that had to do with goals. They don’t work as well as affirmations for building character and social skills. Glad you stayed positive!
I'm currently in the early stages of re-launching a wellness-focused, money management blog which I expect will bridge into self-publishing a book and I just came across your youtube channel. I've already put a lot of what you're touching on into practice and it's great to see others are moving in the same direction and with great success. Thanks for all of your useful information. I've happily subscribed to your channel!
This video has resonated a lot with me. Just last night, I printed out several pages of weekly diary so that I can organise my days. Then I see this video. 😍 Awesome!
Im obsessed with your videos atm. I sometimes listen through headphones whilst doing my work. Love everything you say i wish i was so mature in my 20s. Definately want to start reading more xx
You really have to be good at setting and achieving your goals...setting incremental goals or milestones to drive progress toward the larger one. Great video!
Great and refreshing set of tips. I've felt like I've been in a slump of my progress, definitely looking to start implementing some of these tips today. Thank you Gillian!
This video on topic of success right now you touch a couple key points that really could help me to bring my dreams and goals to the next level I truly appreciate this video especially coming in time when I needed the most thank you

Start investing early in your life. Pay yourself first. I have 9,200 shares of CIM. It pays .50 cents per share per quarter. I collected 4,600 dollars in dividends this month. Imagine if I would have started earlier in my life. I'm 55 now and started buying these shares a few years ago. Your biggest treasure when you're young is time. Start now.
If we’re watching RU-vid, we are watching tv. It will s the modern television with millions of programs. I am addicted! I also know that spending so many hours watching others is wasting my precious time.
On a regular basis, no. I've got a couple shows that I watch when a new episode comes out on Hulu, but that's about it. :) ...Aside from maybe once a year when I accidentally get sucked into a Netflix series and lose a week of my life. 8/
Isnt watching youtube like watching TV? No, it isnt. RU-vid can actually be educative. Agree 100% about eating and sport! Eating healthy is so much more important: you can life without sport, but you cannot survive on eating crap without hurting yourself badly. Step#7: lets hang out :-) (can I write you a letter?). I love to make plans and schedule stuff! I even schedule my wife times! :-) step#12 blew my brain. haha. no, I hate stuff. I like to be independent of "stuff". I prefer experiences! Thanks for the nice video!
Great content! I love the part about sharing your ideas with others. You're right, it is unique. You got one thing wrong though. Harry Potter changed my life! Good fiction is good because it reflects fundamental truths about reality and Human Nature. Just like you would take the time to admire beautiful art or music, it is important to expose yourself to well-made literature and stories.
Hi Gillian. I'm 36 and struggling. I don't have a great CV, I'm pretty inept when it comes to making money. I was looking at starting a social media consultancy here in the UK, but was put off by such established competition. Any tips? I feel like I've failed in life! I'm on linked in but only see others really established doing well and I'm left struggling as a local councillor. I really need to find ways of making money so i don't lose my home in time. Just feel a bit stuck for ideas and you seem to be doing so well, so young too! Take care x
Hey Malcolm! Thanks for your question! I actually have a few suggestions for you: 1) Just start. You're never going to hit on an idea that's "perfect" -- and an imperfect idea that you actually act on will take you way further than the perfect idea that you never figure out. 2) Competition is a non-issue. People hire who they know, like, and trust. Start that social media consultancy, and then start *networking* and *advertising.* The more connections you make, the more easily you'll be able to get clients. 3) Everyone starts at zero. Every business started with no customers. Nearly every business starts with competition established. 4) You're only 36. You've got over *50 years* to become successful. 5) You can be successful right now if you choose to win one day at a time. 6) You say you're "pretty inept at making money." As long as you believe that, it will be true. Cheesy though it may be you need to start believing in yourself. If you don't, who will?
