No free medical care, not enough paid vacation, no paid mother leave, people living to work instead of working to live, too many guns and freedom to use them..
You lost me at the beginning, when you claimed people outside the USA think the USA is great. I live in Australia and don't know of anybody who actually believes that!!
By what metrics are the Australians measuring "Greatness"..Economically, militarilly, politically, technologically and culturally, the USA is still the most influencial country on the planet...Which countries do the Australians think surpass the USA in these areas?? Thanks...
@@logician3641 You forgot about the "average" people. The USA has the most expensive and least effective health care system in the "developed" world. You people work longer hours than every other OECD country, for the lowest minimum wage. Your people have the LEAST paid holidays, on average, than other similar countries, and is the ONLY supposedly civilised country with NO guaranteed paid maternity leave! You have a FAR lower life expectancy than developed countries, have MORE people incarcerated, and more police shootings. School shootings are unknown outside your country, and you people can get arrested for walking across the road. Drinking age 21?, and in most states women have NO control over their bodies after Roe Vs Wade.
@@al6491 The USA is also the worlds number one desired destination for immigrants and has been for a long time. The reason is simple, the USA is STILL the one place on planet earth where any human being can become whatever they want. So yes, most of what you are saying is true, but most people dont care. In the long run, most people dont care how many holidays or paid time you get off...The USA is about being a business owner and people around the world understand that success means that you have to work very hard for a very long period of time before you can achieve what you want. The USA has achieved more than any other country in history in part because of this. Again, if the USA was really as f*cked up as people make it out to be, than it would be FAR lower on the list of immigration destinations for people around the world...But instead its still number ONE!!!
@@logician3641 Yes, but where do these people come from? 30% of ALL immigrants to the USA come from Mexico, with the next popular countries being India, the Phillipines, China and Vietnam. The next most popular countries of destination comprise El Salvador, Cuba, Korea, the Dominican Republic and Guatamala!!!! So take note that people from DEVELOPED countries have absolutely NO interest in coming to your country! I am glad you raised the issue of wealth, and can you explain why this wealth is concentrated in a very small percentage of the population, and you have so much poverty and homelessness. The 10 countries with the highest median wealth in order are Australia, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Canada, France, Japan, UK, Singapore and Spain. What this means is that there are 160 million of your people poorer than the average person in those countries!!!
Your opening statement "To almost everybody living outside of the U.S. America is possibly the greatest country in the world" is absolutely not true. I do not think any western European will think that. This is what most U.S. citizens think without ever having travelled abroad. Btw the U.S. is not America. The U.S.A. is a country that is part of the American continent, this is if the Germans would call Germany Europe because they have the biggest economy. There are far more other inhabitants in the America's (already Brazil and Mexico together have more inhabitants than the U.S.) than U.S. citizens. Can anybody give me one thing in which the U.S. is the greatest - or let me rather say the best, as we say in the rest of the world - except for military spending and incarceration rate per capita and these are both things not to be proud of.
That statement sounded exactly like what a less travelled bubble head American will say. America's messy healthcare system alone is just enough to defeat that notion that it's the greatest. I haven't even gotten to the guns yet. Lol
You are 100% correct! Where do I begin? América is not a country or nation. Therefore, 'American' isn't a nationality or citizenship. Anyone who uses these 2 terms as such is due to ignorance, conceitedness, laziness, stubbornness, indoctrination, and/or arrogance! Furthermore, an American is from the Continent of América! The United States of América (U.S.A.) has a simple, basic, generic name that's easy to comprehend & not misinterpret. The United States of América (U.S.A.) simply means STATES, that are UNITED, on the Continent 'OF' AMÉRICA. Not América of the United States!!! There are 1+ billion Americans on the Continent of América. 330 million of them are from the U.S.A. How many identify as anything? There are identity crises going on here. Men turning into women & vice versa, etc. I would assume most people in América know América is not a country.
I live in Canada and I know America isn’t the greatest country in the world that would be Norway, only Americas think they’re so great when it is far from the truth, living with a shoe string budget, have insane medical prices and living in fear of being shot I’d hardly call that freedom plus the only people being heard in the states are the rich, the gun loving maniacs and the extremely leftists anyone else is just ignored.
probably the attitude of people. "it's not THAT bad." thats why things continue to get worse. thise sense of superiority has blinded them to all the problems they have.
As somebody who was thrown into the brutal and vicious gears of the American juvenile system for the traumas of childhood poverty, this video is so sadly true. Numbers do not lie. I dream of a country where people can have quality health care without crushing debt following Also, where extremism does not direct the mood of political sessions. With atrocious outcomes for all the people. That is a pretty fair hope.
Why hope America can get better? America's damnation is it can't change spiritually for the better, even Jesus Christ said that himself, that it the world will get worse and worse until it's destroyed then made new? Why might be the harm did to the Natives and others here is it's curse? Germany changed for the better as a nation, but spiritually America especially white America can't change spiritually. Because Hitler got his Idea for Mass M* from white America of the Natives and others and call themselves Nazis here to this day ?
In a democracy, people decide on how they choose to live beyond taxes. Human created systems of living are inherently flawed. Comparisons to smaller countries is peddling on a pipe dream? America is the third largest country and it is doing better than countries above it by number of people who call it their home - China and India?
How is size relevant at all regarding the issues raised in the video? What you imply is that US can only compare to second and third world countries: certainly not to developed countries.
The size of the US is a non argument. Your states have for a big part independent governing bodies. And those states are in size comparable to European countries. The US has simply made other choices and has a tendency to marginalize workers rights which erodes on those metrics. And corporate greed makes life difficult, like health care and educational costs. Tip: unionize and fight legal rights and higher minimal wage.
@@fredplat467 Just looking at your reply. Hence the delayed response. United States is the third largest population territory. Largest by a country mile amongst developed economies. Cast your thoughts to problems faced by larger as opposed to single kid families? One tries to compare Oranges to oranges?
Forgot to mention the electoral college system and states changing voting laws to keep the poor out. Voting in America should be one person, one vote like the rest of the world, also should be the lowest cost possible to the voters and close as possible their home.
