Kyle & Memphis came down to have a crack at a red stag. After some bad luck it all came together in the end. A well placed 500 meter shot had a very nice 12 pointer on the deck.
aside from the big stag, the bond you have with your clients, and the way you approach your hunting, I have to comment on the NZ Falcon (karearea) near the start and just after the bit where you talk about knocking over the stag. Amazing. I mistakenly thought they only lived in the South Island high country...until I saw this and looked it up. Rare to see. Great image, mate.
You can’t go wrong mate 👍 I had my thoughts on the thermal but now I’ve used one it’s another tool in ya bag it will find more animals than ya binoculars or spotlight 👍
why do you count the antlers twice? every other country only counts one side not both .. guess it makes the kill seem grander .. although a 6 pointer is pretty special in any country good on ya
Hi David Counting the points you mean? Sometimes they’re uneven so one side might only have four points and the other six for example. You will find most hunter’s will count the points on both sides in other countries. Thanks for watching 👍
@@OHINERATA then the rule of thumb for uneven discount what would have been if they were even and divide by 2 .. just semantics I guess .. we don't really go for trophy hunting up in Cana da where I hunt but a nice rackis a bonus any day .. keep up the great practice of subsisting off the land like me and mine have been doing for 3 generations so far ... take care
Now ya getting complicated lol. Just the number of points also the Douglas scoring is anther way of explaining how big the head is to someone that hasn’t seen it. There are a few different ways I think you guys use the SCI scoring system
