Best companion eye ever had! She was soooo SMART and people would always ask where she was "trained" because she was so proactive..but she was just naturally intuitive to me...losing her hurt my soul when she passed...
I had a white German Shep called Bella. She was long haired and had a wonderful temperament. Was soft as anything with the kids. Very protective but not aggressively so. Not much of a barker, would woof to say hello though. . And she was HUGE! As in a clear head size above an avarage male gsd, wasn't funwhen I got back from work and she tried bounding into my arms for a cuddle, I almost got squashed a few times. I couldn't show her as the UK KC considered her a freak ( even though I had KC papers for her.) I miss that old girl.
Crazy Brit Nasa Fan BRUH I have a 4 month old white German Shepard, she talks. Like I’m not kidding. She bowls and growls and groans and moans and when I say something she responds with a groan! 😂
My old Girl was exactly like yours, Big stupid looking thing with what my Father (R.I.P.) would call a Male head on her :o) She was very GENTLE with other animals and literally became a surrogate Mother for my Sister's Baby Daughter!. I called her Chrissy, and she would bound down the garden if my niece cried out, Fell or just appeared to be upset. I remember my Sister joking that she had a baby sitter on call 24/7. Like you I really miss her very much!
The best dog I ever shared my life with was a white shepherd. Calm and amazing with our children. She even let both our children chew on her ears when they were teething., all she did was lick them in the face when she had enough. RIP Lily
Our beautiful white German shepherd Alaska passed away on Sunday morning :-( . She was the most gorgeous soul, our hearts are completely broken and the pain is unreal. Everyone needs a white German shepherd in their lives :-)
1. they’re called White Swiss Shepherd 2. They shed SO MUCH, more than any other dog I’ve ever encountered. 3. They do manage to be alone very long without becoming destructive. 4. They’re very kind to people but are sceptical to other dogs, they get jealous often. 5. It’s very playful and wants to cuddle all the time. 6. Also they are up for everything. Your research is very bad, I’m sorry.
I have a white shepherd, she's a lazy girl though. She'll go on walks but sleeps most of the day away when at home. She's also a big softy, worst she'll do is bark at people even that is rare. She'll kill you with kisses
Lol will only alert you to an intruder. My white German shepherd broke through our porch window and ran the cable repairman up a light pole because he entered without notice or knocking. My sister came home from school and found him stuck up the pole with our shepherd laying at the bottom not letting him leave.
I had a beautiful Long haired white GSD called Phoebe she had the sweetest nature, when I lost her last October it broke my heart, I felt as if I had lost my soul mate. She had beautiful golden eyes that were full of expression, she was my 4th shepherd and while they were all incredibly loyal Pheebs was 110% loyal and I miss her :0(
@@prathampokhrel8944 I have a white German shepherd (she definitely is I've seen both of her parents and there both white gsd) and trust me she sheds a lottt but also how much they she'd can depend on time of year they shed much more in spring /summer and in autumn so right now for example her shedding is crazy but white gsd and gsd in general are known for being heavy shedders
My Sadie is extremely protective and trained to be intimidating on command. She has bit one person who was trying to get rowdy with me over an argument before too. People say the white ones aren't much of a "biting" security dog but she must have more of the traditional genes. Could also be that she's a rescue and understands not all people are nice. Loyal beyond belief and partially insane but extremely smart and caring. Even watches over the demonic little chihuahua mix twin sister of hers. Never had a dog quite as unique as a white shepherd
Berger Blanc Suisse is the Swiss Shepherd, which is naturally white, evolving from the Arctic and Nordic wolves. Donner von Wrathgrath in 1896 took the white coat gene out of the Swiss Shepherd, put it in the German Shepherd and bred two lines, a longer haired with an intense inner coat (that sheds like crazy) , and a shorter haired version. I've had 4, 3 short haired, one longer haired. Extremely intelligent. Once you train it, it will put all its faith in you and without question do anything you tell it to. In my humble opinion, the most loyal breed of dogs. Mine are faithful to a fault it seems. One was a rescue, his owner died when he was 4, for 6 1/2 yrs he acted like a guest in my house, didn't understand his owner had passed, thought his owner would walk back into his life at any time, so take this into account if you're thinking about getting one. In Germany a WGS owner passed away, every morning for 7 yrs that dog went to its owners grave to be with him. The herder instinct in them will kick in if you lose control of a situation, this leads to the Lassie moments where the dog saves the day, don't have room here to tell the stories of what mine have done, but another thing to factor in considering ownership. Also AKC hates them. You can only register a WGS with them, they will not accept it as a breed. It cannot even be in the building if an AKC sanctioned event is being held there. Hitler hated them too, first thing he signed when he came to power in 1933 was an order to extinguish all WGS. He had a black and tanned Shepherd named Blondie.
When I was a kid, my parents decided to breed our FANTASTIC, protective, loving and smart German Shepherd because she was just a perfect representation of the breed. They tried to match her with several sires over two heats, and she just flatly rejected potential suitors (all really great looking shepherds) by sitting down and not budging, lightly growling. Then, a man with a white German Shepherd named King came to the house. My mom was worried the dog was possibly albino--he had very pale golden eyes and pink paw pads--he was gorgeous and so gentle. Schatzi kept letting him sit closer and closer to her. He was THE ONE. My dad said, Schatzi would have rejected him if he wasn't perfect...she'd proven that. She had seven absolutely GORGEOUS puppies! My parents kept track of the pups into adulthood. Most were Black and Tan like she was, but one was the most spectacular shade of solid tan with white feet and a black nose--he became a champion herder. Two became guide dogs for the blind. The rest, happy, loving pets. I will ALWAYS admire white shepherds because of that amazing gentle temperment.
I remember my dog, BETHOVEN... he was great but I was younger and I don’t remember much. Unfortunately we moved and left him with my grandma. A couple of years later he was poisoned by some dumb kids in the neighborhood. I remember hearing of his death. I’ve wanted another dog like him. This time I would treasure him more.
My white shep doesn’t bark a lot He only barks when ppl knock on the door. He’s already protected our house by scaring an intruder off. He’s the most confident and brave dog I’ve over known he’s a cuddly boy he loves playing fetch and he is only friendly to the people I open the door to If someone enters the house without me opening the door for them my dog will go absolutely nuts running to the door barking and growling He’s awesome in every way I love him with all my heart and I’d protect him with my life
Monica Olszewski he did when he was around 4-6 months but after he lost a lot of hair for some reason so he doesn’t shed too much anymore He is 8 months and he is turning 9 months on the 27th. Also it really depends on what season it is like on summer he sheds a lot more and on winter he doesn’t shed too much and he gets really fluffy 😂 In between the seasons he sheds bc he’s changing his hair so he is prepared for the new weather. If you want to ask anything else you can have my dogs insta so we can talk
I had a white German shepherd growing up. He was wonderful...and very protective. He was 12 when we had to put him down as he had cancer and was suffering a great deal. He was especially gentle with children. My nephew, when he was a toddler, was not nice to him...he would take a hammer to his tail...or he try to poke at his eyes like Moe in the Three Stooges. Well, whenever my older brother came to the house with the infant, Duke would come into my room to avoid contact with him...he never attacked the child...always went to another room. He pretty much would let anyone into the house...but, leave the house was another story: you could never get out. When I would go to school in the winter, as I walked by him, he would take off one of my mittens, run through the house and hide it....missed my bus several times. Once my brother turned on the house alarm but didn't close the front door properly. The police came by and took Duke for a walk. They brought him back but they were not able to leave the house. Fortunately, my parents returned within the hour...they just sat and waited.
I have a shirt coated white German Shepard always on the watch he is aggressive is Someone is messing around and just play hitting someone like me and my friends he won’t but but he will if we fight he will break it up always looking out he window and very beautiful loves the frisbee to smart for his own good love my dog
Our white German Shepherd is very dominant! She is a very good guard dog and she sheds less then our other German Shepherds. Very loving.. but they get very jealous.
Love the video and just had to comment. Over the years I had many GSD's ranging from the standard black & tan to pure Black and finally a pure White Female. I found Chrissy (FWGSD) while living in the UK, I volunteered with the RSPCA, my duties were varied and were anything from cleaning out kennels to walking dogs. One day I arrived and while cleaning out the kennels I came across a 9 year old White German Shepherd, she was there for about two weeks at this point and had just been placed in the viewing kennel that day. On speaking with my supervisor, I was told she had poor behavior issues and was prone to attacking other animals and had attacked a handler. I spent the next week just popping in and sitting beside her kennel door, not speaking or making any kind of moves that might make her feel threatened. Next week I brought some chicken from home and would eat it again without talking or sudden moves. On week 3, I held out my hand and said very gently and soft spoken: Baby Girl, don't you like chicken? She refused!. I did the same thing daily for around 6 days, then on day 7 I turned up with my Girlfriend's West Highland White and sat feeding him (Angus). Following day same again, ONLY this time Chrissy (White Shepherd) let out a loud scream of frustration (at being left out). So I started feeding her as well!. The next week I went to my supervisor and asked to rescue the white Female German Shepherd and took her and Angus for a walk through the fields. I named her Chrissy because that scream of frustration from her sounded like Chrissy ( I know rather foolish). In her first few months in my life, my Sister had a baby Girl and Chrissy was immediately in Love with the new baby and would alert us every time the baby cried, fell or went off down the garden alone. Chrissy was with me for a further 5 years before passing over due to Cancer. She left a huge hole in our lives and even now almost 15 years on my (now) Teenage / Young Woman niece still talks about Chrissy as though both were still rambling around the garden together only yesterday.
I believe some of these views are false I have had two different white German Shepard’s. Neither of mine were or are skiddish mine are very loyal. And very protective there is no temperament differences between white or Black and Tan. Very alert very protective and certainly not shy or scared. In fact my second white Shepard I have now is a dominant ass hole. He stands his ground and is very protective and aggressive towards any threats
It’s worth it! If I knew how to weave I could’ve made blankets for the whole town in his four years of life but I wouldn’t trade one day of the aggravation of it because I love the goofy mutt so much.
Amazing dog. Love my Blondie! Pretty accurate, but mine doesn't bark except for a single warning bark when someone is at the door. Also, she sheds like crazy :(
Much more accurate than the "9 things..." video. I see many of these traits in out female white GSD. The computer voice is annoying and difficult to listen to. Please consider using a human.
Also fun fact 80% of people who see your white German shepherd will freak out and think it’s a wolf or coyote, even though they look nothing alike!! Also my dog is too smart to play fetch, because she’ll chase the ball but won’t bring it back. When she was a puppy, she howled sometimes it was the cutest thing ever
I have one, they do shed a lot, just like any other dog. If you don’t want dog hair then don’t get a dog. They are stunning, loyal and mines has a wonderful gentle nature. My German Shephard is not destructive and is not skiddish... I’d take these facts with a pinch of salt. He barks when someone is at the front door, but that’s it. The dog will do what it’s trained to do, if you don’t train out barking then yes it will bark, same as all other dogs. They are really intelligent, my dog can open doors by putting his nose under the handle. My dogs mother was actually bigger than him. Again, take this video with a pinch of salt.
I have a white shepherd named Kona.. he is as agrisive as my tan and black. And my sable. My first white Sheppard named Blizzard was the same vary protective. Vary miss understood
The GSD was the pitbull of neighborhoods when I was a kid followed by the Doberman followed by the bully breeds and Rottweilers later on. Seems like there's a lot more pure breeds in communities now. We saw just a handful of recognizable breeds back then and lots of mutts. Nobody back then spent much money on dogs and they didn't treat them like people either. You'd pet a dog but not all this hugging and kissing I see now and the dogs today are on the furniture and even sleep on the owners bed. I don't remember seeing that back then. We also didn't refer to grown dogs as puppies which I hear a lot these days. There was one white GSD that lived on our corner and the mailman made them put a special mailbox away from the house because he refused to walk onto their porch with their mail. All the GSD's in my neighborhood we're loud watchdog types that didn't seem to want to be played with. I do like them though and even owned one years later.
I have 3 white german shepherds 2 females and 1 male and boy they can eat a lot i spend about $300.00 DOLLARS PER MONTH on dog food since the average big bag of 22 /26 lbs costs $75.00 but its well worth lt because my pay back is lots of kisses and tons of love and truck loads of sugar that i get from these monckeys that i am probably diabetic by now .
@@eaglesmiguel2872 do you understand what you read ? your personal comments only reflect the environment where you come from. I wrote that i have 3 shepards and not 2 as you have. I have 2 big males and 1 female and. If you want to give your dogs cheap food , that is on you.
Not sure you researched this very well at all ... I love my GSDs , my girl was a petite long haired blk and tan, we bred her once to a sable GSD , we had one sable pup, one white and the rest very dark with little tan or cream .2 girls 5 boys . The white boy turned out he didn't like kids much that he didn't know . He was very long coated, with very dense fur . Not a barker either . My friend took him, he was one of the largest pups. The largest being a very dark boy with cream hair at his bottom a pale tan on his legs , most blk and tan or sable shepherds will have the bird line above their eyebrows , unless they are too dark , all GSDs tend also to have a dome on their heads , it's not noticeable to see but you can feel it . The best dogs in my eyes.
Different name for the same breed. The German SV refuses to recognise a white dog as a GSD. To get it accepted by kennel clubs both for show and conformation it had to be made a separate breed. There’s nothing wrong with it apart from the color. That’s the only reason its banned in Germany.
So much incorrect info, I don’t know where to start. 1) They are the SAME breed. 2) As true with any dog, disposition depends on Pedegree and experience with owners. 3) It’s not WGS. It’s WGSD. I’d like to go further, but I would fry my brain and none of you would read till the end.
Most of the images are of white swiss shepherds. Is that the breed you are talking about? Because it is separate from white german shepherds. Albeit they did derive from GSD's, however they were bred on their own and developed into a different breed. Basically, they just have a different temperament (much less intense) and only white or yellow coat.
I want to mix a white German shepherd with an already white wolf. The German Shepherd looks fairly like a wolf but mixing it with a wolf will make it a literal wolf just slightly calmer and more trainable.
