I’ve had the same situation as you before then ended up with a white pair. Don’t worry if it gets a bit of dirt cause it will look more “street”. However, i didn’t mean that you can still wear it without cleaning when it changes its color from white to totally “milk chocolate” 😁 Anw, it’s worth a try.
