I love your hair so much! I just got my brotherlocks ™️ done a month and a half ago. and OMG. i love it but holy cow, you’re right, LIFE BE LIFE-ING. i’m struggling so much with how to braid and band. i can’t braid so i bundle and band lol. I live in Ohio, too. I’ve been living here for three years in Akron.

Thank you! As, I type, my hair is two strand twisted and banded. Today was wash day! If your hair is shorter, I’m sure bundling and banding will help with slippage until your locs mature. A few may still unravel, but that’s part of the process. My locs are imperfect, so is my haircare routine. We’re all doing the best we can! How’s Akron? Enjoying living there?

Also there’s a Sisterlocks loctician named Jocelyn Renee who’s known as the Digital Loctician who’s on youtube and has a huge movement and has what’s called the loc academy to learn how to retire and take care of your hair and is educating ALL of us on our hair and is a trichologist. She wrote an article her website (i can send it to you) on thinking that 6 weeks of retightening is too much and that the constant retightening can be a huge reason why there’s alopecia with microlocks. I’ve been following her and she’s been helping me maintain the health and scalp health.

I’m a brother and I wanna start my log journey I have ccca in my crown also but I’m 24 years of age I’ve been keep up with it but my hair is thin and thick everywhere else so it noticeable to my eye but I wanna dread so bad but idk if it make my situation worst how has your been

Have you checked with a dermatologist? Mine is really unchanged, the last derm I talked to just said use rogaine daily. It was not a great experience. I'm planning to start a supplement routine and change derms (likely) after my next follow-up visit.

@@CristaStylista my derm is YT couldn’t find an African American one yet I’m in nyc she just recommendeds steroid injections but steroid are only used to reduce inflammation not for growing the hair I’ve been pretty controlling on the breakage keeping my hair natural and moist most of the times I deal with some breakage as every one does when they comb regular amounts use to be say worst a year ago my derm told me that she see’s the area growing but really really slow and not and dense as around the head is there anyway I can email ur to talk more about our condition and loc’s please ?

@@CristaStylista also I keep seeing rosemary and lavender are just as effective as rogaine it just takes long periods of time to see effect I used rogaine in the begging of my hair journey cause I had a ball spot when I first started growing didn’t see any change so I stop using in a about a month but a year later my hair in that area grew but just really really slow idk if the rogaine helped it but they say once u start rogaine u can never stop also it cause shedding and breakage in the first 6-7 weeks that I experienced have u started using on locks yet have any fell out ?
