Love the content! Also quick thing smough uses lightning so who is to say he wasn't skilled in magic and only getting better, and bigger, eventually being too big for his armour from feasting. That would explain his size in ds3 as to ds1. And if he gained any power from eating his enemies it's fair to assume after the chosen beat him, he returned to a dark Anor Londo, and decided to rule it himself as he was gluttonous and greedy, we see him take the life from Ornstien at the first chance he got. So what if after you beat Gwendolyn, he returns to find him beaten and proceeded to grind him and those in Anor Londo that were left by you. I would imagine fighting the dark souls character would leave them in a pretty bad state. Even if they won in that timeline I imagine it would come at a cost to stop the undead even if it's not you, there are plenty of travelers out there that would be fully capable of beating the fortress and smough. Even if they aren't around yet. If not the chosen being you, then someone else will fall into the prophecy. As Oscar believed it was his task to be the chosen undead as do you after hearing his family's old story, about A chosen undead, leaving the asylum in search of pilgrimage, to eventually make it to Lordran land of the God's. In this tale it's not stated that you will like the fire, and in other tales it says that the flames will fade and only dark will remain, that's the tale of the abyss. The unsung hero is the chosen undead but that undead isn't necessarily You but rather the one that makes the feat possible, a selfless hero that would rather keep someone else's honor intact than spread the glory of what he accomplished. Smough also has a ton of faith in his God's, and Gwendolyn drives his magic from his faith and his hat increases his magic capabilities, so what if the intelligence for aldritch was taken from both Gwendolyn and Gwendolyns talisman. I imagine smough would be faithful to his God's for his feasts, only believing in them the more he eats, probably believing they were sent to him by the gods to consume. Thus creating a loop of ruined faith. But faith nonetheless.

Millions of people gravitate to Vaati and his style of videos (not without credit). While he puts everything the game gives you together, you guys go under the surface and scoop out the really worthwhile stories and theories for people like me. You guys are doing exactly what Miyazaki wanted to inspire when he made this game, and i think you are doing an outstanding job. I really love how you've shifted my perspective on the world of Dark Souls. From some really hard game to a world full of wonder and mysteries. Reminds me of my favorite videogame quote fom Dishonored 2: "The world is better with a hint of mystery" Thank you for what you do (PS, im hoping for some DS3 lore some day, i still think that i'm the only one who noticed prince Lothric exusively uses angelic miracles as the lord of a giant kingdom that had a civil war with angel worshippers.)

On your Lothric point, I want to say that the angel miracle lady (can't remember her name) is stated to have been his tutor, but I haven't played DS3 in a very long time because it's my least favorite gameplay-wise.

My personal favourite Hawkshaw video was the Elden Ring Colour Theory - it's too perfect, it has to be true. However, a close second, and more in line with this video is your video on Lautrec. Really thew me for a loop and made me rethink his whole appearance in the game. Frankly, while I still like other lore youtubers, I feel like they only really scratch the surface - their theories are safe, based on hard evidence and more "explanatory". Explaining the lore, explaining who each character is. Your videos go deeper, plumbing the depths for hidden motivations - histories and events and relationships that weren't all that obvious initially.

Six hours ago, and after 8 years, I finally beat the first game. It's odd to say, but this was the first bucket list item that I ever wrote down, and now it's the first one I've crossed off. My wife understands that it's a big deal for me (especially since I'm not a gamer), but she knows it's truly significant. I cannot thank the community enough for being so wholesome, supportive, and hilarious. Times got dark for me (especially during the pandemic), and there were times when I very nearly (literally) went hollow. But even then, one of the first thoughts that kept coming to my mind, in the darkest of places, happened to be "I haven't completed Dark Souls yet..". It's funny where life takes you, and what surfaces in truly desperate hours. Now, I'm at a place where I no longer need to hold onto the dream of one day defeating Gwyn. I completed the challenge (and I don't give a shit if I had my BK Halberd and GC Shield on the entire second half), and my son got to watch me land the final hit. I feel more excited about the other adventures life has in store. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you all for being a crazy bunch of lore hunters. You all had a significant part in being heroes in the real world when you had to do heroic deeds in a virtual one. And I know damn well I'm not the only one. Praise the sun.

@BBQRavenWings
@BBQRavenWings 4 месяца назад
@@pascova5088 it makes sense, he got big from eating others, so in later years he would be bigger but not small enough for his armour anymore. Aldritch after defeated apparently let's you get smoughs hammer, and the arena is the same one smoughs killed Ornstiens shadow. Let's face it Real Ornstien would've been alot stronger, like in his second form. When smoughs gets defeated Ornstien gets a lot bigger from consuming his compatriots essence and smough can gain lightning from Ornstien but notice how he takes a larger size and gains a magic ability, and we know Ornstien wasn't a giant yet gets to be huge on the second phase. on the plus I believe any and all lore implications are before your character, even dlc content centered around your characters journey. The dark souls verse seems to take enemies that eat or consume in any way that of others, and give a fraction of their power to the consumer. So it stands to reason smough had consumed many meals before the events of ds3.
@BBQRavenWings

He laughs because he finds you running around to be funny. To him your his prey, you are his next meal. Although your battle is already decided, to him he believes your end is inevitable. He is ever hungry and is clad in a decorative golden armour, both symbolize gluttony and greed. He is out to kill the chosen undead, for fun not out of spite or wrath, but of pure choice he engages you immediately only waiting for Ornstien to join him before he goes all out, breaking the room apart with his hammer as he charges at you. His size is due to over consuming who he considers food. The eyes suggest he is only less than halfway into his transition probably being around Andre's size prior to finding his love of cannibalism, which is that of eating your own species. It is likely he isn't a giant but of one of the rather bigger stoic like people. Then after eating grew to sizes of Tower Knights.

Hawkshaw picked up the torch when Vaati dropped the ball when Elden ring released. Bro was strangely quiet back then, maybe he made enough money, maybe he chansed perfection too hard, or maybe he was just busy back then. I also want to make it extremely clear, and add, that Vaati’s absence, while beneficial, was deliberate. He never abandoned Elden Ring, he just upped his game on Lore video production, making it harder to make the videos. So I just wanted to say that before anyone claims I think Vaati abandoned the community lol

Hey so, regarding the lore for Elden Ring: I found something revealing in the item description for the mimic veil and I don't think I have seen this mentioned yet. It states: Golden veil of intricate design. Uses FP to mimic nearby objects. When Godrick was hounded from Leyndell, the Royal Capital, this was one of a multitude of treasures he took with him. Also known as "Marika's Mischief". The nickname really stands out to me as an explanation of how Marika was able to take the form of Radagon.

Given their humanoid forms however, I'd say it's not a stretch to say they came post Farum Azula since humans didn't have access to metals quite yet. Therefore they would've been during the Erdtree's time.

I honestly think the skull in Ash Lake is just an Oni. Onis are like demons in Japanese Mythology. Onislayer Greatbow describes Oni as giant and horned - and the sword Onikiri (Oni killer) was made to decapitate It’s target. Also if you search Oni - their faces are very similar to the skull. The Blacksmith Deity might be the Nameless King himself - since the runes on the Titanite Demon’s heads were translated - they all talk about the Firstborn. The only thing I can’t possibly explain though is why there’s so much titanite in The Great Hollow then?

@@nnnnnnnnn8888 The 1st Nameless King (God) is Hypha to Hyphae to Hepha and at last Hephaestus. The Estus Flask is of Hepha/Hypha (Vigor/Life) hence Hepha+Estus=Hephaestus. The 2nd Nameless King is Gwyn's damned to memory son, possibly us The First Cursedborn Hollow, an Omen rearing it's head from ancestry's First Cursedborn Father, Hephaestus The Storm God of Fire and Smithing. It's also why we're chosen and ultimately end up killing our Father, to succeed since he couldn't. Gwyn's ultimate fear is for the veil to be pulled aside and reveal he is only a human, a human that with the help of other humans (pygmies) took everything from everyone so as to appear as a God and the pygmies live as lords with protection for all time. Both claim to be Lords/Gods but without other humans knowing their lies they get wrangled up in a death cult dedicated to Gwyn, Son of the Sun. Everyone is of the Dark, Everyone is of the Sun, We're all Gods and We're all Humans. The lie is the barrier that everyone is separate from these "beings", maybe in character but not in genetics.

And what if havel is the (stone) dragon at the end of dark souls 3 ? There is litterally a havel warrior next to him with a titanite slab. Did he killed him ? In the very domain of the dragons ? It looks like he is mourning, or simply contemplating it, just as the dragon gesture indicates meditation in stillness. Maybe havel warriors are all clerics of this one dragon. Could the dragon in ash lake be it, the dead stone dragon in ds3, but sooner in the timeline ?
@oonmm

Here's a thought that I've had: Is the Black Knight (in Undead Asylum) searching for the chosen undead because Gwyn has changed his mind about prolonging the age of fire? Trying to stop the player from collecting all of the lord souls to most likely extend the age of fire? That would explain why Gwyn is still there at the first flame, and didn't turn all of himself into ash by this point. There are a few arguments against this though: *The player may choose the dark ending. *Gwyn might just not want to die.

Something that maybe could use further explanation in the video is the theme of small in big. Or the seeming complex. Smough, a regular man in the armour of a giant, the mechanical boulder contraption, powered by simple labour, and the dog powering the lift... thinking deeper on this idea, the giant smith and his tiny anvil, the great lord neeto finally guarded by the tiniest skeletons, the gigantic, imposing goddess being a harmless illusion. All of it kind of shares this idea that everything is much more simple than it looks. The world of dark souls, in general, seems to be one made entirely out of these juxtapositions. Especially ones of simplicity. (One juxtaposition that I particularly loved was that Smough was the last defender of Anor Londo. The last knight to hold onto his honour is the cruel, the evil, the barbaric executioner.) To me, these juxtapositions finalize with Gwyn. The world of the gods is ornate, it is prestigious, it is crumbling, but it is still beautiful. Only to discover the thing that's keeping that world afloat is a sad, dying man, who is losing the strength to defend his throne. The complexities of this world all rest on the simple willpower, perhaps actual physical power, of someone unwilling to let go. Even the concept of the game-lore being this turgid, esoteric, impossible to comprehend mess of overlapping themes and stories, despite the fact that throughout most of the game your simple goal is "go there, kill this", is kind of artistically satisfying. Part of me believes there is no lore book, all of this is just the ultimate extrapolation on Miazakis favourite joke: Look like one thing, actually other thing.

In your response your statement at the end of the video, I’ve always wondered if the “deep sea” that Aldritch saw was meant to be a link to Bloodborne. I’m sure I’m probably extremely late to this party but the recurring motif of water in Bloodborne combined with Aldritch seeing an age after the end of the age of fire has made me wonder if it is an intentional lore bit meant to link the worlds of dark souls and Bloodborne while at the same time being a murky enough concept to not outright confirm it. I’m sure I’ve probably missed something and maybe this has been talked about and settled already but I haven’t seen it and I’ve always been curious.

I didn't finish the video about the cloranthy ring + smough + many armor/statue designs, but the "Flower of Life" is an ancient symbol associated with spirituality and universal oneness. The fringe and pseudo scientific info regarding this symbol go so far as to describe levels of consciousness leading to interdimensional power. Maybe some fertile research and speculation there despite the lunacy hahaha

Honestly, I do not feel Smough is Alderich. Sure, its convincing that we are able to purchase his gear after defeating Alderich however I can see this as a "Well, we already added Orenstiens armor, how do we add Smough's? Give it to the cannibal of course!" But from a lore perspective I have a theory: We know Smough was the left to defend Anor Londo, but seeing as Gwyndolin was consumed by Alderich, a literal god. I feel its somewhat safe to assume that Smough was eaten as well, digested first before Gwyndolin. This would explain Smough's armor being in Alderich, and Smough is an executioner. Not a God like Gwyndolin, just a really big, buff executioner. I wonder if there are any other hints in Aldrich's model. I feel thats the explanation but thats just a theory.. A GAME THEORY! Thanks for reading. (feel free to discuss in comments I'm curious as to what you think.)

I'm quite sad you unlisted your Elden Chef video too. You know, I once released a discord bot for a popular game, and I named the bot after Siegmeyer. Due to it being the first of its nature, it got over half a million users. But I was lazy with updates, and eventually Bots with names that actually made sense quickly overtook mine. All this happened before I watched Siegmeyer the Pretender, and since then I almost draw parallels between that event and the Dark souls lore, especially after hearing your video and thinking about it retrospectively

One of my main lore things i like to bring up is that the ds2 giants could very easily be the same as Yhorm's ancestors and the giants from ds1. The giants used to be the regular old giants we see in dark souls one and two, but they transported their souls to into Golems, thats the bodies we see them in ds2, through the ashen heart. It's stated multiple times that vendrick stole the ability to craft golems and forged drangelic from it, as directly stated by Chancellor Wellager. The reason for escaping their old bodies is to escape the undead curse, Its said vendrick came close to stopping the curse but failed, and he seemingly had great enough intresr in protecting the ashen heart that he gave it to The ancient dragon (who he himself is a giant)

This hold weight in the dark souls verse. It explains why they don't have faces and can use themselves as weapons and be impaled like the last giant king was, he broke out easily and didn't even think twice about it, would also make sense as to why they become trees.

Do the giant enemies and bosses of DS2 bleed when attacked? If they do and the golems from DLC3 don't, I think it disproves this, but I like the idea a lot.

@@HydraRaptorCH not every giant was said to have been transferred to a golem. But it's likely that a large group of giants separated themselves into golems and made what we know as giants kingdom in ds2. As for the ones in other games, I think it's a bit more complicated being that those giants would not be the same exact ones from ds2 due to the time difference between the worlds.

I have had a question about the anor londo fire keeper for the longest time. In DS3 we’re told that all firekeepers are blind. In ds1 the fair lady has no idea we’re not her sister, even if we look nothing like her. All the fire keepers in DS1 and DS3 are blind or at least we have no reason to think they can see; except the anor londo firekeeper.

I Would love to see a lore video about iconic Dark Souls locations, the places tell a lot about the story of the game Even items and enemies located in such place help in that regard, for example why are snake warriors located both in Sen fortress and Seath's archives Or how Anor Londo's Sun represents the Gods and their popularity, i assume it used to be in his most shining form before Gwyn's Son banishment (which can be linked to Solaire and his praising of the sun, especially near that Statue and ALSO considering Gwyn's son ring is called the Sun firstborn ring Or how from fading away it becomes a moon which is visible only thanks to the Sun, this represent Gwyndolin only having indirect power over the city and how he's usually concealed

Hawkshaw After the fight with smough and ornstien, what if like many other souls, it found a way to return into form. The savage of smough twisting its new form. Maybe Gwendolyn tried to fight it and instead was killed and consumed as Smough had done many times before. In the boss battle from ds1, when smough brings his hammer down on Ornstien, he only gains lightning or magic attacks, so maybe Smough can absorb others like feeding, and gain their powers like Kirby. When Ornstien absorbed Smough, he grew larger and his magic became prominent lightning. Smough laughs, maybe he can't truly die and he is aware of it. Or maybe he has eaten the undead or gained the power to partially resurrect through unclean means. Smough was evil hearted and probably loved only being executioner, lending help to him making easy work and an easy meal if he so disired. Others were disgusted of his habits but he remained an executioner. So maybe after Smough absorbed the spell of Ornstien, he was able to achieve lightning. Sensing the imminent danger, Gwendolyn acts and attempts to overthrow Smough after he comes back, its possible he eats and gains power, if he then eats enough undead, he may have a partial link to dark rituals which is likely. It is likely Gwendolyn wasnt prepared for Smough, and quickly was taken out. Absorbing Gwendolyn now gives him access to Gwendolyns spells and also changes his form slightly more. Maybe absorbing others increases his actual body size, to the point he has to leave behind his armour, and while he tests his new spells, he remembers how you defeated him, when he used his hammer, likely seeing it as his favorite weapon, he is now forced to feel as though his weapon wasnt cutting it (pun intended) so he tries the spells and soon his enemies fall faster as he gains a grip on his power, becoming Aldritch whom likely has dark connections still, maybe more so now. With everyone he consumes his form twists and changes to each victim he claims, the strongest soul of his being what we physically see. Basically he can return using others souls that are capable of resurrection like dark souls or rituals. This would mean that as long as he has a souls he can use, he is basically immortal but cant ressurect like the player does, so his body changes each time. Likely depending more on his powerful magic, like Gwendolyn did. Tell me what you think about this theory!!!

I love this channel, especially the mentality of lore-as-community-building. Check this out. I'm gonna outline some stuff about the Forest Hunters covenant. It'll sound crazy but it checks out. I have my own ideas on what it all means, but I've been turning it over for like a decade and it keeps getting more complicated. Just wait until you start trying to factor Alonne and the mushroom pyromancer ants into all this. The undead merchants in Undead Burg are Forest Hunter spies, and probably arrived in Lordran with Shiva. Alvina trusts Shiva. A lot. Shiva's armor prominently features a lion. Corpses matching the description of both Shiva and his attendant are found in DS3. Shiva's attendant uses Fire Surge. Fire Surge is dropped by one of Jeremiah's cultists in the Painting. Acid Surge would seem to come from the same place, which is probably Jugo, but that's getting into the second game, which makes things much, much more complicated.

OK, I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and I know SotE DLC is bananans rn so I wanna get this theory off my chest. MEGA DISCLAIMER: I have never played a FromSoft game ever. All the information I’m pulling from is due to the integral and vital deep dives of Vaati, Hawkshaw, AgtJake, Zullie, Smoughtown, Miss Chalice, and others that contribute to the massive narrative of this game. Thank you guys for your passionate attempts at making sense of the copious amounts of information. Every time I’ve watched a trailer/breakdown of SotE, my mind constantly goes back to the cut content Zullie discovered in one of her videos regarding the Malenia fight. About how there were dialogues and items relating to the relationship between Malenia and Miquella, and how the cut content hinted at a possible companionship between Malenia and the Tarnished. We know from the interviews Miyazaki had with a couple of gaming reporters that the ending of the DLC is self-contained, but that certain prerequisites needed to be made in the main world before the DLC could be accessed. E.g: Defeating Mogh and Radahn. So what if the other side is true too? What if, while the ending of the DLC is self-contained, the affects it has on the main world aren’t? There’s a reason you need to defeat Radahn, lore wise, for the DLC to happen. But what if there’s a reason they cut that additional dialogue/relationship stuff from the Malenia fight, too? After all, Malenia is an optional boss, and she doesn’t have to be defeated for the endings to come to pass. And what if this creates an external summons for the Moghwyn palace fight, where a new story pathing allows Malenia to help the Tarnished? What if you can go talk to her, get her to help, and possibly even choose Malenia over Millicent to give the needle to? Maybe if Malenia’s help is too broken, maybe this is an optional pathing for Millicent too, instead of her succumbing and dying to scarlet rot. Especially since Millicent, being Malenia’s will to resist, is mainly tied to the protection and devotion Malenia had for her brother, Miquella. It may not change the end, or how you fight Malenia. It perhaps might even give Malenia’s fight more weight. Seeing that you tried to help. She sees the corpse of her dearly departed brother, and gives up. I don’t know. But it’s been kicking around in my head for too long just to hold onto. I also have other theories regarding Miquella, and why he’d co-inhabit the land of shadow with his blasphemous kin. There’s something to that there, as well. But it also brings me back to the cut content again. “Let all things flourish, whether graceful or malign.” We’ll see…

3:50 I don't know if it's correct that we can buy Smough's Hammer after defeating Aldrich, since the Hammer is a pickup from a chest on the second floor of the building with a Sliver Knight staring at a Gwynevere painting. Maybe he meant "Armor" instead? Personally, I don't recall since I haven't played in a while, and the last time I did was when I was playing the Blades of Ashina mod combined with the Honest Merchant mod (I fucking hate grinding). Either way, it could very well be that Aldrich simply ate Smough, as Smough could also believably be of the same race as the Silver Knights, and thus may hold a bit of "Divinity" so to speak - likely more so, since I think for beings divine in nature (which, I should remind you, Smough IS since he is susceptible to the Occult Club we find in Anor Londo) greater "Soul" strength also boosts their Divinity, and I don't think it matters if the Souls is naturally strong or made strong by consuming the Souls of others, which I assume is a natural process for the divine - humans, that is to say Undead, need a bonfire / Firekeeper to be able to harness the power of Souls, but I don't think that's the case for the gods or their divine servants/contemporaries, as large stature is almost universally associated with power in Dark Souls. Holy fucking shit I should write shorter sentences. Anyway, I assume the connection the divine beings of Lordran have to the First Flame lets them "skip the middle man" so to speak and directly draw power from the Souls of their defeated enemies. Though I am also left to wonder if this is the case as I seem to recall, perhaps falsely, that being able to devour Souls is something unique to Undead? This also has me recalling an old thought of mine - how do Souls *really* operate? Are they simply created out of nothing upon birth? Are they somehow recycled? What happens to Souls offered to increase your level?

here's my two cents of speculation, a recent epiphany of mine that i haven't seen around The ember item in Dark Souls 3 is a burning version of Dark Souls 1's humanity, caused by the persistent age of fire. This explains why hollowing doesn't visually happen in DS3, because one used to burn humanity to return to their human form, and it also connects to the hollows of Londor for that same reason. The dark sigils one is bestowed will dull the flames, as one accepts the darkness within them. Hollowing is once again able to more naturally occur on death. The other method of hollowing, by losing one's will and purpose, still has the same effect, but I think it's a different situation. The hollowed person has no method to continue their belief in the flame, and so the fire fades from their soul. Perhaps this could imply more significant things about the undead curse, like the Darksign being a ring of flame that represents and requires this belief in it for an undead to retain their personhood.

I have a half baked theory that probably has a lot of holes in it but something I think about time to time. Sorry for my broken English beforehand! Manus escaped the Ringed city to Oolacile! We know with Halflight was from Oolacile so that kinda gives me an idea that Oolacile and The Ringed City were aware of each other. I don’t have a lot though out but i just think Manus is either the furtive pygmy itself or maybe a pygmy that was born with the most amount of the Dark soul itself. And that lead the church afraid of him probably calling him to be assassinated, so he fled and maybe he wandered in Oolacile, probably was a figure that people trusted and treated kindly hence why he was buried, probably out of respect or to let him rest in a peaceful area. The church probably found leads on what happened leading Oolacile to bend a knee and that cause a pact with the gods and the ringed city. Hence why Halflight and probably many others from Oolacile joined to protect the church in the ringed city. Or Manus was extremely paranoid and distrusting of people or either fully lost his mind and a beast at that point and attacked the City, leading to them killing him and tossing him under ground to seal him away. When he awakened he destroyed the city out of malice, before then The ringed city learned about this and made a pact with Oolacile. Many years later probably a few hundred years and to the point of the dlc, as we know Kaathe manipulated the people of Oolacile to mess and experiment on Manus’s corpse thus probably making him into a uncontrollable monster and using his humanity and darkness to corrupt and destroy the city. I do like the first idea of him being a good person who was just feared for being too “human” leading him fleeing into a civilization that accepted him and respected him.

Would his dialogue change since your casting a sunlight heal spell from a covenant that he protects as a warrior of said sunlight. Just something fun I was thinking about. This is something that intrigued me, why would they have spells with the same name that solaire is on a quest for, he can't find it himself and to top it you need to be in the covenant to cast the spell. He searches Anor Londo first but doesn't find what he is looking for, because it's not there/ or is it? Hope people enjoy that thought as much as I did haha 🥂

So another thought, what if when you die you don't return to your timeline but rather a parallel where you have failed before. It's chaotic to think of but would be logical since the lore implications behind aldritch. So let's say you defeat the shadow of Ornstien but smough finishes the fight, you die and return to a parallel where the chosen undead was prior to the fight, which would be better at explaining everything resetting upon death. And that would leave smough in his second phase, and in the parallel where you fell to Gwendolyn but still done some damage, I think super smough caught Gwendolyn sort of off guard and not at his fullest strength, only winning since he uses the illusory corridor magic. I'm sure seeing super smough stomping into your boss room would be scary enough but imagine not being at your best and still being a only magic weilder. There would be no chance.

"There Is No Telling How Long Your World And Mine Will Remain In Contact." - Solaire In this he talks about relations shifting and obscuring between worlds, pulling them apart and putting them back together. This is proven by seeing him and summoning him and why he can just seemingly vanish to a new area. The Very Fabric of time is moving, which supports my idea that when you die you can be placed in a time before you failed, that version of you either elsewhere or possibly having died and been sent to an alternate parallel with similar rules of travel. Notice how Solaire does not say the Fabric of Time Shifts but rather he said it moves but the relations to time like the physical worlds shift from timeline to timeline shifting and obscuring. The meanings of Obscure is as follows: not discovered or known about; uncertain. keep from being seen; conceal The more one moves about, the farther and closer one becomes to another. This is what Solaire was telling us in his very cryptic conversation. There will be worlds that will be unknown to you and some all to familiar. There will be be worlds kept complete secret by time itself and those concealed entirely from whats known.

Since the deacons of the deep were originally way of white members and aldrich was a “right and proper” cleric of the way of white, wouldn’t that give Aldrich access to the grand archives? The same grand archives where Oceiros went mad learning about Seath. Regardless of having access to the grand archives, I think Aldrich learned about Smough and thats what “developed his habit of devouring men” as your cousin Hawkwood said. So what is he then? Just a cobbled together reference to Smough, nito, percilla, and gwyndolin that they forgot to give meaning to? Aldrich’s story leaves me as unsatisfied as his eternal hunger.

Havel the Rock was most likely an ancient dragon. HEAR ME OUT. Havel's name in Japanese reads as ''Iwa no Youna'' which translate to Rock-like so in Japanese its Havel the Rock-like when translated. 'no Youna' also applied to ''Yama no Youna'' which translate to Mountain-like to describe the ancient dragons. So the item should read ''Stone imbued with the power of the everlasting dragons, offered to a mountain-like ancient dragon. Yama no Youna = Mountain-like Iwa no Youna = Rock-like Same 'no Youna' description can be found in the ancient dragon greatshield and the dragon tooth. Havel's Greatshield has a skill called ''Stone Flesh'' which raises physical absorption, but lowers lighting absorboption... But if you think that stone-like element enemies are weak to lightning, no other stone-like enemies in games are weak to lightning.. This makes me think that the followers of Havel used Havel's scales for armor. And as for the Dragon's Tooth. Its stated in the Design Work that its an ''Ancient Dragon Horn''. And the Ancient Dragon in Ash Lake is actually missing a horn.. Dark Souls is no stranger to describe something that is 'wrong' or 'observed by those who write about it' like Havel's items description Havel's Ring : "This ring was named AFTER Havel the Rock...." Havel's Helm in Japanese : "Helm worn by Havel the Rock's warriors. Carved from solid rock..." Havel's Ring : "This ring was named after Havel the Rock, .... Havel's men wore the ring to express faith in their leader..." No where in these reads that it was owned and worn by Havel, rather the people who followed him - Havel's warriors. They also use a miracle called 'Magic Barrier' which reads 'Miracle of Bishop Havel the Rock. Cover body in defensive magic coating.'' But in the Japanese translation it says ''Haberu no Shisaii'' which translates to Priest's of Havel, not that Havel himself was a priest/Bishop. Havel was an Ancient Dragon, and hates Seath and the only magic associated with Havel is to prevent magic damage, something that Seath is all about. Why he got beef with Seath, well, I dont know. Thank you for reading!

Theory: bearer of the curse and the ashen one are the same, after all bearer was able to overcome hollowing and ashen one is immune to hollowing and even the dark sigils don't make them truly hollow cause they still have humanity despite being beef jerky, and going the lord of hollow ending seems the perfect conclusion to the leave ending of ds2, and the Lord of hollow ending allows humanity to survive in the painted world and eventually return once the dreg heap is cleared up, after all the first flame doesn't fade in Lord of hollow ending but rather merge with the player meaning the first flame only dies when the player does. Ps this is why i consider Lord of hollow to be best ending for everyone in the game, lin k only keeps the fire alive for an hour and age of dark everyone becomes Abyssal monsters, but Lord of hollow ending keeps the fire eternal

I want to ask a question and sorry for bothering?? years back I pass Dark Souls and it was amazing, but now I want to pass the game again, but not in NG+ Start from Zero creating a new character, enjoy the game if it was my first time playing.

Huh. I guess I'm surprised you can read all those comments, that's a lot of folks. I always had this crazy theory all the games exist in the same physical planet at different times but heck, I feel like I'm wrong, I just get excited every time I see a forest and a pair of castle gates.
