It’s when you get itchy fingers at an auction the trouble starts 😆. I used to do a fair bit of slitting on a grey fergy and 5ft slitter. Only benefit I found was it let the water through the top compaction after the horses had been on land. After the fuel prices went up and time pressures I kinda stopped. Was going to do it this year but rain never stopped 😩
@@FlyingFergyMan some say it helps aeration but honestly I’m not 100%convinced on that… a bit like chain harrowing for me. As I say, I find it helps get water down past the compaction of animals. You might struggle depending how far down the ground rock is. It’s kinda each you there own with it🤷♂️😬
I hoped you've bidded on the 3095 ??? You can't have enough 3000 series IMHO!!! 😊 I was diving in silage yesterday and was going to drive with the farm's 5S 105 tractor but a real beautiful 3095 was the other option, (me and my friend nearly had a punch up fighting over it) it's one of the last made, a yr 95 model aircon that actually works!!! Nearly 10k hours, Datatronic been on the same farm since new, the owner still won't sell it as it's his favourite too but it's semi retired, and I've enjoyed every minute of it carting silage to pit with it with the pure growl of the Perkins 😊 it's been along time since I sat on one, thank you for the video.🙂👍. Ohh by the way, did I see something in the background of the Massey yard that is terrible just at the back of the superior reds ??🤔
Thanks Calum, nope no bids, I have the 3075 representing the 3000 series that will have to do...for now!!! Not sure whats in the background will have to go back and look LOL.😁
Nice bit of gear at that auction. Low loader looked good. I wouldn't mind having that extra 2 or 3 foot more than you think you need. Four foot bales are usually a bit bigger than four foot and if loading them with a soft hands handler the extra bit of room is wanted. Did you buy? The 1200 looks to be in safe hands looking at that garage.
Good point Eamon 👍 Its better looking at it than for it. Our yard is tight and we thought 20ft be enough to get around but its more at the bottom of the lane we think a longer trailer will bottom out. Suppose a kango hammer and a wee bit of concrete would sort that!!! It made 6300 not including VAT and Fees, we did not bid.
