Blimey it’s a mighty Vax Mach air, we had one from 2009 until last year when I sold it, it’s latter last few years it was a spare but it was kept in good condition and I repaired I few things on it, especially the power line from main body to power brush roll, overall it wasn’t a bad machine. I did end up buying added bits like extra hose. You’re right this model has 200 air watts I remember being impressed by that on the box as the previous outgoing cleaner we had was around a 100 and was useless, the vax was a revelation compared to our previous upright at the time.
@@parwaz7861 Dyson ball , I do use a cordless for daily use and deep clean with mains power machine every so often, recently bought a Henry Quick so far so good 😎
I have a Vax air revive, i notice every other time of doing the bin i need to wash the filter, it has no hepa filter and the design of head is poor compared to the old one.
That top filter in the bin lid should not be getting clogged that quickly - when they work properly the cyclones in these are very good, but one of the ones I had in my collection had an issue where the cyclone assembly would lift itself up inside the bin due to not enough clamping down force from the bin lid, and this made the bottom of the dust tube rubber seal lift away from the bottom bin flap slightly, allowing dirt to enter the cyclones in reverse, and clogging the top filter very quickly. The DC17 in the US had a similar issue affecting early models, where the bottom of the dust tube seal didnt meet the bottom bin flap properly. I think with your machine it may have that same issue, and it would also clog the cyclones up in the end. Judging by the date code in the serial number that was made in 2012 which was the first year I bought one - yes, they did come out in 2009 originally, but they made them for quite a while and they were really successful for Vax. The Reach version or the Total Home would have had the extension hose and longer cord and were the best ones to get. Apart from the one I had with the dodgy bin, I had no other real issues with the Mach Air. I just stuck sellotape all round the top of the cyclone assembly to permanently fix in within the bin so it wouldnt keep sucking itself upwards breaking the bottom gasket seal with the bin flap and it worked OK after that, no more top filter getting clogged.
Ooooh, that’s a great tip I’ll have to give that a go! Thanks Steve! I muchly appreciate it I would love to get one of the Air Reach models someday, such a fantastic machine!
My anti got hers when she got married in 2013 it was the pet one and still uses it but last year she got a shark now the vax is used on the second floor
