I have 4 of these sl3038 buck converters in my little e-motorcycle to do 12v and 5v from the 84v battery, I didnt trust the claimed 3a output so put a pair in parallel to run the 36w12v headlight, also did another 12v one just for the mechanical horn as i didnt want any back emf failures to kill my other needed electrics. (alarm, gps etc) so far they have been in over a year and no issues, so impressed with them i put one on my e-mtb for 12v for the qc3 phone charger off its 42v battery, oddly i'm on my 3rd one in 7 months which is weird, i'm stuck with them on the big bike as its 84v, but i think for the e-mtb i may switch to lt3800 based bucks as a better design (external fets) but only 60v rated. Glad i found your video, all my boards have the part number lasered off so now i can buy some spare chips.
