Hello everyone!!
Thanks for joining me today!
Well, here it is... the 3 hair dryer demonstration! As you can see, I had no issues blowing the paint with ANY hair dryer... why you ask? Because it has nothing to do with the hair dryer and everything to do with the paint consistency!
So, that being said, get to know your hair dryer.... if it's a powerful one you might need it on low speed. Less powerful, put it on high speed. The angle of how you hold the hair dryer also plays a role. Hold it higher up or holder it lower to the canvas. These are all things you need to practice in order to get the results you want. However, as I said the KEY here is - PAINT CONSISTENCY :)
Check out my video #63 to learn how I mix my paints.
I hope this video was helpful for you all.

Thank you- I want to do a Dutch pour so much- angle/height from canvas/ heat setting/ speed of hair dryer- lot to know and practice- a great lesson and fun to watch- I love all 3. But middle my absolute favorite because of the colors-

That was great to see the differences in dryers. The most powerful one looked so smooth when you used it. It looked easier for some reason. I did like the first one, the colours are great and I was gobsmacked at the amount of cells. They certainly made the painting look amazing , But No3 is my favourite by far. Poor wee No2. Bless. 😔 Love from Scotland Sandra xx

Wonderful!! Have to say ... it helps me when I see pros have issues - like melted hairdryer piece!! Helps me be less fearful of trying something new. (I’m a musician - used to teach my kids how to recover from mistakes .., and they loved when I made a mistake!) 👍👍

This was helpful. The first time I used a hairdryer I blew almost all the paint off canvas on to my wall. I’m standing there like the twilight one or something.i put a plastic tablecloth up on my wall after that. You jus have to practice-experiment to learn. It’s so fun. I love your work and Tammys’s and bunch of ithers

I had to go back and watch everything a couple of times and it didn’t seem to be a big difference in the distance Of the dryer but the position you were holding it. I have decided this is my problem but find I’m having a hard time just relaxing and allowing it to happen!! Thank you so so much for the experiment as it sure does demonstrate it’s the artist, the positioning, and just relaxing and allowing the dryer to do it’s job. Your work is amazing to say the very least!

In order to work it, canvas on the floor and I'm on my knees above so I keep it away from blowing everything to heck!! But lately, after my surgeries and illness I can't get the hang of it so I found a 1000 watt dryer that's supposed to be coming today from Amazon.. Kanella this was funny! I went through a similar issue with changing hair dryers! 🤣 Anyway, my problem back when I first started was, my hair dryer came with a wide mouth attachment and as a result I ended up with blobs of paint, well, everywhere! I finally got a narrow mouth attachment and I was off and running. Also the great thing about the dryer I have, it has an in between setting. I can keep it on low and hit the “cool” button to give it a little more blow power without setting it on high. I love my dryer and I think I might go into a deep depression if anything ever happens to it! 😬🙄🤣 Great demonstration! ❤️

So funny that I found this tonight. I have been on Amazon for an hour looking at hair dryers to start my journey on pours. Looked at a small dryer priced at around $30.00 and one of the bad reviews said the nozzle had melted onto the barrel and she couldn’t remove it! I’ll definitely look for one with low heat settings along with variable speeds. Thank you so much. You rock this art form!
@KanellaCiracoArt
@KanellaCiracoArt 4 года назад
I would not worry too much about the nozzle melting as you would not be using the hair dryer for that long... i use mine for 30 seconds. Mine melted as I used it for a workshop and 8 ladies used it one after the other.. so it was on for a LONG time LOL

the second dryer has a shorter tube, the third has a longer tube (the part where the air comes out). That does make a difference also. Also my dryer I use is over 30 yrs old (Vidal Sassoon Quiet 1600 - bought in high school - just had a 30 yr reunion lol) and I lost the concentrator years ago so made my own with tape and cardboard and it works good for me.
