I've owned a Razkull for about a month now. Absolutely love it. I upgraded the Carb, Manifold, deleted the air box, added an air filter, and went with an M4 Exhaust. Can run 70 +mph on flat ground, and I weigh 190 pounds. Would readily recommend. I find myself on the Razkull far more than I am on my ZZR600.

For every foreigner calling them out on this, we don't get the Aprilia RS 125, the Yamaha R15, or any of the other 125/150cc "learner bikes" in the US. These are the only 125's that we can get and ride on the street here.

Im not from the US but i can tell you why. You can do Car license and Motocycle License at age 16 and you can drive everything you want basically. Thats why you dont need 125's there.

It's always been that way with the US market. During the 80's, a lot of Japanese home market bikes were tested by magazines like Cycle, Cycle World, Motorcyclist and Cycle Guide. I have the November 1984 issue of CW and the September 1984 issue of CG. A lot of road test editors were just itching to have those bikes sold in your market but they would have been too expensive. Cycle had a special article on the Yamaha FZ250 Phazer and FZ400 in their March 1986 issue. Those bikes were actually owned by no less than the king himself, Kenny Roberts.
@ndperson1
@ndperson1 7 лет назад
Akiimo actually it is because of California laws. They have a law where a bike has to have 17 hp to be on the highway, and they don't even like the bikes that aren't legal there to arrive at their dock, so the Asian makers don't bother since that is the port

I love my OG 2015 Grom and i had fun upgrading it to I put a intake pod filter full two brothers exhaust DCR camshaft and Power commander 5 with the Auto tune kit and had it dyno tuned and now it has 13.4 HP and i top out at 74mph without full tucking im 185LBS and i can go up hills at 65 in a tuck no problem next im going to do the oil spinner delete kit and might go up to a 16 tooth drive sprocket and if i have a extra 1200 bucks i might get the BST carbon fiber rims to see if i can get past 80mph without hitting the rev limiter. So for another 1000 bucks you can wake up this little motor to do so much more without spending 2500 buck for a big bore kit that might blow up lol.
@joshmayne2853
@joshmayne2853 7 лет назад
so you bought a 125cc for $3200. put $1000 into and now it's as fast as a 250cc. you've spent the same money as if you'd just bought a 250cc to begin with. but now you've maxed out the 125 whereas if you'd started with a 250 you'd have a lot more to go.

This is how fun 125s should be, tiny, lightweight and fun. Not fake sportsbikes/cruisers which are just 11-14hp commuters in frocks. This type of bike plays to the strengths of the 125 making them fun even after you have a full licence to ride a 'real' sports or cruise bike.

Another plus for the Kymco is it doesn't have an underslung exhaust, so much higher ground clearance. You could put knobbies on it (plenty of motard options with 17 inch rims) and go offroad.

I think that they should have mentioned the reliability of SSR's pit bikes that have been around for awhile; frame breaks, swing arm breaks, etc. No way I would drop my money on something that will most likely cause you issues, and is also likely to be gone once Ducati sues them for design infringement. They should have also mentioned that Kawasaki and Kymco have a partnership now. They don't share designs, yet, but manufacturing. The Kawasaki, although a Japanese design and brand, is built in China. Luckily though, it is to Kawasaki's standards from my understanding.

I live in Cambodia where almost everyone rides 125cc because you don't need any sort of licence for it. I have a z125 but will be switching to a grom sf (marketed here as msx125 sf) in the near future. The only thing that annoys me about both bikes is that they are slower than the Honda Click 125i, which is a popular scooter for schoolgirls/teenagers here. I don't get it. Why are these bikes slower than some of the cheaper 125 scooter counterparts?

@ThaSideWeed
@ThaSideWeed 4 года назад
As long as you set the suspension up for the weight of who is riding it and the environment, should be fun, don't see the problem. That's what inspires confidence first and foremost. Even if you have the best tires for that environment, if the bike wobbles, squats instantly, bounces and dives instantly when a moderate amount of brakes are applied, doesn't matter what tires you have.

what i wouldn't give to have a YSR50..... back in the day, those bikes had great aftermarket support. these bikes will probably get the same attention. the prices for the honda and kawi are ridiculous, though.

Yea you gotta figure the aftermarket support for the grom and z125 are alot better than the others also cause that is a massive deal with these things they are all about the mods and is part of what makes them so fun

If u want one of those bikes in norway you can multiply the price in the states with x2,3 :/

Jaeta only x2 or x3?? Its about $3300 here in the states. Times that by 2 or 3 that's only $6600 or $9900. $3300 usd in Norwegian kron is $27,700! Its way cheaper there!

How did the SSR land on the clutch lever side falling off the kickstand? Physically impossible unless the kickstand was folded up....

Guy needs to get his specs right at around 7:06 he gets it all wrong. 2016 Kymco K-pipe 125 Horsepower (bhp/kW) 8 / 6 Horsepower RPM 7000 Torque (Ft Lbs/Nm) 6.3 / 8.5 Torque RPM 6000

kymko looks like its the clear winner with the larger wheels. tiny wheels are super skittish, and make then feel like scooters.

If you're older and looking for a utility bike? The K is the only choice. Normal size and pretty good top speed (70) even for single exit freeway trips to the store or work. I'm 52, 5'11" and 205 and felt like a mouse on the Honda and Kawasaki. Silly for adults...

I love these little bikes. But, you all kill me when you start talking about putting thousands of dollars of aftermarket parts and upgrades just to get 5 more MPH.

Would have liked to see the Benelli in the mix to see if the extra 10cc makes any difference

7-8 hp? Well, I'm 195cm tall, or roughly 6ft4 and I don't think I could physically fit on any of those bikes. I bought a Hyosung GT125 last year. 125cc v-twin with twin carbs... 15hp.
