Watching this again after three years. As a longtime pretty mediocre player, it's a real treat to see the game played at this level. The commentary is great too. Thanks to all, good work. Cheers from rainy Vienna, Scott
I played q3a countless hours back in the days, mostly cpma/ca. As time passed by for sure i played new shooters and had fun but what i never had in other games was this incredible smooth movement quake3 offered. Only quake 3 arena provided that...the best Arenashooter ever made and one of the best shooters of all time.
Am I the only one who noticed ever since Evil lost against Cooller in the season 22 finals, Evil's play style seems to have change a little bit, He isn't as aggressive as he used to be and he takes his time and listens a lot more which in the last two finals has shown how effective his play style has become
The commentary is leaps and bounds better than anything that QPL or twitch/quake has been putting out for the past couple of years. Rest in peace, ZLive.
Why aren't you using the visual mod that we saw at Quakecon and that allowed us to see both player's HP and Armor at the same time ? I thought that was a very nice addition for the spectators, is it because it was something that was installed locally just for Quakecon, or do you not use it by choice ?
What I like about this series is that people who really like and know Quake are commenting on it with an analytic mindset so that you can really get a feel for what's happening in the game. Other commentators are just trying to hype things up by sounding excited (although perhaps they actually are) and always point out the obvious ("X has picked up the Mega, OH what a rail shot!..."). Thanks guys!
I love that I can come back and watch these games! I didn't start playing Quake Live until quite well after it went to Steam. I think this is the first Aerowalk I've seen where Cypher actually had a struggle to win. I have yet to see him lose on this match, but yeah... pretty amazing game out the gate. Love to see Evil's crazy-aggressive style.
Alex Meatman Really? it was even up until the last 3 minutes and evil got fortunate with low health kills which could have gone the other way on elder. He even got a frag with 7 left, and at one point, waiting on mega too earli while railable. Cypher played brilliantly and it was the perfect final between them imo.
