President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. honors the men and women of the Philippine Navy (PN) as he joins the fleet in celebrating their 125th anniversary in a program at the PN Headquarters in Roxas Boulevard, City of Manila on May 26, 2023.
During the event, the Commander-in-Chief witnesses the presentation of awards led by Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr., PN Flag Officer-in-Command. Among these recognitions are Type Command of the Year, Operating Force of the Year, Support Command of the Year, Support Unit of the Year, Enlisted Personnel of the Year, PN Civilian Model Supervisor of the Year, PN Civilian Model Employee of the Year, Award of the Gawad Sa Kapayapaan, Award of the Distinguish Navy Cross, and Award of the Gold Cross Medal.
Exactly a week ago, President Marcos Jr. joined Vice Admiral Adaci Jr. as the Navy exhibited its anti-air warfare capabilities in a live demonstration off the coast of San Antonio, Zambales. The major event was a prelude of today’s celebration that represented a great stride in the PN’s resolve to better protect the country’s seas and secure the Filipino people.
With the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Modernization Program, the PN is poised to steadily modernize and improve its capabilities.
