What I like best about watching your videos is that you move from one project to another without any stress or urgency. You know they will all get done in time and have a calmness about your daily tasks of the chickens, the gardens, the cooking. It is very zen.
Watching all creation you do reminds me the months of my childhood with my grandma when I was so excited to see the men constructing anything that makes life more comfortable in the village.
Another beautiful episode. Shout out for Julius and JoJo. They were awesome. Thank you, Martijn, for reminding us to be thankful for the simpler things in life. Kind wishes to the Community who gather here every week.
They were "all in" in being there! Wow. Not just in the hard work but some kind of unique vibe of life strength. I'm not sure I've ever seen it before.
When Martijn asked Julius if he wanted to drive his ancestors sang and a new fire in his eyes had been lit. Germans and digging are like the Dutch and making dams
A German couple working their hearts out to help a Dutchman achieve his dream in Northern Italy. Who would have dreamed of that 80 years ago. Inspiring
@@Kinugo1 I understand that. The reason I found it inspiring is that the world is going through a lot of conflict at the moment and it can feel like there is now sign of resolution in sight. It doesn’t hurt to remind ourselves that even the greatest of pains can be overcome in our lifetime. Sorry if I offended you
Hello to you, MsHapless. From an old girl in Northern California. Martijn is grounding and so motivational for me. I've watched it all and so look forward to it.
Because this isn't content for him it's just his life. Those uploaders who had overly preachy guitar tunes are always so full of themselves and you can tell what they are putting out is content to them
Martijn can I give you a tip about ,excavator operation. If going down steep slopes ,always put the boom out in front of you ,extend the reach out about 50% and curl the bucket so it's just past parallel, with the ground ,then drive with the bucket close to the ground, if the machine tips at all the bucket hitting the ground ,will stop you tipping more. I hope you find this information helpful, I've been an operator for decades . Jojo and Julius were tremendous help .Any crew would appreciate their work ethic.
Dear Martin I think you have the fastest 45 minutes on the internet an observation shared by many of your followers which have become global . You have reached many countries ,I,m sure you had no idea how popular your site would become .Your property while very beautiful is also very steep adding difficulty to every project, but you are persistent and your calm demeanor masks how quickly you accomplish things. I was amazed by the agility and strength of your helpers, I,m glad that you get help from time to time,it helps to have people to talk to and dine with , it keeps you social. looking forward to next week and many weeks to come.
Your monk-like devotion to your homestead is remarkable. With such attention to details, sprinkle with a bit of humor and humility, you have given us a glimpse of what is possible with hard work and perseverance. Thank you so much for allowing us to share in your journey. Have a wonderful and productive week.
"monk like devotion" What sort of nonsense is this? Anyone ever who has gained land to call their own and endeavored to build their home upon it has worked in this way to complete it(some even more fervently). Monks were not some remarkable people, most of the time they were cowards or criminals
Jojo is by far one of the strongest volunteers who helped on the land. She seemed never tired. Her boundless energy with the wheelbarrow work is impressive. Fist bump for Jojo! As always, Martijn's video is never a bore.
Being elderly I have got to say this. Isn't it great to have young backs and legs to help us with the work we want done. I praise my grandkids daily. They will, without question, do what I ask. So appreciate them. It will be so nice to have an indoor bathroom. Also, an extra bed for friends. I'm jealous. I would love to live there.
Yes .. I remember working that hard and pushing my body and loving every minute.. I’m 80 now and still do things beyond my years but nothing like ten years ago… lol. Just a different chapter with challenges!! Love Martins focus and peacefulness
@@vickijohnson8151I'm in my mid seventies and just been severely reprimanded by my grandsons for pushing myself too hard. When their visit ends however I'm sure I will continue to push. Better to wear out than rust
@@vickijohnson8151 Greetings from Thailand. Good on you. I’m also 81, with cancer, but working every day on my little farm here in northern Thailand. It’s therapy, and we’re not letting the old person in. I love you comment, doing things beyond my years. Great analogy.
Martijn, again I say you have a natural eye for beauty. It shows in your placement of every detail from window boxes to the new stone terrace, to the dimensions of the greenhouse. And it shows in the way you compose each scene for the camera before filming. Your visual compositions are a feast of natural art. The universe thanks you, and I thank you.
Hi Martijn, clearly I have been living under a rock. Your channel got recommended and now it is time for popcorn and binge watching all the way from the beginning. Thank you for such peaceful videos.
I always look forward to your video on a Sunday. There are a lot of videos of RU-vidrs building stuff, but yours standout for me because there's no background music and they are beautifully filmed - as one would expect from a graphic designer with great taste and an appreciation the natural environment.
Yeah, I watch a few of these people, usually restoring Victorian and Georgian buildings in US or UK. Some put on the most annoying music that you have to mute the channel.
It is such a pleasure experiencing your work vicariously…the videography is exceptional and calming. I have watched all of your videos…not once…but several times and feel like I know a little about some of your visitors/helpers…love Ollie❤
I'm sooo impressed with Julius and Jojo!🤗🤗 Those two got cracking from the get go. They came to work, and work they did! Jojo! You go, girlfriend !!!💪🏼🌷👍🏻
we are melting here in Doha, Qatar! it feels like 50 degrees !! while it is raining there in August !! I always enjoy your videos Martin since video #1. my wife and I always waiting for Sundays. we love you and greetings from Qatar.
Thank you for showing us every time all the beauty of nature, the culture of communication, work, the culture of food, even all this fascinates us, thank you again, Martijn, well done....❤❤❤
What a breath of fresh air, hearing the thunder, seeing the river of rainwater run off the stone slabs ❤ “my world” disappeared for the duration of this video. Thank you ❤
Well, I can't quite believe this but I have finally caught up. I only found Martijn's channel a few months ago. I can honestly say that not only have they been a real inspiration, they have also helped me through some tough times. Thank you Martijn.
Yup you guessed it. The kitchen is clean and orderly. My hair is washed and blow dried. Nurses uniform ready for my Chronic Disease Management Nurse role in the morning. Candle is flickering on my bed side table. Nice hot chocolate to sip on while i watch Martijn's weekly installment of renovating his Italian oasis from my paradise on Australia's Gold Coast ........ all is well in the world
Thank you Martijn. For shareing your beautiful home, the lovely work you do and the peace and calm of your way about you, helps a restless soul to find calm as well. Know it helps me. So thank you so very much. Blessed Be always Martijn 🥰💜💜💜🥀
Much progress with the help of Julius and JoJo. So refreshing to watch all the personalities dropping by to help, we need that all over the world, you set a great example for us to follow. Thank you Martijn. and "company" Peace out!
Julius and JoJo were such hard workers, I’m so happy you had them. WOW, a lot got done. The rooster has gotten big. Everything just moves forward. 😀 Take care Martijn.🐓🌻
When Julius jumped on the excavator, reminded me of my teen's when I'd go up and help my uncle around his place. Get to learn how to work new equipment
You are so fortunate to have such good, hard working, salt of the earth friends, it doesn't hurt that they are young and full of positive energy, enjoy that cold beer, as it is well deserved, looking forward to the next chapter of the build, thank you.
Martijn, Your work always emphasizes the PRINCIPLE of self-determination. This is the very heart of civilized man. This episode, JoJo and Julius participated in their solidarity with high culture. Meanwhile, the chickens cheered from a distance :-))
I know it will always remain in my dreams, this lifestyle will never come true. Watching you makes me happy. Maybe if I did this, I wouldn't enjoy it this much. What wonderful friends, please convey my thanks to them.
Thank you Martijn for this beautifull gift. With my husband we start our sunday with your videos while we enjoy our breakfast. The best way to start sunday. We appreciate all the work and effort you put not only in making your home beautiful but to give us a glance of your life in the most amazingly beautiful way. Thak you again.
Wow Julius and JoJo moved so quickly, they were great! Martijn, every time you dig trenches it pours. It’s hard enough digging in rocky soil but digging in rocky muddy soil is worse. I’m glad your permits are imminent because the workshop is not only going to look beautiful but I believe it might be a happy place for you!! Stay safe on the digger!!
What a wonderful and hard working guests Jojo and Julius are. Pure enthousiasm. I may say it a thousand times, but thank you for sharing your life and works with us. I also almost always read most of the comments. You have a wonderful crowd too 😇😇😇😇😇😍 I wonder if you know the book "The Artist Way" by Julia Cameron? You seem so unblocked, so flowing in your work. Hard work.. but still .. I never spot you complaining or resisting... I remember only one time a curse escaped your mouth when a 'pikhouweel' broke. 😅 And you even censored the sound 😂 But.. that stands out to me... the seemingly ease you put yourself to the assignments. Blessings to you and everyone who reads this. Judith , Netherlands
Good afternoon Martijn. You've had as much rain as we did in Ontario Canada, It has been raining here for four days straight like a waterfall. The work is progressing really fast. You are a fortunate man to get the help of such good workers. Have a great week!
Here in the Blue Ridge Mts. of NC, we've also had a lot of rain. But at least it hasn't been for four days straight. That happened earlier this spring, for weeks on end. I guess if I had to choose between rain and forest fires, I'd choose the rain. Hopefully, this fall will bring back the sun, and even cooler temperatures. Have a great week in your lovely part of North America!
What a lot of work! And that lovely young lady was barefoot! Lots of rain...and mud but you cleared a good amount of soil Thank you for a lovely visit.
I am about to see all the videos from the start. I hope to find all the information I need to begin this journey myself in my country. Thanks for documenting it.
Im always just amazed at the wonderful people that you come across in life, these two truely understand your excitement for this slightly uphill project. : ) I have watched every video you have produced and everyone of them has a wonderful story to tell!
Hello! Martin, ep 126, still fantastic to watch. Gr8 to have friends drop in and help share the journey first hand. Your fans, I'm one, get to enjoy though the magic of tech. It's wonderful, thank you so much. I don't know what is going to be the best (the cabin or the work shop) both I suspect. Again, thank you. Cheers can't wait.
Hey Martijn so glad that things are working out about the workshop. I lived in the Australian wet tropics for many years which rains like the rain you had in this ep. The hinterlands behind Cairns is also red volcanic clay (but without as much stone as you have there). The red soil in Cairns frequently washes the mountain roads out & away down into the sea during the Wet Season, so the Council makes wire gabion cages full of rock, to keep the land together along the side of the roads to prevent the rain from washing the mountain roads away. Anyway, just some food for thought...
Loved the comment "the wheelbarrow parade". Enjoyed the view from the drone....could see all you three had accomplished with leveling off area for workshop. Hard work pays off.
Get that beer, Martjin! And, cheers to you, and all the awesome people that have assisted in this creation. Thank you, Julius and Jojo, for moving the earth! ❤
Yes ! What a big challenge to remove all that dirt separating the stones! It certainly takes strength of young bodies, legs, arms, the whole body, and calm mindset . That is a constant in Martijn. The advances in the beautiful property, getting more beautiful every day, is possible because Martijn’s leadership. 👏👏👏👏I will love to live there in that splendid spot in Italy mountains. ❤ thank you for sharing Martijn I wish you success in accomplishing your goals.
Such amazing progress, having the help speeds things up and makes it’s more fun.. relaxing after a hard days work with views like that is wonderful. Great job guys 👏
