Wow Oleg I’ve been watching your video since forever and the rink you are at right now is only a half an hour drive from where I live! Now I want to go there and meet you in person!! Love your videos
Wow! Your advice presentation skills have really markedly improved! I've used several of your videos to learn skating technique, and I'm an instructional designer - I create web-based training videos - so this is something I notice. In most of your videos, you demonstrate really well, but you don't explain what some of the terms in your advice mean, nor do you point out very well what you mean by them. In this, you slow it down, point to it with a mouse, and sometimes even pause and point out what to look for. This was really well done. Thank you!
Wow, thanks Oleg. My coach had us try these this week and I was getting my legs tangled. I’m used to just stepping one foot across the other, but apparently that’s the basic version. This is super helpful! 😀
Just wanted to say your videos are great, so detailed and clearly explained. I wish I lived close to you to take lessons, you sound like an awesome coach!
Started ice skating 4 months ago and been training pretty much every day and learning only from your videos. LOL if all the people including all trainers there are shocked on what I can do with only 4 months!!! Forward and Backward crossowers with very good understroke, mohawk, three turns, chocktow, three jump and toe loop jump and I skate very very low to the ground thanks to your lounges excercises which I have done faithfully every day with the annoyance of all the other in the ring as I tske alot of space doing so ahahhaha. Also I always try to put a good posture like you do and people do get impressed by that as it looks so good and so cool asking me who is coiching me as I skate so beautifully. Love you Oleg and I wish you could be my private couch here in Tokyo. A dance teacher here already asked me to learn dancing as he needs males and wants me to learn so I can dance with all the ladies without partners ahahahah.... I only wish I discovered Ice skating before... I am past 40s now but still in very good shape as I was also a professional boxer and still training and I am an avid cyclist. 💪💪 Thank you Oleg you have the most beautifull skating posture I have ever seen and I am so glad to be able to learn from you. You rock!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the insight on the body weight transfer. That is something I struggle with, leaning into the edge and transferring weight properly. Your explanations are always concise and make sense.
The view of the Badlands is spectacular. Thanks for sharing Oleg. As for the understrokes, I have yet to learn them. I'm still trying to improve my forward crossovers (esp. the crossing over part; still a work-in-progress). I just need to get strong and solid outside edges for now.
Thank you!! Yes it's an incredible place. My advice is to drive the loop once, the come back around and explore. Also the car pass has in and out permission. So you have a week to go in and out.
That’s really helpful. Can you do a change of edge video with forward crossovers on the serpentine pattern....my coach is trying to teach me this atm. So left foot crossover on the inside edge, holding the right leg crossed thru, then changing to the outside edge of the left (skating) leg....and then vice versa onto the right inside to outside. Would like to be able to watch it a few times. Thanks.
