Abel Mutua, a prominent Kenyan content creator, producer, and screenwriter, has become a source of inspiration for many due to his remarkable journey from adversity to success. He is married to Judy Nyawira, and together they have a daughter named Stephanie Nyawira.
Abel Mutua's early life was marked by challenges when his father abandoned him and his mother at a young age. Struggling to make ends meet, they had to downgrade their living situation. Fortunately, Abel's life took a positive turn when his mother remarried, and he gained a stepfather who lovingly raised him along with his six siblings.
After completing secondary school, Abel Mutua pursued a degree in Film Production with a focus on Camera Works at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication. Graduating in 2005, his intensive studies marked a turning point in his life.
In the early stages of his career, Mutua secured an internship at Royal Media Services, where he joined the scriptwriting team for popular shows like Tahindi High and Mother-in-Law. Subsequently, he moved on to Protel Studios to work on Hapa Kule Production. Later, he co-founded his own production company, Phill It Production, in collaboration with Philip Karanja.
Phill It Production gained recognition for producing successful shows like Real Househelps of Kawangware and Sue & Jonnie. However, a disagreement arose with Protel Studios when they refused to credit Phill It Production for their work on Real House Helps of Kawangware, leading to Mutua and Karanja terminating their contract. This departure also influenced the exit of Njugush.
Abel Mutua rose to public prominence during the COVID-19 pandemic by sharing captivating stories on his RU-vid channel. His series, including Diaspora Stories, Headline Hitters, and Young & Stupid Stories, expanded his public portfolio.
In his personal life, Abel Mutua is happily married to Judy Nyawira, and the couple is blessed with a daughter named Stephanie Mumbua, affectionately known as Mumbus. Abel Mutua's life journey serves as a testament to resilience and determination, inspiring many who follow his career.
