Lots of cool stuff for the Scrapyard. The Mustang is lookin' cool. I think i've said it before, I like that color on the Nova. Have a good weekend Red.
I'm sure I'll get some use out of it. I was as excited about the 70s-80's vintage tires as anything else. Most of my stash are 50s-60's bias ply. I like the way the yellow shows against the turquoise, I just wish the yellow in Trouble was a little denser. I have to get cracking on the Mustang. Everything is painted and ready to go, I just can't seem to get started You enjoy your weekend as well, I hope the weather is nice.
IIRC, the clear oil pan is the engine from the Don Garlits Swamprat Wynn's Jammer AMT kit. I don't recall the swamprat number, but it was the 1st dragster to officially break 200mph, although Chris Karemesines had done it unofficially a while before.
I built 2 of them back in the 1960s. 1 when the kit 1st came out that I built as the Garlits car. Then later in the 60s I built another without the front body and with a scratch built front wing. I painted the rear body around the cockpit metallic blue. Wired the engine and added some fuel plumbing. Unfortunately, both were victims to an earthquake in 1971. I've thought about getting another kit since then, but haven't.
Thanks Paul. I've screwed the paint up though. It isn't too bad, thanks to the location (driver's side sail panel and louvers), but I'm paused for a minute while I consider options. I still have a bit of that color left, I may try spotting it in with the .3 head and low pressure.
