I’ve done about 3 rings with the Abalone shells. I may not be doing it right, but it turned out really nice and I wear mine every day, do dishes, shower, etc, and it’s held up beautifully!! It’s been probably a year now, since I’ve made the ring. I order the tiny shell pieces. You get a good sized jar of them!!

Beautiful rings. I find that if you pull the little head off a micro brush it works really well to get the resin all the way to the side and it’s helps if you get bubbles.

I’m a nail tech, so the reason it may not cure is because black especially or dark colors need to be cured in thin coats . The light can’t penetrate thick coats, it may not be 100% cured underneath and might peel.

Gel nail polish may require a higher wattage nail lamp than the small one seen here. The high wattage ones are cheap nowadays. I got one over 200 watts for 15 bucks from temu. Most nail companies recommend at least 36 watts for gel polish curing. Hope this helps. Beautiful rings❤

Hey Michelle can you use your triangle knife flat parallel at a bit of any angle while it's turning as a straight edge to smooth the resin as it turns. Not just the point but the cutting edge as a resin guide?

They are not really that expensive, In fact I heard Dollar General or 5 Below had them if I remember right.

The black does not cure as well, with UV resin.

Hi I’m so glad I found your video, I always wanted to make a ring. I have one of those machines but rings 5 thru 9 won’t fit, do you have any suggestions?
