Hey friends! Today's project is a snake. In normal instances, I would recommend buying one. There are plenty of reputable companies who have shops dedicated to such tasks. Snakes take forever to build, this project took me 3hrs! At the moment though, a 12ch, 25ft, fan to fan XLR snake was not available. So, I decided to build a set for an upcoming gig. I don't NEED a snake but I want to build one for some reason. What model cable is this? Also have you ever considered doing a sort of intro to heat shrink/labeling video. I think that would be cool to see!

Hey Lucas! The trunk line is a brand of cable called TourTronics. Its a house brand of cable used by Entertainment Manufacturing Group. I do a ton of work with EMG, they have a bunch of cool cabling/breakers/connectors designed for rack panels and integrated systems. Hmmmm....heat shrink video? I never thought of that! I'll add that to the list. Thanks for the suggestion!

@@billylaguardia at least I'd find it interesting lol. I haven't found much out there about how to select the correct size

@@LucasWasson oh man...its a guessing game for sure. I keep a bunch of sizes in stock and just pray haha. best bet is to get a little sample pack with a bunch of sizes. Once you have that, you start to find your favorite sizes.

great videos, i've learned a lot. how do you provide adequate strain relief when terminating snake wire into and XLR connector? unlike XLR cable (e.g. canare star-quad) - the cable diameter is so much smaller on snake wires. does the switchcraft snake XLR connector offer some strain relief over say, neutrik xlr connector?
