Hi, i have a 250amp max output alternator, and the regular is not working. Can you please tell me that i can use the normal regulator to replace it or i need specifically same regulator as that regulator is not available in India because I imported the alternator from usa. Pls advise that can i use regulator from a 100 or 130amp alternator??

I have no experience about alternator's regulator 😥 You can use similar alternator's regulator probably 🤔👍🏻❤️🙏🏻

250 amp alternator in which you are using in car or any other you can repair alternator for any car electrician it parts can be replaceable with any other alternator. If you want to get more power consumption is more 100amp alternator is not work but usually 100 amp is sufficient for all tasks my car alternator is 100 amps it is good enough charging my 55ah battery and 2 100 watt halogen and two 55 watt halogen fog lamps and also for Sterio with 300 rms amplifier running a 12 inch subwoofer. Specify your requirement for current I.e amps. So that I can suggest you the alternator. Much work like fuse wires many should be changed if you use in automotive like cars modern cars ecm will not accept alternations

I need to handle current for 5 amps will it work as lm 7812 can handle max upto 2 amps and it cannot withstand to high currents as per data sheet. Suggest a mosfet witch can withstand to 5 amps for long time. I need 12-14 V and continuous 5 amp output from 12-40v input.

I am curious if the 6 amps diode is needed for DC, and what it's purpose is?

it is for dc since his ouput from the powersupplyu is in AC but if it is in dc, then its just redundancy but if you put a smaller diode lets say 1A it will have a purpose which is to limit current or protect the IC to not overcurrent or over heat when your device draws more current than the ic can handle
