Playing launch to enjoy the experience with everyone, then probably forgetting about the game for the rest of my life. Happy to have a week or two of fun though.
agree 100% trying to do what Path of Exile does this game is not the same as Path of exile's Genre, gameplay style or even progression, i don't think it will be fun to grind those levels all over again every 6 weeks or grind anything at all tbh
Another quick couple, Last Epoch has its first season on the 9th (10th for me as Im an Aussie) and Path Of Exile has its 3.25 Season coming out on the 26th
@18:16 Smite 2 Thank you for mentioning Smite 2, It's also the only MOBA I ever enjoyed and played for any length of time. I had no idea it was even a thing?!?
@@FullchanAnon As you do with all F2P games and actually in general with all games of today, it aint the 90s any more 🙈 Edit: gaming today feels more and more like a slot machine 🤷
YOIU CANT BE PAY TO WIN IF YOUR GAME IS PVE oh my goddddddd. Also, everyone goes 'bUt nExOn' when it comes to MTX. Nexon also control all MTX in The Finals - and thats arguabley the most fair and reasonable cash shop in that genre.
the First Descendant looks interesting, i didn't even know about it but it's coming pretty out soon, i'll try it out, i was really in to Warframe once upon a time. I've been looking forward to Zenless Zone Zero also, i'm a big fan of Genshin, been playing it almost since launch.
(for The First Descendant) I can never really call it pay to win if it doesn't have any PVP at all. Yes you can pay to advance but you are pretty much just paying to skip the game which makes you a bit of an idiot to start with.
Ya the gameplay (literally shooting things, etc.) felt enjoyable. Definitely felt like it was going to lack real legs though. I definitely plan on jumping in, getting as much as I can out of it, and likely dropping it pretty early on. We shall see though!
@@prismriot4910 judging by the fact that there are TWO cash shops and one is for progression and power, I'd say it's pretty clear they haven't learned anything. I doubt it lives long, but I plan to play it for a bit anyway.
I enjoyed the beta for First Descendant, will give the 1.0 release a shot. Flintlock demo was interesting, with a cool setting. Gonna play it given its on Gamepass. The thing I'm most looking forward to is the new Last Epoch seasn, they seem to be adding a lot of cool stuff.
The First Descendant is one im very interested in. I've been following it since the reveal trailer and played in all of the betas. The devs communicate well with the community, and they're clearly listening to feedback. Everything from gun sounds to grappling hook mobility and in-world activities, enemy patrols, and removal of the gacha color system were all responses to community feedback. They've done multiple interviews and shared a lot of developer talks and q&a's, and, at this point, they've earned the benefit of the doubt from me. I'm willing to trust them. Not Nexon as a whole, but this dev team specifically. I hope they don't let me down.
I'm curious just how much you actually played of the First Descendent's betas because you sound like you played an hour and called it quits. I played all the betas and your critiques on certain things is puzzling. For instance, the terrain. Even the first zone isn't flat at all. Hills, valleys, caves, dilapidated structures to fight in, etc. The rest of the zones have similar along with giant chasms, even deeper caves, a bunch of hi tech structures, and so on. The missions can do for more variety but there were far more than just the one you mentioned. Also it's been stated the devs are changing around certain monetization options after player feedback, so we're unsure how that's gonna be at the moment. For now it seems the main tactic is a battle pass and pay for convenience options. The game is PvE, and your example of "paytowin" makes no sense. The systems you're talking about that's similar to Warframe are definitely not a direct copy, and that's coming from a Warframe vet who's played it for over a decade now. This game took alot of leafs from that game's book, but plays quite a bit differently, and has its own spin on the "Mod" system. Frankly, it felt more improved. I agree Nexon is something to always be worried about, and I won't be surprised if they end up ruining it down the line. But at the moment TFD is rather promising. Warframe needs more direct competition and this could be a strong contender so long as Nexon doesn't destroy a good thing.
He says he's played it 40 hours in the betas🤷♂️ so I was looking forward to it before I heard him talk about it, sucked all the good out the game. I mean he says it's like Warframe which i loved, I do think he's more bitter and angry against Nexon than the game . Let's hope your more right than him 👍
The first descendant updates, the fixed some of the cash shop that testers were complaining about. Also with p2w, there is no pvp and as far as I know they don't plan on it at all
@@comalation6614 The devs make the game extra grindy to push people to spend money (rather than wait 3 days for build timers - or - to grind currency. That's how. They make the game worse for average users, so people are pushed into spending to skip the annoying parts.
@@ForceGamingYTYea sure. That doesn't count as p2w tho. As long as theres no rankings, pvp or anything to gain beside your personal progression in game i really dont think it would be p2w.
I played warframe when the void tile set was new and the only end game. Revives cost platinum. The only way to get potatoes was to buy them. The games had to be played with your wallet plain and simple. I'll give anything a chance as long it doesn't lock content behind pay
Revives cannot currently be bought with plat - you have a set number per instance which can be increased if you equip Arcanes (like mods). You can buy potatoes through the Nightwave system which is a sort-of seasonal rolling dailies/weeklies system. Nightwave also offers a way to get weapon and warframe slots, but those aren't handed out at a comfortable rate. They're cheap af though, so 20 minutes doing relics and you can get the plat you would need to unlock more slots. You might give Warframe another go if you haven't taken a look in a long while. As far as F2P games, I'd put it at the top of the "most fair" list, followed directly by PoE.
I have 4k+ hours in warframe sorry for the confusion. My point is that it started off rough and they worked at it first decendants will get the same mindset from me as long as they respect my time reward investment and don't pay wall content
Can't scam you if you choose to spend money, lol. While you're waiting for a timer to build stuff, go play a different game or farm stuff. I don't consider this game to be PTW with no pvp it doesn't matter if someone is higher lol and more powerful than you
Dont say that, warframe cry babies will be like "YeAh BuT In WaRfRaMe U cAn TrAdE" even if u need to play 12hours a day to farm enough for one piece of one gear lol.
Did you even play with the final beta test in may for the First Descendant? Because it doesn't sound like you did, holy shit. The amount of misinformation and missing information in your video is insane. Not to mention the pay to win part, it's a F2P game with PAY FOR CONVENIENCE elements, you don't win shit by getting certain descendants before others. They have also said it won't be pay to win at all, because you can get everything by farming. So no p2w, but p4c.
Yes, quite a lot actually. Overall there are things I enjoyed but I found the game a little disappointing. Also, Pay For Convenience just means the devs will (I'm certain) make the game more inconvenient to push players into spending. NEXON has a long track record of doing this exact thing in pretty much every single game. You're right, Pay 2 Win wasn't the proper term. But Pay For Convenience is not better, in fact in many ways I think it's worse. Artificially inflated grinds, excessively long build timers, difficult to get unlocks. All aspects of the game made worse so you'll spend for the 'convenience' of skipping the bullshit. So I'll agree with you, the game isn't P2W, it's Pay For Convenience. But the difference is I think that's actually WORSE for the average player, especially if they're non-competitive. They're just getting a game made more frustrating by design.
Not to mention Nexon was found guilty (and fined $9 Million) for unfair manipulation of items sold in their cash shops. www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/18xmf16/korean_ftc_fined_nexon_about_9_million_for_game/ With the most egregious fact being: one of the most desired outcomes players where spending money with the hopes of getting, was 0%. People paid for the chance to get something that was literally impossible. So yes, my trust in NEXON to be consumer friendly with their F2P games, is about as low as it gets.
Only good thing on this list is ff14s expansion... but its not a game. Its an expansion. If youre a new player and enjoy story and going through things slow then 100% worth tho PLAY THE FREE VERSION UP TO THE 2ND EXPANSION. Dont buy it. Try it first with the free trial. Its slow to start and takes time to get to endgame content, but its story is great and its a fun time. First descendant was fun in terms of gameplay but.... cash shop and gacha. No. Just dont. May be fun for a month or two but ultimately gonna be dead sooner than later. Throne and liberty will probably die. Itll be identical to the KR version which... even KR doesnt like. Sounds like a flop to me. Forstpunk 2 will surely be fun and the delay is probably a good thing tho.
1:44 "And not one but two different cash shops available" ...Hmm...ok, I'll keep listening... "One for cosmetics..." Alright, thats fine." "...and one for upgrades and progression." There it is. Nexon killed the game before it even released. Typical of them. RIP The First Descendant.
Stormgate, I look forward to. Throne and Liberty has great ideas and gameplay, will enjoy it for a few weeks and then leave when I won't be able to keep up with guild progression. Cataclismo is the big surprise here, I'll enjoy getting into that game.
First Descendant = Nexon, never again after the whole rate scam lawsuit proving how scum of a company they really are FFXIV = I'll try one day I swear... Once Human = Was all in until I experienced bad luck with the perk system, if they don't change that I'm out ZZZ = gacha hell no T&L = NCSoft P2W garbage What I will be playing is Last Epoch Harbingers of Ruin
We're in the world of gacha's of all sorts ladies and gentlemen. You can thank Hoyo by playing and spending your money in ZZZ and genshin! or that HSR game :P TBH though guys, I don't mind the gacha model and I think it can be improved to a good generous one but as of right now they are all too damn greedy. Else it's a good model coz it's not like dragon's dogma 2 where you buy a game and get crashes (CTDs) and all after 8 hours. You just pay for whatever you want, or not and you get whatever you want. They should stop with the stupid 50/50s though and make it 100% always. Where is the fun in losing a 50/50? That's when you quit the game because it was that much fun
I’m definitely putting lots of time into Once Human if there’s one game that will occupy me like Elden Ring SOTE Sekiro Destiny 2 GOT & RDR2 it’s Once Human I tried to like First Descendant but the elements of it remind me so much of Anthem & Mass Effect the co-op seems fun but it just seems like there’s not that many quality of life activities whereas once human has dungeons world events PVP here’s the best part you can drive vehicles & IT’S OPEN WORLD that’s practically everything I want in a game the beta was pretty dope for sure
1. First Descendant - Looks interesting but doesn't look as polished as Warframe or Destiny. Super hesitant as far a Pay to Win goes. Why play this when I can keep playing Destiny? 2. FFXIV Dawntrail - I've tried so hard to get into that MMO but the hundreds of hours of story just makes it hard. Would prefer if they truly made this a new jumping off point for new people with new tutorials and a recap of the story so far. 3. Once Human - Looks really boring with a story that sounds like it's going to be a confusing mess. 4. Stormgate - Always down to try an RTS but not a huge fan of the art style. The factions also seem very samey to another RTS I know of... 5.
I think all the big mmos have 500 hours of story now 🙃 but for real. No time to catch up on stories. Finally did Necrom and Firesail or something for ESO, but with full-time school and 60-hour workweek, FF14 and SWTOR ain't gonna happen.
Throne and Liberty's beta for global is about the only thing for me in July. Maybe some Phase 4 Season of Discovery in WoW. FFXIV's new Viper job seems alright but I just can't get into that game much. I need a real New World replacement, not shooters. Thumbs up for S-tier videos!
Somebody said this on another video, but I'll repeat and rephrase it here. Once Human, Flintlock, Project LLL, The First Descendant, The Division, Anthem, Outriders: these games all look like the same last-gen game engine with nothing actually fresh to offer. Will wait and see, I guess?
What other game? 500 hours? Ive played Elden ring for 2000. You're forgiven for not liking FfXIV? Its not really an mmo. Its a movie where you do one disco, dance thing then get a bunch of cutscenes. It WAS an mmo. Then they made it a anime streaming platform. You're not missing anything.
Well there might be new games but i prefer existing ones. Mmorpgs for example: Guild Wars 2 is a great game and the base game being f2p and the first 2 expansions for 7,49€ or all of them for like 50€ is a good deal. I dont understand why somebody would prefer something like tarisland over gw2. Didnt play it for years and just logged in again. That game is huge. Really my recommendation for mmorpgs right now. New games do not come close.
Warframe is VERY pay2win, yet people don't talk about it. Sure, you can trade plat in-game, but it does not disregard the prior fact. Also, Warframe has no meaningful endgame content aka raids. You repeat the same thing over and over until they release the next amazing story quests. Honestly, if TFD pay2win isn't too egregious, I can see it having a more fun endgame loop and content than Warframe considering there are the boss fights and endgame dungeons coming in a future update according to the roadmap.
Tbh, you could probably take a month to play FF14, get some solid streams from it if nothing else. It has the best storyline of any MMORPG made so far, but yea, it's definitely a major time sink (worth it though).
It's astonishing to me that Stormgate managed to fumble so hard on the art side of things; people are starving for a new RTS and yet they somehow managed to make their art - particularly the terrain - look SO unattractive that it's got people skeptical of the game from the outset. Why the hell in 2024 does grass/mud terrain texture look worse than games from a decade or two ago? It's just bizarre. SC 2 looks infinitely sharper.
'Another F2P P2W Open World AAA Game' - Man it's crazy how these companies are still so obsessed with being the next Destiny/Fortnite. I'm more excited for AA games than AAA games now lol.
I wouldn't even give The First Descendants a try see what Nexon has done. I wish people would stop adding survival aspects to a game in attempt to make a game seem realistic. I get people like survival games, but I don't want to have to worry about water, food or rest in a game. I play games to escape the real world if only for a small amount of time a day. When I first heard about Once Human I thought cool a new open world looter shooter. Then I heard it was an open world survival looter shooter I was like great another survival game. Why? The way you described Zenless Zone Zero made me think of the anime Bleach. Flintlock looks like it will be fun. Honestly the only game on this list I am looking forward to playing is Stormgate. I love the rts genre and was sad when StarCraft 2's story ended. Such a great game. So i hope Stormgate is able to bring the rts genre back with a vengeance.
These all look like dogshit. But seeing as that's been the game industry for the last 10 years and it's just getting worse every year, I'm not surprised. Half the problem is the gaming community throws their money at dogshit games, while the other half of the problem is devs have no originality anymore. Studios just try to cash in by hopping on (what's popular right now) bandwagons.
Sir. wich mmo you play that has no pay2win? I would like to know, because on every video you upload you highlight the pay2win aspect and sincerely I can't find an mmo without that. So I would really like to know WICH mmo you play that's not p2w
it's a while off from being finished or a released game but I hope you start covering Stars Reach and the company behind it, Playable Worlds.. It's gonna give you a lot of content just to cover Playable Worlds a company and what they're trying to accomplish..
I play final fantasy xiv. It's good. 500 hrs to get through story? Maybe But 1100 hours in, i've been loving it for a very very very long time. Dawntrail has been enjoyable for me so far. I hope you get to try it when you retire force ;)
Staying away from ff14. Endwalker really bombed it's long term story. New stuff isn't much better. Every ff14 expansion is the same thing over and over.
The only thing that's better about this than warframe is the money to in game credits ratio lol Like in warframe, I have never bought plat unless I had a discount (50% or 75%) and buying plat at the normal rate is just unreasonably expensive. Hopefully they have a market like in warframe to be able to earn credits.
Once Human is good but hope it got some hefty polish, the betas were quite janky. First Descendant could be fun Warframe-like but depends on how Nexon-ized it will be.
Never cared for Starcraft, I grew up on Dune 2, Command and Conquer and the #1 rts ever for me is Supreme Commander by far the best one made. I really don't like the rock, paper scissors approach to rts. I also wish EA(ya i hate them too) would remake LOTR Rise of the Witch King RTS probably my 2nd favorite rts of all time behind Supreme Commander.
I can`t understand yours 2 favorites rts are supreme commander and bfme 2: rotwk AND you don`t care for starcraft. You should try Starcraft 2. Is free (really free for MP).
@@CorruptorPeste I bought SC1 on launch and didn't play much. Also got SC2 for free but like I said the Rock/paper/Scissors approach doesn't do it for me :) Starcraft felt like a clickfest and to this dude with arthritis it's just no bueno.
ZZZ turned out to be really, really good. The main story is good enough to play once and quit. Felt like a free top shelf Jrpg with action combat. Slow, slow start, 7 hours of introduction but it really surprised me.
not new but newly FREE TO PLAY, forgot Knightfall a daring journey. is super fun and used to love it. went free to play recently so people are back on enjoying it. been having fun on it recently.
Stormgate...keeping up Blizzard's MO of just stealing shit that came before it and pretending it's different. Those ex-developers learned the lesson well.
Saying it is a 'Warframe - light' game that has pay to win elements, a very unpolished setting and elements that can be bought that potentially don't offer anything to the player that it promises, that is a bit insulting to be honest. I picked up Warframe about a year and a half or so ago and nothing in that game is pay to win, the monetization is about as fair as I've ever seen it. Also, Warframe is a game that is excellent for people that can deep dive into the content and really invest in it, as the systems aren't just really varied, they are also complex and what you use over time tends to change a lot over your progression. If you like looter shooters and a bit of science fiction, there is no better product on the market .. and it's absolutely free to play. The game offers so much, I felt I needed to pay for some amount of platinum (the paid resource in the game) .. and with some heavy discount because I was a returning player I bought so much I'm having trouble spending it >.
Really hoping I can 100% TFD before Once Human releases. Got 7 days to do it but not sure how much the pay wall will slow me down. Gonna grind the shit out of Once Human though to try and do everything in the first season because I have no interest in the seasonal resets.
Sooooo many F2P /P2W and progress games here. So sad….80% of these titles prolly have great ideas developed by great developers. But the monetization ruins it almost instantly for me…
Who skips crafting times in Warframe? I highly doubt no one is gonna skip build times ether in TFD. And also you really need to learn the difference between Pay to Win vs Pay to Skip.
Idk how people found Once human fun, i tried the beta and it was so janky and the UI was terrible. These chinese games have to get better at making polised games. They always look like mobile games from the UI.
It can't be pay2win if there is no pvp, it is pay to save time or pay to advance faster. Surprised that someone with so much experiencw in thw gaminh world would consmfuse this, or you just want the controversy cloud?
Force you can play FF. If you stream it I think it’ll be worth the bang for your buck. I’m thinking about the vampiric player base that will watch your fall into FF. If only to finally clear the blind spot as it were.
I had a ton of hope for Corepunk. But after playing some alphas I can't help but feel lied to. They have been working on it forever and theres no raids? 2 dungeons and 2 BGs at launch that we aren't able to test and see? I want it to be great but I can't help but wonder what the hell have they been doing all these years? Seems they were directionless and couldn't decide what to make.
Sweet baby inc had it's filthy paws on Flintlock so that's a hard pass. Pretty hyped about The First Descendant though. Hope they learned from the mess they made in mapple story.
Keep in mind it has the RUST wipe all your progress every 6 weeks and you start at lvl 1 again now. I loved the game but once I learned that, nah. Not into the mindless "do it over and over and over and over because thats content" type games lol. I guarantee it will die out after the first few wipes because of it.
@@texasdad2372 not really, most of the hardest-to-obtain mods and blueprints will be kept, and you wil have your Eternaland storage, and i think every season has a different story progression so you wont go do the same thing over and over again - story-wise this is like No Man's Sky seasons, wherein you can enter your current character and put items that you've gathered in other ways into the current season i kinda figured the part "what if there's new players entering the public servers and see a ton of houses built around the area" and yea -- it kinda makes sense for the seasonal reset
ZZZ looks to be a fun, casual brawler. Animations are absolutely top notch. Honestly, at this point, Western devs need to level up their animations because these eastern dev houses are really putting out quality combat and animation.
Remember the UE5 tech demo we got years ago? The games running on UE5 don’t look good and run like shit and we’re half a decade into this console generation …. 🤔 🧐 🤨
I want once human to be good and fair but I feel like I'm too cynical about it (probably for a good reason). I'll wait for a launch review and watch for the monetization, then decide
Once human is a survival game timely wipes are expected by fans of the genre. But it's also a looter shooter and wipes arnt expected by those fans. People are going to be pissed either way.
"500 hours of story" is pretty funny to say when 90% is "run here and talk to this person, run here and talk to this person, do this 5x more times and then kill 3 enemies, wash rinse repeat."
