Once I pulled into a parking space and put down the headlights and a little 5 year old boy screamed, "Whooooooa!" That honest reaction, more than anything else, made me proud of my car.
No Doubt brother, and that’s the best feeling ever!! Not gonna lie I love women, and it’s cool whenever they notice and like ya car, but there’s nothing like seeing how excited a little kid gets whenever they see something new to them their eyes light up and they’ll smile from ear to ear
BRO LMAOOOO THANK YOU!! i was working with this on the background, so i miss some ocasional visual jokes, thanks for saying that i went back and it CRACKED ME THE FUCK UP
Miatas are JUST Great for trackdays and summer cruises. I live in norway, we have very limited syn and heat and we dont really have thst many tracks, that is why i personally believe that Miatas are overrated as f*ck
Whoever edited this video, the part at 5:26 when he says "pop up" but instead of his hand popping up his body went sideways, I appreciated it. Thanks for that.
M : Totally agreed. Otherwise, I would not have bought both ST18X and ST20X Celica and kept for many years! See my RU-vid Video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bnjy1DbUIUI.html
I saw a dude once with a miata that had ponies all over it go to home depot and he just kinda put potting soil on top of his trunk like it was the bed of a pickup truck
@@Revoxem If you need to get something big from Home Depot, they rent small trucks for a very reasonable price, at least the one by me does. I know from experience, I had a NA Miata as my only car for about 5 years.
I'm not a miata fan but how does technology off Mazda rx-7 dismiss the popularity of the miata as an economy car and the cult following that the rx-7 doesn't have. #morepowermeansmoremoneywithlessclass
I had one too, a red one and I thought it was the sexiest cars ever at the time! When I got out of my Prelude I felt like a supermodel with that perfect fan blown hair! I loved that car!
What actually got me into cars with pop up headlights was a meme that had a Miata with the entire hood as one giant pop up headlight and the description was something like "The guy behind me at night."
I'm so happy to see the Cord, the 928 and the Lagonda on your list. They are all legitimately ground-breaking. And I had forgotten about the M1. Car and Driver loved that car.
Yep, the 63 vette is certainly a looker. I particularly like the split rear window. Don't know what has happened to car styling over the years. Classic cars are so much easier on the eye than some of the monstrosities cutting about today.
F40 & Countach shouldn’t be on the list because both of them already have faux-headlights that look like the main headlights until the pop-ups are raised.
Nope, I got it right. The F40 was an iconic car, but it doesn't have the legacy or influence of the Corvette. If the Corvette hadn't been on this list, it would have been inaccurate.
You people don't understand, he chose the Corvette because of it's long loyalty for Pop-Up Headlights, it's the brand that has used it the most years out of all of them (50 freaking years), and also the last one to have them before they got banned...
@@MiguelMedV well the Corvette being the last car with pop ups is not too true now right? I mean there is another modern car with pop up headlights now
5th gen Celica was always my favorite and I Managed to snag up a 1992 Celica two years ago, almost done the restoration too! Love this video keep it up guys!
Joey Jennette yes waiting for a ferrari but he didnt include ferrari to his list sad😞 there are so many pop-up headlights in ferrari like F40, 288 gto, 328, 308 etc.
Thank you, James, for making the most important car related video in the history of car related vidoeos in the universe!!!!!! Pop-up headlights are the coolest thing to be included in car designs EVERRRRRRR!!!! And You will have my eternal gratitude for that. Also, you proved to be the COOLEST Donut presenter in the face of the universe!!!
@@866Infernus yep, Ferrari needs to get their act right when it comes to social media, the worst thing is when you see people who work for them and they not only want, but try to make jokes and get with the fans (Charles Lecrerc using a Banana outfit), it's pretty sad that they prefer their higher tower of boring seriousness instead of their fans and people who like the cars they make Also, nice pfp fren :)
@@pulkinpulman2028 it probably helped him be symptomatic enough to go get checked. May have saved his life. At least he didn't have a massive heart attack. Nos should sponsor them again.
I swear these guys are so freaking cool. I just want to take a vacation and go to California just to hang out around the studio (once COVID is gone). I feel like that would be a blast! You especially get their personalities in the podcast. I listened to all of their podcast episodes over the past 2 weeks and now I'm bummed that I have to wait for another one to come out lol
One thing I kinda wonder if headlights you see on late 60's GTOs, Camaros and Chargers would also count. They technically work in a similar fashion, but are just hidden differently (as part of the grille instead of part of the body). I think headlights like that do deserve a honourable mention too due to their different approach to the same mechanism (minus the ERRRRR DYNAMICS benefit but big plus for the looks).
18:07 No, I'm not about to cry, there's motor oil in my eye... My man has much love. Just found this channel, love what you're all doing. Consider me hooked...
The car missing from last weeks and this weeks list is the Lotus Espirit. Looks sweet in yellow and sports some of the best lookin pop up up n down headlights. Facts.
Wife on the phone: I really like this car Me: Does it have Pop Up Up And Down Headlights? Wife on the phone: What do you mean Me:........uncultured. -Click-
Brother , I’m sure you realize, there is a huge need for a pop up , up and down headlight song remix !!! I personally can not die a happy man unless this legendary song is revisited !! Please make this happen, it’s for the greater good of man kind , thank you .
One car that could have been added to the list is the 1974-1976 Bricklin SV1 manufactured and built in New Brunswick Canada by Malcolm Bricklin. Who is the same person who brought the Japanese Company Subaru into the United States.
A guy at a rest stop i was at was driving an orange Bricklin and needed something to keep his muffler up... This Joe had an almighty coathanger to save the day bwahahahahaha!!!
I’d love to see these come back. One thing that I think would be great would relocating the locations. Imagine instead of it being in the front it was located further back like mid hood. That’s give the intake plenty of room for air scoopin! Or you could have lights that don’t up up like how these do but have them open up and the metal above them folds may King Bc a triangle kind of shape with the body. I’d love to see that.
Except they absolutely murder the everliving FUCK out of any pedestrians unlucky enough to be in collisions with cars with them, but suuure..... Go on...
When he said #2 I knew I’d be upset because one of my two favorite pop-up headlights would be snubbed - Corvette or Opel GT. And they insulted the better of the two. If the Porsche counts the Opel counts and should annihilate this field of mostly Japanese stuff.
