@@anitabulumaa Yes unfortunately from the 911 attacks on the twin towers. So many of the FDNY firefighters succumbed to the smoke and eventual collapse of the towers 🙏💔

I love this video!!! My dad has been a firefighter for over 20+ years in Texas and is a captain and fire inspector! My entire life I wanted to be a firefighter but can’t cause of epilepsy…

I’m betting that at least half of these graduates decided to become a firefighter after their family member passed. It must be awesome for the guys who worked with their parents who now work with their kids.

It seemed like on television when they blow up these buildings. It seemed like it was going all the way around like a belt, all these explosions." -Fire Battalion Chief Dennis Kenahan “Somewhere around the middle of the World Trade Center, there was this orange and red flash coming out. Initially it was just one flash. Then this flash just kept popping all the way around the building and that building had started to explode. The popping sound, and with each popping sound it was initially an orange and then red flash came out of the building and then it would just go all around the building on both sides as far as I could see. These popping sounds and the explosions were getting bigger, going both up and down and then all around the building." -FDNY Captain Karin Deshore "Meanwhile we were standing there with about five companies and we were just waiting for our assignment and then there was an explosion in the south tower, which according to this map, this exposure just blew out in flames. A lot of guys left at that point. I kept watching. Floor after floor after floor. One floor under another after another and when it hit about the fifth floor, I figured it was a bomb, because it looked like a synchronized deliberate kind of thing." -Firefighter Kenneth Rogers

How is this class different than all the others that had the children of 9/11 casualties, outside of the lowered standards for females and minorities? Why is this newsworthy, compared to previous classes that had scores of children of 9/11 casualties?
@Glixity
@Glixity 3 года назад
Its not different and, I'm pretty sure no one is downplaying all the other children of 9/11 casualties that became firefighters. These guys just so happened to be aired on the news. No need to look so deep into it.
@DowntownDeuce2
@DowntownDeuce2 3 года назад
@@Glixity In other words, there is no real significance or newsworthiness; it was only filling vacant air time, and there is no depth to it. I understand you perfectly.
@alvaroq2024
@alvaroq2024 2 года назад
@@DowntownDeuce2 You’re wrong! The reason this was newsworthy is because 13 graduates were from dads that gave their lives on 9/11. In previous graduations that number was a lot lower. Get it? No need to dissected to find something wrong.
@DowntownDeuce2

@@alvaroq2024 WRONG! Provide an official FDNY citation for that ridiculous claim. I suppose you don't follow recruitment and retention stats of FDNY, much less take the time to research an issue prior to commenting. 13 is insignificant, especially within fire suppression; FDNY EMS hires even higher. Any pre 2006 hires must be discarded, since they may have been in the civil service pipeline pre 9-11. Post '06 appointments saw greater than 20 legacy hires per class more than once, numbers being increased due some being siblings of the same father. Considering there were 343 casualties, and the size of the classes exceeding 200, 13 is median at best. Without injunctions and hiring delays due to quota hires, classes would have been more frequent, and smaller as a result. Because of the delays, classes were larger, placing legacy hires in proportionally greater numbers. I realize that you have are not on FDNY, and you obviously don't follow what's happening in FDNY, much less on The Rock. What possessed you to make a comment about something that you know nothing about? Does it make you feel better about yourself to pretend that you possess knowledge that you don't? Or, are you just the little social justice warrior who was offended by the reality that standards were lowered for women in minorities? Get it?!?
@DowntownDeuce2
@DowntownDeuce2 2 года назад
@@alvaroq2024 The reporter presented inaccurate information and you accepted it as fact, without bothering to research it?!? This feel good propaganda also discounts the number of legacy recruits who were already on the list when 9/11 occurred. Or, are you just the little social justice warrior who was offended by the reality that standards were lowered for women in minorities? Get it?!?

Over 17,000 were in the Towers during 9/11 did those thousands of survivors say the government did that no they didn't. What about the survivors from the North Tower collapse.
