i like how the only movie listed that doesn't have a year of release next to it is saw 6. like "yeah, it's a saw movie. there's like 40 of the fuckin things. pick a year, it doesn't matter. they're all the same movie." E: ignore nekromantik
Well done! I'm especially happy that you included remakes, and referenced the originals. In some cases, remakes are the better films. Great list, too. Although I've seen most, there are a few you mentioned that I just added to various playlists, cues, etc. Thanks for this.
I have a serious problem with killing animals for movies. Pretend all you want but to actually kill sentient beings for “entertainment” actually should be outlawed.
I agree i love animals and im totally against it especially in movies, its just so demented when people kill animals or ecen humans for entertainment Luckily most movies use CGI to make these effects and some even put the warning that no animals were harmed
@@titovalasques the animal wasn't killed for the purpose of the film, so was exempt. On the original release, the BBFC was going to cut the scene until they had confirmation that the animal wasn't killed just to make that scene.
I love horror movies, but anything that involves the harming or killing of animals is a huge no no. There is no need for it, it is disgusting and evil.
But what of a hunting scene, in a survival story or the ilk? Shooting a deer, trapping a rabbit or bird for nourishment I can see being ok in such a context . I mean it's done already all around the world anyways, yes?
Agreed. If it were fake, I'd have some reservations, and perhaps still watch the movie, but skip that part. However, a real animal getting tortured and killed? No, I'm not contributing viewership to any part of that.
The reason why hostel 2 was banned in Germany and the Ukraine wasn't because they were too violent but because the movie had a negative look on those countries and they believed that those who watched those movies would have a negative impact on the tourism
my father was a catholic. he saw the exorcist. he was one of the ones that walked out. he never watched any type of scary movie again. in his mind, that shit was too real to what a possession could be. and yes, he got sick outside the theatre.
I wish I felt that fear from watching a movie Last time I got that it was when I was 9, and my cousin took me to see "The house on haunted hill" 1999 No one was in the theatre I was near shitting myself Basically desensitised me
If possession were real, that movie would certainly be "too real" I suppose, yeah. It still ranks high on my list of most shocking horror movies ever and is legendary. Hard to believe that such a movie even past the censors, especially back then and when it did, it created one of the most talked about movie controversies ever, to this day. Yet the sequel sucked.
I had a very Baptist father. But was not into movies. But the church raised 'hell' over The Exorcist. I was 10y/o when The Exorcist came out. But I cut the lawn for the theater manager so I got tickets, junk food and no age restriction. Scared the crap out of me. But I saw it nine times more. Hence my love of horror movies. I explained to the church that God wins in the end. Just like 95% of Christian/ Satan/ Demonic movies. I loved going into churches when Harry Potter came out.
I wrote a long comment about this.Yeah, I was actually committed 4 times over 3 years when I was you nger because demon possesion was as real as the air we breathe! I could not function normally for almost 3yrs! I was SO scared at night(bc the demon first came as moving the bed around)I would feel my ❤beating and think the bed was moving! Honestly, I had PTSD and several other traumatic problems just from a movie!(If we are being truthful, it wasn't the movie- It was the Catholic church&my Catholic school that beat it into my head that if I was unpure AT ALL that I could be possessed at any moment! Sigh.....
@@bernadetteallen6955 unfortunately, by God's laws, we are all unpure. The only perfect person that ever walked this earth is Jesus himself. I couldn't imagine going through what you've been through.
We used to throw evil dead/ed2/army of darkness parties in high school and a little after. Loads of fun having a house full of people stop what they were doing to cheer certain scenes. Good times.
I can watch a lot of movies but i refuse to watch ones where real animals are hurt/killed. There is just no need to do such horrible things just for a movie
Killing real animals for shock value is vile. Acting out a scene or a fake scene of animal death is ok, these things do happen in real life, doesn't mean animals have to suffer for some sickos artistic vision.
@@ravensthatflywiththenightm7319 i think that grease stained Angel ran off into the sunset and enjoyed a beer and a burger saying to himself " man what the hell was that all about??"
I never had a problem with the increase in the gore of the Saw movies, what I had a problem with was how the traps got more and more elaborate to the point where he would have needed an entire construction crew to build some of them.
@@pennyc11 I heavily disagree. What about the guy from the first film. Jigsaw put him in a basically unwinnable barbed wire trap because this guy cut his wrists, and Jigsaw wanted to test if he really wanted to die or not. Ridiculous lol he didn't deserve that!
@@alienduderules6883 Hum, I didn't find the barbwire impossible. I agree it was extreme. If the person wasn't serious. Having survived an attempt myself? Humm..I'm on the fence with this one but I haven't analyzed each episode too closely.
@@pennyc11 he was way too fat, he couldn't move an inch without tearing himself up. How was he supposed to survive? Of course they only got more unfair as the movies went on and the apprentices just seemed to like to kill instead of "teach" lol
I saw “Land of the Dead” in theaters here when it came out many years ago. It’s a gory film but Ill give the award to “ Day of the Dead”(1985 I think)which is the true masterpiece of the original trilogy and all the other zombie films Romero did.
Honestly im surprised its on this list its acually incredibly tame compared to so many movies on this list. And the evil dead as well andit was the first zombie movie I watched and I loved it. And since then I was hook on Romeros movies
That scene where the zombies eat a trapped group of people in land of the dead still makes me physically sick to this day. Haven't seen the film since. 🤣😅
Pretty good list, however Land of the Dead isn't that extreme or disturbing, you should have picked Day of the Dead (1985) instead, much more extreme. As for Texas Chainsaw.. , Part 2 (1986) is quite a bit more gory and banned. Should you do a second video, do include Mark of the Devil (1970), Bloodsucking Freaks (1976), The New York Ripper (1982), Men Behind the Sun (1988), Guinea Pig 6: Mermaid In A Manhole, (1988), Ichi the Killer (2002), A Serbian Film (2010), House On the Edge of the Park (1980), , Grotesque (2009) , Faces of Death (1978), Caligula (1979), Irreversible (2002) and Kite (1998).
Y’all pls for the love of your soul…do not watch the ending of A Serbian Film. I can do gore. Any gore. Blood, guts, decapitations, etc. But the ending of A Serbian Film is rough. It’s not like the others. It’s not gory. It’s not scary. It’s fucked. And it’s about a little boy. Don’t recommend that film man. Just don’t. There are plenty of others horror films about sex, this one wasnt needed. I hope y’all catch my drift about what happens. It will stain your soul. And not in a creepy cool edgy way.
In fact I think your list is better, I remember them handing out throw up bags for Mark of The Devil in 1970 the plastic bag had a picture of the TONGUE BEING PULLED OUT of one of the witches I was 10 when I saw this in the movies WOW
Killing animals TO MAKE A DAMN MOVIE, should be illegal everywhere. Those films should absolutely be banned. Humans, as an entire race, really need to catch up. It’s not okay to kill things for fun.
Oof. Argh. There was a time when I was a young gorehound that I would have eagerly looked up these movies and watched them, but nowadays, not so much. My tastes in horror have changed drastically and excessive gore and edginess and disturbing content for the sake of it don't do anything for me anymore. Maybe I've allowed myself to not become desensitized? I don't know. But I do know one thing; Isabelle Adjani is one of the most beautiful women in the world and is aging beautifully--65 and still Has It and how. I can take that much positivity away from this video. :)
Great list. I was too young to see The Exorsist when it came out in the UK because it was an X. (Before the ratings changed here in the UK) When I did get around to seeing it I must admit my reaction was MEH! I think that because by the time it came around that I could watch it I had seen films that were more shocking/disturbing. The Evil Dead is awesome I never found anything in it disturbing, just fun. Land of the Dead I enjoy, I end up rewatching it if it comes on. Some on here I have never seen and some I would never want to. As an Oliver Reed fan I am happy to say I will NEVER watch The Devils, got part way through it once and just gave up.Horrible unpleasant film and I am not even religious. The Saw franchise & Hostel franchise are just boring. Give me Freddie, Jason and Michael any day :) P.S harming ANY animal in a film is totally unacceptable.
Sorry but any movie with real animal death and torture is fucked up. Whoever idea it was should have it done to them. You have to have something severely wrong with you to enjoy it.
The first Evil Dead wasn't a comedy at all. The 2nd evil dead is a reboot of the first film and is a comedy; Army of Darkness, the 3rd film, is a sequel to Evil Dead 2. The reboot film titled Evil Dead is a remake of the original but the TV series ASH vs the Evil Dead is a follow up to Army of Darkness. The franchise has 3 different continuities (not including comics, just film).
It should be illegal to kill animals for a movie. I'll watched something fucked up, but if a director is actually killing animals for their film, that is a hard pass. Thankfully there is more oversight than there used to be.
I watched it with my best friend at a dark drive-in movie theater when I was 15. We lived way out in the country and the drive back through the darkness was as terrifying as the movie.
The only thing I find offensive is the use of real animals - killing them for entertainment is never ok, in films, dog fighting, hunting etc. Just no thank you.
@LibtardsStillCant SilenceMe17 I'd suggest that's for food rather than just killing for fun, however. I'm in the UK and fox hunting is bullshit, if it's necessary, why have a whole squad of people in cosplay on horses and packs of dogs? Poison, traps or a rifle. Ideally anything that kills quickly and only when needed.
I love horror so I’m always watching disturbing video lists looking for movies to watch! This is a legit disturbing movie list I haven’t seen most of these on any other lists🤘🏼 like I said I watch the “disturbing” movie lists all the time so all I can say is “yikes” 🙏🏻🇨🇦
I just want to give a shout out to the Evil Dead franchise (not the remake for obvious reasons) to have a horror movie that was so good but then also have a movie like the Army of Darkness in the same timeline is just awesome
Have you seen Ash vs Evil Dead series? I just had to order it from Bookman's. I'm excited to know what happened to Ash after the movies. Although I didn't like much of the Quanchi one of him playing as a regular dude but kids looked for him as a hero as Ash. He still fought a Japanese Ghost Samurai..😆
The 2013 remake of Evil Dead is one of the few excellent remakes. I don't know what YOU watched but the remake is considered a gem by many Horror fans.
I agree. I can watch ISIS beheading videos for breakfast and not give a shit. But even the thought of a Chinese mouse-stomping videos makes me want to set fire to my local Szechuan restaurant.
The first night without babysit when I was around 10 years of age, me and my 2 year younger brother we started watching a movie that started with some archelogy digging site. Looked interesting to us so we kept watching.. It was the exorcist. Many times I said to my brother to close the eyes. When you are so young the suspense and effect is unforgettable. Many nights after that we both where so scared especially laying in the bed. We did not tell our parents for a few years.
Believe me the parents will know that!! I have a younger brother too and he had nightmares of movies and my parents knew that we watched a horrormovie but didnt say anything!!!
For some reason I watched the exorcist in a high school classroom. The teacher was showing us all the subliminal messages in the film. This was in the late nineties. I can't remember what class this was in
Great picks! I especially loved to see "Possession" in the list! But I missed at least the mentioning (not recommendation) of "Salo" and a stay-away notice for the very sick "A Serbian Film" (I never watched it and never will). But the most horrifying and most realistic horror movie of all times is missing: "Martyrs" from 2008! I not recommend to watch it for anyone, but if you do then be aware that it has 4 different levels of horrification and each level is even worse and more sick than the one before! It's the ultimate realistic nightmare and shows what people with sick ideologies are capable of. (And if you think it's all made up then I challenge you to look further into real projects like MKULTRA and Project Monarch and Adrenochrome harvesting. After finding out the truth, the movie becomes understandable, cause it's just a shadow of the real world.)
You stole my words. =) "Martyrs" is shocking in interesting way, pulling different strings one after another. And it's really hard to bear. Another unbearable, as for me is "Snuff 102" (2007). Never watch it, as well as "Human centipede 2". Those two are really sick. Think twice, before you stress your mind this way. And, if you like flicks about maniacs, then you'd probably like "The House That Jack Built" (2018). Just to recreate after all those bloody messes. ;-)
@@dongiovanni1993 Thanks for the further "recommendations". Only watched the Human Centipede 1, but saw an overview of part 2. And I liked von Triers movie THTJB. 😉 (I think there is a deeper meaning in his films, like the freemasonary in "The Kingdom".)
i am soo surprised that your missing something Marvelous Videos you didn't mention in this video another film that was also banned called The Serbian film has been banned in Spain, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Norway, and was temporarily banned from screening in Brazil
even if the animal is eaten after it is killed, the point is that it was crudely killed for the purposes of a movie. it was not hunted in the forrest by a father and son to bring back for the family to eat, it was for fun. and the animal can not consent to it like an actress consenting to a rape scene.
Exorcisms, demons, deadites, all is nothing compare to the real evil that men do, the Hostel movies will always scare me because of the possibility that can happen
I grew up with Bob Wilkins' Creature Feature and all the Hammer Horror films from the age of 9 and up. There's really not much that is disturbing to me, but even I had my limits on SOME films. Nekromantic, Cannibal Holocaust, Human Centipede, etc. THEN I look at the schlock from Blumhouse and feel proud that I saw all those movies as a child. Great memories are better than bad movies any day of the week.
@@dominichowell6896 yeah it leaves it too us to decide what happens next I like to think help came but was forever scared with the Horrors of what happened and she went inside and made a Centipede of own. The Human Centipede 4 (Hidden Sequence)
As a kid I remember Exerocist and Evil Dead. They were nearly impossible to watch at night in the dark and even when I got older it was still scary a hell. Beyond the door should of been on this list.
Tua T. Is still my MVP, LOL....I've never saw a horror movie before. The Evid Dead (original) and Exorcist scared the shit out me!!! I had ALL the lights on in the house for nearly a year! Then...I grew older....and loved horror movies since. Now, I can laugh and have no fear. Funny how the mind works LOL
I felt so bad for my dad. He was there when they filmed the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. He was doing yard work on the set and they failed to warn him and his coworkers about it. In the original uncut movie you can see their work truck in the distance. 🤣
BRUH. You don't gotta show the asshole hitting the bunny in the head or the pig getting shot when you talk about how they actually killed them for the movie. I'll take your word for it.
The Saw movies lost me when the traps stopped being "face your fear and push yourself to the limit to live" and became "yeah...there isn't really a way out of this. This is just for gore."
To be fair, at least the story of the films has an explanation as to why the traps become more and more unwinnable. Jigsaw can’t find good people to work under him lol
The full version of Cannibal Holocaust (and all of the similar Cannibal movies of the 70s and early 80s) is still banned in the UK. It IS available with all of the regular violence, gore etc intact, but with all of the footage of real animal cruelty and animal killing taken out.
Cannibal Holocaust is an iconic and classic horror movie, though. Also, it was the first Found Footage horror (made 17 years before Blair Witch Projects and a WWWAYYYYYYYYYYY better movie)> I strongly disagree with all the very real animal killing and cruelty, though.
@@amdteng Or an even better film...John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness. The Piano gets an honorable mention. Although not a horror, he is terrifying in it and chops Holly Hunter's finger off.

@@yakshakingu He's right though and it really just needs context. For it's time and decades after, it was legendary. When I saw it in the late 1980's I was already a big horror fan and had seen all the goriest and scariest there was. And even I was shocked by the Exorcist. Sure a lot has come after that was equally as shocking, but it didn't get dethroned for a very long time and deserves it's spot.
@@MrBilld75 I get the point it's just it's not one that ever phased me. I grew up on horror and I heard how terrifying it is and didn't see it until I was 10 and and I'm 40 now and it took 2 watches to appreciate it. I found it boring and I'm not religious so the theme wasn't impactful. No doubt it's one of the greatest and it made an impact but this idea that it's the most terrifying is not the case for all horror fans. To some a Serbian film is the most or some other film is more terrifying. The possession concept for one doesn't work as these films portray it to be so it's hard to see how its considered the most terrifying. The mainstream aspect of what's terrifying is different from what those of us who are not affected by it would be. I'm not saying it's not worthy but for many it's the most overrated film of horror. I meant no disrespect it's just not the same for everyone is all.
If animals get hurt, I Will NOT watch. Hurting animals in movies is strictly manipulative. No animal is bothering anyone except in Lake Placid. And then, rightly so.
Usually theres a statement that no animals were harmed. However, the fact that people eat animals, and animals eat people and each other, should make you realize some of this will be on film. Sorry
@@Dancerlayla-z6g I don’t mind any of that. I just mind when films kill animals strictly to manipulate the watchers. Animals can eat anyone and people can eat other. I’m fine with that.
It's been my impression that here in America showing violence is okay but sexuality (less so now, but still) is limited, while in certain places in Europe sexuality is a lot more natural and freely expressed but violence is limited. They're two sides of the same coin.
It would seem the powers of Hollywood still have a stick up their ass. It's often been said about U.S. horror movies, "it's okay to cut off a breast...you just cannot show one."
@@donniehagy5125 Exactly fam. Exactly. I honestly don't see the point of either one doing a restriction on one and leaving the other. It's all technically "mature content", so what's the point of letting one part slide while the other is denied. People either get violence desensitized and sexually repressed or the opposite. It just doesn't seem sensible. To me anyway. Tell me Don, are you from Europe? The States like me? Or somewhere else? I ask cause I'm curious what they do where you're at. Hopefully not one of the countries that restricts everything.
Like the video, and I should have been prepared for something to be seen... but the rabbit being hit kinda hurt a bit. Especially hearing you say it is real right as it's shown. Just didn't expect to see the actual shocking parts in the video, I guess. 🤷♀️ I usually watch these kind of videos to find horror I haven't seen. It is my own personal problem, of course this is not meant to be a complaint. Can watch Antichrist, Eden Lake, Terrifier, Martyrs, crazy works with humans being hurt... I've seen thousands of horror movies. Something about any animal getting hurt still gets to me after 20 years of loving horror movies. I had to look up where each animal death in Cannibal Holocaust was before watching it lol.
I gave been a horror film fan since the age of 6(I am 66), and the only 2 films that actually frightened me, are "The Exorcist" and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre". Oh, there have been plenty of more movies that are more disturbing, but none that has a more frightening effect on me, and therefore put them at the top of my classic list for from the horror genre. The animal cruelty in the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", was part of the "Meat is Murder" theme, and was not used solely on exploitative means like many of these latter horror(?) films.
I think il The Exorcist was scary for the 70' s , I tried to watch it but shut it off 40 mins in, not because I was scared but because it was sooooo boring!

@@krashd I'm with you there. I've watched both the original and the remake; the original feels more like softcore porn than a horror movie, but the remake? I felt kinda bad for Old Jennifer, but I felt downright horrible for New Jennifer. Huge kudos for Sarah Butler and the rest of the cast for bringing this movie to life (and a horrid, visceral life, at that)!
How about a movie called Dead-Alive 1992, man that movie was crazy and gross. It was about a monkey-rat that would bite you and once you're infected you become like the living dead.

That exact Evil Dead scene in the beginning made me literally jump on the couch when I first watched the movie on a late saturday horror movie session on tv, was scary as fak!
Considering that the most horrible, senseless, and violent videos of ACTUAL torture, mutilation, and murder come out of Brazil, makes one wonder just how bad a movie has to be to get banned there.
As you do keep mentioning her in your videos it's worth noting that Báthory may not have been guilty of the crimes she was accused of, it seems likely they were lies & character assassination put about at the time to justify divesting her of her property & holdings, real history may not be "as much" fun but it is still interesting.
I think this was common during the witch trial era. Like you said, a way to turn the community against them and then seize all their property / financial holdings

So one that NEEDS to be on your list is Martyrs-the older one not the remake from 2018. Watched it last night and it was so disturbing!!! Idk how the hell I got through the whole movie, but I did. Not sure if I could go through something like that again.
Pretty good list! Still missing, though, are higher-grade stuff like "A Serbian Movie", the "Centipede 1" or "Martyres" (the French version, not its lame US reboot). Tell me about 'em. A Serbian Movie is one of the most monstruous movies I've ever seen. In comparison, movies of your list should be rated PG13... 😄
Suggestions for Vol. 2: A Serbian Film Snuff (1976) (aka Slaughter) Cannibal Ferox (aka Make Them Die Slowly) Zombi2 (aka Zombie, Zombie Flesh Eaters) Faces of Death
The original I Spit on Your Grave is the much better one. It's way more intense in the abuse and the retribution. The remake seems like thr violence was toned down against the abusers, hence why the first one is better in my opinion.
What does it mean that a movie is banned in a certain country? I don't understand how that works. Movies are online, and you pay and you watch them wherever you are. Internet leaves geography out of the game.
They were banned when they were released. That happened before the streaming era. And for those that are still banned til today, I guess, selling physical copies is illegal.
@@j-art0221 right, but I mean, if a movie is banned lets say in Italy and I live in Italy, I can still buy it legally, I can buy the DVD in Amazon, or whatever, with my credit card.
I thought Land of the Dead had pretty average gore by modern zombie movie standards. The original Night of the Living Dead was probably much more disturbing for its time.
I think that maybe 'horror' should be broken up a little. There is a lot of stuff out there that really kind of overlaps. Horror, Gore and Slash, Shock, Mystery or Suspense, and even Psychodrama, all more or less blend in and out with one another. A truly frightening film usually has no interface with hacking up your babysitter and refrigerating what you don't pan-fry. I mean, Frankenstein, Werewolves, Dracula, Blob, Creature, or The Invisible Man don't have too much in common with Centipede or the Saw series. Still, no two people can actually truly see, watch or remember the same film. For example, when I was real little I watched a movie called The Crawling Eye, - and man did this child have nightmares; I think it wasn't too long before I was enjoying bonified hallucinations.
Exorcist is the only one I refuse to watch again! I was born in '73 so when I watched the film it was still being talked about around here. That one film left a scar in my mind so deep that anything with demonic kids (especially little kids) freak me the hell out! 😅

Starry Eyes by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer . You could also add a lot of Takashi Miike films to this list. Audition, Ichi the Killer, and Gozu. His film Kikoku (Yakuza Demon) really good gangster flick with out the gore. Really well done.
I LOVE Hostel 2. I think it's because she adapts and in the end ends up losing all emotion and joins the organization. I would've loved to see the 3rd film adapt her into it as she becomes the main villain.
I don't know if it banned in any country, but the french movie Inside from 2007 is a very disturbing, gory and sadistic one. It's a home invasion slasher with a hard to watch ending.
