I flew in ANA's new First Class onboard the Boeing 777, nicknamed "The Suite", en route from Tokyo to New York. This would be my first time trying ANA's majestic Japanese dining experience, and it was certainly well worth the wait.
In addition, I also got to sample a few glasses of $1,000/bottle Hibiki 21 and passed the time by watching some movies on the crisp 42-inch entertainment monitor.
ANA New First Class is certainly one of the best ways to fly to and from Japan, and I can't wait for my next flight onboard - perhaps together with a long-awaited visit to Japan after they reopen their borders.

When you fell asleep at the beginning of the trip you had me worried that you were going to miss a meal and leave us with half a review. In the end though, with sheer determination, you came through with "flying" colors!😅.

They now have the best first class product in my opinion. The food was excellent as always; you couldn't get hungry on an ANA flight. The Suite was just brilliant. Liked and subscribed

It’s not often that I watch a full trip report at 23:45, but this report was fantastic and incredibly enjoyable. I have never travelled overseas, but this video made it feel as if I were. Subscribed with notifications on. Excited for new trip reports as well as reports not only on first and business class.

Looks fantastic. I think what differentiates the Japan experience is the incredibly tasty and refined food, quality of service, and of course the washlet toilets! I live in Germany now, so tend to use Emirates to fly to Japan (rather than split the points). But sometimes I might try ANA just to get the magical Japan experience!

Wow! I have flown by QSuites, but ANA’s “Room” is even better. Then again its not fair to compare business class with first class. The food and service seem to be eclectic. I have a question though, how much of the Hibici 21 could you finish? 😁

Really enjoyed the video, and the food look outstanding. I just flew from Manila to Korea and then from Korea to Dallas via Korean Airlines, Did the Prestige Class and they sure feed you alot of food as well, not as good as ANA but I was still impressed.

It wasn't all too difficult in the leadup to May 2022 since Japan is still largely closed for tourism. But looking deeper into 2023 it's getting more difficult. Best to look at the very end of the schedule (June 2023 at this rate) and see if you can find a one-way rather than a round-trip (take a different flight in the other direction)

Just wondering did you interline the your luggage or did you just carryon? I am taking the flight to Narita on First but have seen various things both positive and negative regarding checking through your luggage even if the next flight (on a separate ticket) is star alliance. ANA rep said no but their carriage terms seem like you can do it. Any thoughts or experiences?

really good review, enjoyed. I just flew "the Room" last month to tokyo. I had the "suite" reserved but it got cancelled because they changed from 777 to 787 but then they changed back so I was in business class. I was bummed that I couldn't fly F but the room was good.

Couple of months out -- though booking in Feb 2022 for May 2022 is very different than booking right now for the future, given how much has changed in people's travel patterns!

This is honestly one of the best tastefully designed luxury first class I have ever seen . Compared to the predictable emirates first class , ANA def blows it out of the park ! Emirates first class seems incredibly distasteful and tacky - the epitome of money can’t buy taste ….. 😹

@@ricobarth Of course not applying to all things though. sequins most of the time are cheap and tacky, Swarovski crystals are expensive and they look amazing. Emirates first class to me definitely caters to the "new money" audience where they think that famous designer name brand clothes are the epitome of fashion and style. And "old money" individuals can just have a flight on their private jet. At least Emirates first class product isn't built poorly, it looks expensive and it's of high quality...that's not tacky to me. (Again imo)

@@ricobarth Not Necessarily. Tacky means of poor taste and quality. Emirates is a rich company and I doubt they would have poor quality materials and a lousy build job on their planes considering their reputation. And as for taste, it's based on how you want to feel during travel ig.
