Why so many open positions? Could it be they threatened DOC employees to get the vaccination or be fired? Then they did not carry through however many staff left. Also they had a director who cared more about offenders than staff. They have hired people under the age of 21 and hired former DOC inmates to work there. DOC needs to be investigated. Staff are in danger not only from being overworked but working in unsafe conditions.
Doesn't help that Polis sent a video to Staff about the vaccine policies he put in place that made a mockery of their profession... He is a joke. It all starts there...
They don't use the SHU from what I hear? So inmates can kill a C.O. and be back in general population with no administrative segregation? No help with housing if you wanted to get a job at a certain location ect.....
It is truly sad how hard they work the correctional officers and how little they truly care about their staff. Inmates are cared about more than the staff! A year later the vacancies are an issue because they mandated vaccines and their covid policies were insane... why are they acting so shocked? Oh wait, Polis legalized working at CDOC and being able to smoke pot now. That should fix it 🤣🤣 Some facilities have been working months on 12 hour mandatory shifts 4 days a week and expected to still work overtime...
They increased the shift to 10 or 12 hours, but that doesn't help the shortage of employees. As a former correction employee, before I resigned I worked many days in a row. 9 days in a row after I got COVID. They'll kill a person one way or another
They don't use the SHU from what I hear? So inmates can kill a C.O. and be back in general population with (no administrative segregation)? No help with housing if you wanted to get a job at a certain location like Sterling ect..... I declined the job offer 2 years ago. Best decision I ever made based on this.
July 1 2022 Benjamin Shuler. RIP Brother. Wrecked his car after a overnight shift at colorado territorial correctional facility. It's not any particular day it's the amount of overtime that's killing correctional officers and the feds out of Florence right now are no better.
I used to work at Limon Correctional Facility and when I quit, it was within seconds of another seasoned officer quitting in our Lieutenant’s office. We were in there at the same time! Officers were leaving in droves! Officers who had been there for years and years and who didn’t even have another job to go to. No one cared anymore! We were just sick of being treated like less than an inmate because of the BS that they were putting us through. I’ll never go back! Would not recommend! 2 ⭐️
He and I worked at the same facility. It’s marinade! Not just here. I work at a different facility in a different state now and I work 16 hour shifts every single day…4 days in a row with only 2 ways off! It’s fukking cruel!
One day people will understand that the Staff working in these facilities should be seen as more important than the Offenders. Some good changes have been made but what would really do the trick is to up the pay to match the surrounding areas and then return the standards to a higher level. 59k a year is not worth the amount of garbage these men and women have to deal with. Specially with how entitled the offender population is becoming.
@@Stinkfingers maybe after working consecutive 12 hr shifts on graveyard lmfao C’mon man! Sometimes less is more. Which in this case would’ve been way better. Matthew would still be with us.
Your comments get dumber. I was making $55k a year with no overtime. Now they get a 3% pay raise the next 3 years, not to mention $12k in signing bonuses. So stop while you're behind.
If you're a police officer working this job if I were you I would reconsider you have families to look after and there's a Time coming we're looking after that family is going to be a lot more important than serving your job because the people that you're going to be forced to face in that job are the very people that you are pulling away from their families so think about this if you want to go home to your family don't you think we want to go home to our family you might want to start thinking about this I would be quitting my job if I were you guys
Should dig a bit deeper 13. Up in Sterling facility they're putting people on schedules that haven't even attended the academy yet. The numbers are worse than what they're giving you.
