My favorite of this group also. The sound is enchanting. I had no idea such an instrument existed. I have a Hohner soprano from the 1960's, but unfortunately some of the reeds have corroded and will not play.

How I wish the vintage hohner melodicas could get popular again and receive some upgrade (perhaps on the components/outlook)... I honestly feel that despite the appearance though, the vintage hohner soprano sounds the nicest among them. It has a very unique sound that none of the modern melodicas I find could reproduce.

I have the vintage hohner soprano. It belonged to my grandmother and only received it recently from my mom. It's pretty awesome, although the top note needs to be either fixed or replaced, it's a little chipped at the bottom and won't support itself unless I push it back up.

after listening to samples, from this video and others, the Angel sound is my favorite sound of them all. to me, it sounds the least like a harmonica, the most like an accordion. some people are saying it sounds like a "muffled" Yamaha, but i disagree. it has a richer, more resonant sound, whereas the Yamaha sound is crisp and clean, which is fine, just not what i wanted. i ended up finding an Angel on ebay, but unfortunately they're hard to find and therefore you pay through the nose for shipping, so they end up being in the $80-120 (USD) range! you're lucky you found an inexpensive one a few years back. maybe they quit making them, no idea why they're hard to find now.
