13-month-old red angus unbred heifers with super gentle disposition and hot wire broke. There are 12 of these heifers, not 10 like I said in the video! These heifers would be ready to breed in July 2023 for calving the following spring. You just can't find cattle that are this gentle which makes handling them a real pleasure. My friend that is selling them had a terrible accident and will be laid up for a minimum of 6 months, therefore he is forced to sell them. The heifers will be ultra-sounded by a veterinarian to ensure they are not bred. For more info on the auction go to our website: greenpasturesfa... and click on the tab at top of page: Livestock For Sale.

Thanks for the video! If I was ready for some more, I know what I would do. I hope he gets better real fast. Nothing worse being injured and can’t do anything.

South Poll May Sell better where you Farm but we farm Red Angus Limousins and Charolais and Stabilise and Hereford are the main breeds not South poll
@gregjudyregenerativerancher
It all depends on where you live and the marketing of your breed.

I love the red Angus world be brilliant too put to a Red Angle bull. Why put a South poll bull on these heifers really. As Red Angus you will get more Money. Than if you would crossing with a South Poll bull really. What l don’t understand why US farmers are not working together change the Way you Sell your livestock in the US from farm to plate really
@gregjudyregenerativerancher
South Poll grass genetic cattle sell better than red angus for direct marketing. Folks that want to make money with their forage in hot humid areas are waking up. Animals that slick off in the summer heat perform better than longer haired cattle.

It really depends on your market. As Greg pointed out, if you are selling grass fed and finished beef directly then small framed cattle raised for that sort of thing like a south poll works better. If people are taking cattle to the sale barn they will more times out of not be severely docked for having these small frame cattle. If you are selling at the sale barn I would run a good black angus bull on these. I would be curious on the breeding behind these red angus heifers. I have a herd of pure bred red angus that are moderate in size for the breed and they mature at 1200-1300 pounds, not 950. Also, there is no doubt the south poll slicks off well and does good in the heat but my red angus slick off and do great as well. But, I don’t keep anything that doesn’t slick off by early summer.

I can't imagine what the owner is going through thank you for helping him out. conducting the auction on his behalf Certainly is the best way going forward the potential new owners know your reputation and can be assured that they have an opportunity to buy animal that are worth having. On rereading what I wrote I can see the influence my nephew has since he has been helping me the last two years I have learned to use the phrase "" the best way going forward " It's 5:18 my special reminder to give thanks to remember those who dwell in my heart with gratitude and to remember the love I receive d and gave in the past and the love I will receive and will give in the present and future . It is astonishing how often I encounter the number sequence 518 during any given day. 😘💞💕💞🤗🍀❤️🍀🖖🖖🖖🖖🍀❤️🍀👍👍👍👍🍀❤️🍀🙋🏼‍♀️
