This might be the most Diresta video ever. You're right, I won't be using any of the techniques shown because I've only been a hobby maker and wood worker for 10 years. Its likely I'll never posses the confidence or competence to pull any of these tricks off. And that's okay. I continue to watch your videos for inspiration. Shop safety is the responsibility of the person in their shop. 👍

I might have worked with that guy. He is the guy that I learned electrical from. He didn't have a tool bag or a pouch. He just carried a pair of side cutters, channel locks, and a flat blade Klein screwdriver. That and a pocket knife could do most anything.

Pencil sharpening is not so easy on the table saw. You have to use a CNC for that. All the best and thank you for this safety advice

Putting a groove in a piece of wood with a circular saw is just ingenious and I will NEVER! steal that idea and use it. Never! And apparently I've been changing my bits in a drill the dangerous way forever. Thank you for showing me what I've been doing so dangerously all these years. You're a saint!

I've used all these shortcuts at one time or another except the nail gun one. Nail guns are unpredictable tools and I've seen more injuries with them over all other wood working tools in my lifetime. Nails shot into feet, hands and legs I've seen it all. Looking forward to the old house episodes. Cheers 🇨🇦

I just reminded myself about not cutting wide pieces that are shorter than the blade diameter on a table saw with the fence in place. Fired the workpiece across the shop and broke it in half on my bicep as it went by. Hadn’t seen that stupid shit since college, when someone did it with a sheet of lexan, and fired a piece through the metal shop vac behind them. I should be safe for another 20 years on this reminder! 😂😂😂

I tried these... They all worked great! I am typing this with my nose right now, but the projects are all done! Thank you! I have a fork I hold in my mouth now to hold the shift key down when I need to. You get really good at it after awhile.
