This might be the most Diresta video ever. You're right, I won't be using any of the techniques shown because I've only been a hobby maker and wood worker for 10 years. Its likely I'll never posses the confidence or competence to pull any of these tricks off. And that's okay. I continue to watch your videos for inspiration. Shop safety is the responsibility of the person in their shop. 👍

Pencil sharpening is not so easy on the table saw. You have to use a CNC for that. All the best and thank you for this safety advice

ALWAYS back-up your circular saw cuts with a cast iron surface.

The best ever episode - the reason I want a table saw for my workshop is so I don't cut circles or curves in wood! I'd never dream of doing that!

I've used all these shortcuts at one time or another except the nail gun one. Nail guns are unpredictable tools and I've seen more injuries with them over all other wood working tools in my lifetime. I just reminded myself about not cutting wide pieces that are shorter than the blade diameter on a table saw with the fence in place. Fired the workpiece across the shop and broke it in half on my bicep as it went by. Hadn’t seen that stupid shit since college, when someone did it with a sheet of lexan, and fired a piece through the metal shop vac behind them. I should be safe for another 20 years on this reminder! 😂😂😂

I tried these... They all worked great! I am typing this with my nose right now, but the projects are all done! Thank you! I have a fork I hold in my mouth now to hold the shift key down when I need to. You get really good at it after awhile.

At first I thought this was gonna be a "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed" Dad Jimmy video. But after the second long pause in the intro, I realized this was gonna be a "Hey kid, watch this" Fun Uncle Jimmy video.

The groove with the circular saw was 🤌But a great bit of advice at the end, "don't do anything that makes you uncomfortable." If you get that feeling in your stomach before you're about to make a dangerous cut, probably should take a step back and think of alternatives...
