My buddy is a golf genius. No matter how many strokes it takes him to put the ball in the hole, he writes down one more than I took. Shaved 15 strokes off his game overnight.
There is literally not an episode Matty boom boom doesn't have me laughing my ass off. And all that while still giving great advice. Best golf channel by a MILE.
Can we please get some merch that says “Club Confidential “ or “Confidential Club” something along those lines. Maybe a bucket hat or t shirt with that phrase on it. I’d love that so much! You’re hands down my favorite RU-vid golf channel! Keep it up!
Honestly mate your videos have helped so much. I'm a 20ish Handicapper (been 19 through to 24), and hadn't broken 90 - got close a few times, but it always eluded me. Today was the day - hit an 86 at my course which is a real bastard of a course. Legit just kept thinking about what club felt most confidential as I stood over ever shot - backed up and changed a couple of times when the confidential-ness wasn't there. Still left a lot of shots out there - some silly missed putts and a couple of messed up short shots towards the end of the round - but man, felt like a baus - can't wait to have a hit again.
I started playing again last year after a 10 year pause. And even then I was never very good. I broke 100 only a few times. I started taking things serious since starting up again. I found your channel a few months ago and following your approach I am not only in the low 90s consistently but I broke 90 (86) for the first time ever. Whadda playa! Whadda a life. Your advice has completely changed my approach to the game and course.
Well doen on breaking 90! What worked for me was spending as much time on the practise greens as I did on the range. Also a bit of chipping and bunker stuff goes a heckuva long way to better scrambling eggs.
Excellent advice Mattie boomboom. I often use a 3 hybrid off the tee, 180-200yards and 80% on fairways. Only lose 1 ball a round now, was 9 balls 3 years ago coz of Driver scattergun.
Got to scratch a few years back, lived on the chipping and putting green, and played the game very much like Golf Sidekick, practically identical. Course management and being in tune with how your game is on that given moment and day is just the best way to play the game period.
Fantastic video, as always! Really appreciated the straightforward breakdown of what makes a golfer not just good, but smart. The tips on course management and knowing one's actual distances instead of chasing those one-off perfect shots are pure gold. It’s refreshing to see advice that focuses on playing smart instead of just hard. This really helps in shifting perspective towards a more strategic approach to the game. Thanks for sharing your insights and keep the great content coming!
PGA Tour driving distance averages are calculated on 2 drives per round. No one on there cares about 320 in the rough They would take 280 in the fairway everyday
So after playing this game over 50 years, (62 years old) I believe based on this video, I have officially become a “golf genius”. Since I’ve been watching your videos, my mindset has become much more focused and I’m now playing the best golf of my life. I’ve incorporated all of these 13 mindsets into my game and didn’t even realize it until I watched! Granted, stopping drinking beer on the course may have had an impact, but playing to my strengths and managing the course has been phenomenal. If I could only putt better I would be a 2 handicap. Thanks Matty boom boom!
I have to say that I don't enjoy watching your content because you teach me something new. I love your content because you affirm my mindset and strategies around the game are pointing me in the right direction which make me more confident in my playing. Confidence in the process was what i needed and you continue to provide it. Thank you!
Geez Matty, that’s kinda sacrilegious talking about beating Steven Ballesteros… Steven Ballesteros is in my top 6 all time favorite golfers…John Rahm loves Steven!! Great video…
I know why a lot of people think blasting balls as far as they can helps: because it's much harder to practice your short game as errors stand out far more so it's harder to excuse!
yeh the socks definitely contribute to driver confidentiality. I couldn't hit my driver socks down. The second I pulled them up it was two tickets to Boomtown....
Hola. I thought Dr. Bob taught us to always put to hole it? I agree with the pace control priority, but I would not expect the Stimp Daddy to just leave it close.
im probably a dumb golfer but i just like to hit the driver and take risky shots dont really care about my handicap :) still if you wanna improve your handicap this is great advice!
I’m still sometimes like this where I derive my joy from hitting a couple of sensational golf shots in a round. If you actually want to shoot lower scores and you derive your joy from actually playing well the this advice is gold
There’s nothing wrong with seeing golf as a chance to smash drivers and lay golf cart girls unsuccessfully. I use my non filmed rounds where i drop the sarcastic condescending attitude and rip it like hell with the driver. Often losing lots of balls but smashing
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NEDbgS0u3Y8.html i pay for the license so i cant share the proper version i think this is a sample version above
@@GolfSidekick makes my Willy twitch that bad boy. I’m fully confidential in playing that tune in my van. Let me know when you’re in the U.K. and you can help me get from 12.3-7 handicap
Whenever I need a boost of confidence on the course, I always come back to the Golf Sidekick. He has such an elegant way of telling you to get your head out of your ass. GIOTG 2 putt and GTFO
4/28/24 follow up. I just broke 80 today for the 2nd time ever. 39-39. No joke, I read Putting out of your Mind; I forgot about consequences (Koepka); I played smart course management and tee'd off with 4 or 5 irons sometimes; and I drained a few long dads. Also that tall standing chip was $$$$$$$$$$$$$. 1 fat 9 iron all day. I ❤U. Come to Georgia, USA.
I like how around the 2 min mark, you purposely shanked your 5w into the water. Funny thing is that even though you did that likely on purpose, it’s actually the more probable result for most golfers and especially if they wait a while for the green they’ll never hit to clear 😂 I go for my share of par 5’s but not when there’s trouble looming and only when I know a shank will still be an okay layup.
Posted 20 mins ago. A view a minute. Meaning by tomorrow it will have 1440 views. By next week it will have over 10k views. You're definitely not a genius.
I am a golf genius and your leaf alignment trick reminded me one reason why. Syzygy. Not only is that a really high scoring scrabble word, it is also the perfect alignment of three celestial bodies, AND they key to my aiming.
Thank you very much for your work. They help me to understand my own game, and teach me to think my game. I am a high handicap golfer and I need this kind of help. Thank you very much and greetings from Spain.
"Beautiful read, huh? ... You know what I''m saying? Shiiiiii ... " You can take the boy out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out of the boy. :)
Playa…I want the dimple shirt in golf ball colors (neon yellow, green, white perhaps). I want shorts in orange, red, and designs. I want plain-ish color shirts in light blue, purple, dark blue. I want pants in black and white. Don’t you want my money? Stop slacking on the store.
I think he means, find the distance in practice then bring smoothness to the course. You will prove to yourself in the practice facility that you have great distance. At the course, you’ll know that you don’t need all of it, all the time. rather that you have it in reserve.
Hulk Hogan only ever tried to hit a shot in a round that he had practised 200 times before....! He was a golf genuis withmuitlpe mojors to his name and a swing that Tiger envied.
