We're immigrating to Ottawa this year, I'm looking forward to hiking but I'm terrified of bear encounters :/

The majority of bears don't want anything to do with you and will not bother you on a trail. The problem generally arises when humans leave food out on campsites and the bears learn to associate humans with food. You'll have a great time hiking around Ottawa!

You could, depending on what you want to do there, but it's a big park! In the past, we have stayed at a hotel outside the park and drove in for the day. Have fun!

Hi, we have seen bear, moose, beaver, turtles, snakes, frogs, salamanders, mink, lots of birds, many more that I’m probably forgetting! Morning and evening are usually best for sightings. Have fun!
