Thank you for glamorizing my home city! Born and raised there but moved to the East Coast at 12. I am feeling like I needed to go back to my roots, so I'm exploring the internet to see my old home I grew up in, my old school before it got demolished, and just Windsor in general! I wanna go back to Ontario for a visit, but I wanna go back to Windsor for sure.
We really enjoyed visiting Windsor, it was actually my first time ever there. Seems like there are some great attractions and I really liked the waterfront. Hope you get to visit again one day.
I've lived in Windsor for 12 outta almost 18 years and you managed to make Windsor look like L.A. I'm extremely impressed and surprised, quality vid right here
You think making Windsor look like LA is positive? Those people in LA are crazily stupid. The tents, homeless people, needles and human drops. They even have an app to map the human poops in the city. Of course some still rich but stupid people, they are the shame of the society. I like Windsor, but like LA, no thanks.
Can you believe that I grew up in Detroit, but have never been to Windsor? Next time, I'm back to visit family, I'm definitely going. There's plenty to see and do and those river views are amazing. Great tips!
I grew up in Windsor, and visit often since I now live near Detroit, and it's often overshadowed by bigger cities so thank you for this video! I've been stuck stateside for nearly 2 years because of the pandemic and this video helped me with my nostalgia! Thanks for reminding me of things to do when I visit again.
I will be visiting the city of Windsor for the Sept,2022 long weekend, I really appreciate watching this video so many fun things to do while there. Thank you!
Greetings from Phoenix, Arizona 🇺🇸. I live near Urban art area's we have it alot in Downtown Phoenix area. The urban art is what I like. Windsor looks very nice suburban culture type vacation. Good place to raise families there. Very impressive.
I grew up in Toledo and have a lot of family and friends in the Detroit area....I've spent a LOT of time in Windsor when I was younger. Love the Riverwalk areas. Next time I am up that way I am going to use your tips and know some new places to try! Thanks for sharing!!
I've never been to Toledo! I'd like to visit more of the US when I can. Windsor is lovely and we were in Detroit about 10 years ago, so it's time to go back! Hope the tips can be helpful :)
This is beautiful! The skyline is soooo beautiful. The Coventry Gardens looked so cool too, but I'd love to do all of these things! Thank you so much for sharing. I hope to visit this awesome city soon!
For #11, that area is used for all sorts of things like Blues Fest, Rib Fest, Freedom Festival. Before the pandemic the Freedom Fest would double the population of Windsor during the fireworks show.
Really freedom ? So if I go there can I talk about transgender are no women without being called transphobic ? and talk about Isreal doesn't exist and they killing Palestinian without being called antisemitic??? Wow I love that FREEDOM fest I definitely need to go there ... is FREEDOM festival right ?!😏
Great video of a city with a lot of history and memories. My neice and her husband were married at Willistead Manor, a wonderful place to visit. Thanks for posting.
Great video thou most was in Walkerville and downtown. Sandwich Town which dates back to late 1700s has incredible historic buildings with restaurants and a brewery.
I want to do a working holiday in Canada, Windsor is on my list of places to live and work, sending you guys lots of love from Australia. (The other places are Toronto and the obvs Vancouver).
Everytime we see your videos it makes us want to visit some breweries. The manor house and garden look so perfectly manicured! Windsor looks like a very pretty place to visit with a mix of modern architecture along with some more historical looking places. So different to the Windsor we have here in England!
Haha we have that boozey effect on people 😂 It definitely is much different than your Windsor, but I'm pretty sure that's where our Windsor stole the name from!
I had no idea that it was the southernmost city in Canada. So pretty during the Summer, so much to do and see! They have such great street art too! I also didn't know about the international film festival that takes place there. So much to do there, hope we get to visit one day!
It was my first time ever visiting - so I'm not sure how the other seasons would be. I think summer is probably best for the river views and activities.
@@canuck33 - There are other portions of Canada that are located South of some of the 'contiguous' United States, but the vast majority of them are clearly focused to Southern Ontario to Eastern Ontario and extreme Southern Quebec because of the manner in which these regions extend and 'dig' to the SW. Extreme Southern Quebec, for example, is farther South than the Northern tier of Maine, as well as farther South of most of the extreme Northern states across the Western United States (such as North Dakota, and much of Minnesota or Montana), as well as being on par with and slightly farther South of extreme Northern Michigan. Windsor, Ontario, however, is situated so much to the South that it surpasses the Southern extents of many states, being in line with central Iowa's latitude, for instance. Even farther South of Windsor is Leamington, and even more, an island in Lake Erie hugging the international border, called Middle Island (just South of Pelee Island, which is accessed by ferry from Leamington via Highway 77 South). The Southern tip of Middle Island would be, as far as I know, the most Southern point of Canada by land.
Had so much fun in this city! The bull + barrel is an awesome bar to go to for good nightlife! Had a great time at craft heads brewery, Caesars + treehouse as well what a fun little city. Oh and its one of the only cities in canada with bird scooters. Leave them wherever you want and pick them up all over the city. So fun :)
My half brother he lives in Windsor three times I visit him & I am from Saskatoon it’s nice place close to Michigan.. and then I went with my friends to visit Detroit my cousin lives there and I wish to go back again but the pandemic is bad
Just to let you know Windsor has some great pizza too if you ever come again since lock down is over I really like Sam's pizza by the university of Windsor 💙💜💙 oh and Jackson park is pretty too
The sculpture park sense like an awesome place to go for a walk, you'd definitely find us there or one of the local craft breweries, we're just like you guys in that way already try to find a local brewery and a coffee roaster
Windsor sounds like a great place to visit. Such amazing public art! Sculpture walk is such a cool feature. The food and beer scene looks really swell too. And I LOVE old lighthouses.
This is such a great list of things to do in Windsor. I love the Riverfront Trail and the art murals. That's so cool how there is a map showing you the locations of all the different street art. Of course I am all about trying the craft beer and food! I had no idea that you could drive to Detroit from Windsor...that would be a fun thing to do!
Thanks! It was a fun weekend and we liked that most of the attractions were located by the river. Yeah Detroit and Windsor are so close - next time I hope we can cross over.
Great Video! I'm from Windsor and live very near to the light house; right next door to it is The Harbour House which is the only restaurant we have that actually has a patio on the water, and fantastic food too. Also if you cross the street from the light house the trail there will take you to the Ganachio trail which is over 10km of walkable trails, with beautiful forrest and wild life :) I also suggest Ojibway Park, and the restaurants on Erie street, or little Italy as we know it.
Hi guys, wow Windsor is so beautiful and there is so much to do there. The loose goose looks awesome. I think the urban art / murals are so absolutely awesome. Yay for the mentioning the Breweries 🎉 they look awesome especially the second one after having a full day of travel they have a good selection. The Casion looks so lovely, such a pitty it was closed. Love getting a glimpse of a lighthouse in each city. Thanks for showing us awesome things to do in Windsor, we hope to get an opportunity to travel there one day.
this is my first time in your channel. I was looking videos from Windsor but there is not to many or no fresh videos. so thank you for this video I love it!
Wow Windsor is so pretty in the summer. We'd love the mural tour and all the gardens. Reminds us a lot of St. Pete! Really cool that they closed down part of the street to make extra dining room for the downtown restaurants. The selection of beers at the second brewery looked amazing. More often than not we end up with stouts and ipa's too. Someday we are going to have to go brewery hopping with you guys!!
Yes we definitely will need to go brewery hopping one day! It's definitely a great summer city to visit - not sure about winter... but one day I'll have to try. We liked all the restaurant options and everything was very walkable.
I went to a restaurant called Tunnel BBQ. The food was great. The price was reasonable. One of the best restaurants I went to. It’s too bad it closed down. Did anyone went to the restaurant.
You know I have been to Detroit several times and would always look over the river at Windsor but never went over (probably because I usually didn't have my passport). But this was nice to see Windsor from the inside instead of the outside looking in. I loved how the brewery changed things up for tastings during the pandemic. It has a nice seating area outside. Oh wow, the casino is closed. Has it been closed since March 2020?
Nothing really special here. The casino was closed, opened back up, and just closed again. But, it's always nice going down to the river on a nice, hot summer day.
what a great place top visit!!! you've made me hungry now haha! i love art and this place had so many cool murals!!! i love it!! street art all the way! got to love e a good beer or brewery!! i would love to visit the lighthouse too!! great video :)
Cute lil' dino sculpture! We do like to check out some street art... Wayne likes stouts and porters, but prefers IPAs... Cool to see the huge ship's wake... We really got into lighthouse hunting while in Maine last October!
Born and raised in the W... Good video but one thing ppl should know who visit Windsor is that it's famous for its pizza and prolly the best in North America and famous for our little Italy and better than any in Ontario and Canada
Canada is such a beautiful country that I want to visit one day. Your video is really informative. Glad to have you and our friend Uta in Canada. Would be easier for me when I get there. Keep doing your good videos.
It's a lovely country! I actually have to get out to Uta's province, I haven't been to British Columbia yet. Thanks so much, glad it was informative. 😊
I would love to follow the map of that street art - the pieces you showed looked great! I love that your videos always involve breweries 😄 Geronimo IPA was a great name for a beer!
I think the backdrop is main reason for me to visit the sculpture park. I rather do the riverfront trail. I will not make my standard comment about breweries, of course that is covered here. A pity to see that the casino is closed, would be good to understand why you think this is a good visit, sounded like a standard casino. I would love to come when the International Film Festival is taking place.
Just stumbled on your channel and we love to connect with fellow travellers! What a super helpful list of things to do in Windsor! We have never been, but if we were to visit, we would use this list for sure! Beer Gardens and visiting the downtown are always fun things to do! Love your whole list! For sure saved :) Can't wait to see more! We subscribed as well!
