Been playing guitar for a couple years, picked up one of these at a barbecue and I might as well have never played a stringed instrument with how I sounded. This is insanely impressive
Same experience here. Isn't it ridiculous how different a banjo is to a guitar? I had expected it to be at least vaguely similar to guitar, but boy, was I wrong!
My limited experience with banjo is it's all about the right hand.. whereas guitar is all about the left hand. Very little of what you learn on guitar carries over to banjo..and vice versa. Unless maybe if you play fingerstyle or something.
@@the195111 I did the same exact thing, after buying my 3rd guitar I told my wife I wouldn't buy anymore guitars except that I did buy another one...FOR HER!!! I played about 43-45 years ago and I turn 68 in November, but I digress. I saw a 5 string banjo for an excellent price and I bought it...and here I am looking for instruction ;)
I had the fortune of meeting Flatt and Scruggs when I was 16 in 1966. They came through late one night and stopped at the gas station where I worked in the summer. They were in a black limo and were on their way to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for a concert. They entertained me a while with chat and music. It was wonderful.
Thanks for all the kind comments of me and my playing. I want to thank all of my subscribers from changing my 11 subs to now over 4,000! - Ayden Young (Pianjo Player)
Great job! I got a banjo when I was about fifteen but I never got the hang of it. I tried to play in the style of Lee Blair and the early jazz pioneers, but eventually sold it. Cheers!
Just imagine all of the other scary directions a 13 year old could be going nowadays, but this middle-schooler is enthralled with playing the 5 string banjo and Bluegrass music. What a blessing for his parents.
Something about the brain when you are young is very absorbing of information. I mean consider you learn a language by ear when you are just a baby. Many GM chess players are also trained from young ages.
Loved watching Jimmy Henley when he was a kid. Just saw him on a rerun of Hee Haw from the 70's when he was 12 or 13 just last week. So sad that he died. We were around the same age.
Well, the program is here for a reason. They're interested in the background and context. Otherwise it'd be a talent show. The performance is important, yes, but not the main part (it could be seen as one of the main parts, but discrediting explanations as "jaw-yapping" isn't true).
i know im randomly asking but does anybody know a tool to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost my login password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@@mariosolomon2513 I would imagine if you have not done so there should be a link below the sign in field to retrieve your user ID and to reset your password most sites will send the information to the email they have for you good luck
Most impressed with the kid. The hostesses were annoying though. But the patience to hear the kid play was worth it. If he didn't limit himself, I imagine he's even better now.
