13-year-old Becomes First Human to Beat Tetris: All You Need to Know | Vantage with Palki Sharma
A 13-year-old boy from Oklahoma has finally defeated the "impossible" game. Willis Gibson became the first human to beat Tetris. Tetris video game has been a worldwide sensation for decades. Its mobile version is the third best-selling video game of all time. It has been sold 100 million times. Gibson reached level 157 of Tetris causing the game to crash. How did he win it? How does the importance of Gibson's win go far beyond the realm of arcade games? What can we learn from it? Palki Sharma explores.

The amount of research this team put into this video, explaining the unbelievable feat this boy achived, is remarkable. A lot of people can't understand why "beating a 40 year old game" is as big of a deal as it is. The team, abd especially reporting woman did a great job explaining everything necessary to honor the boy and this "historical" moment. And I respect this news channel for that.

It is not about "is this even a news or not" it is about a human winning over a machine which is supposedly immune to physical and mental exhaustion. It gives a positive sign that future is still Human.
@vik24oct1991
@vik24oct1991 7 месяцев назад
beat the machine by playing like a machine, so how is future still human when you become like a machine, this is like women becoming great wrestler at level of men by being strong and powerful like men and then losing their femininity and then claiming that a woman can do it, well the question remains then can a woman be called a woman without her femininity, so in truth really a man won the wrestling match, similarly here a human didn't win it but a human who played it like a machine did and hence in truth a machine beat another machine.
@pranjalfrompurwa
@pranjalfrompurwa 7 месяцев назад
@vik24oct1991 That woman didn't become a man. She just lost much of her femininity. You just cannot become a man just by training. Anyways back to the topic. He is a human who beat that machine. It is normal in every respect. Playing games is too damn demonised. He is a kid let him enjoy his most beautiful days. Don't say that you wouldn't have played it if back then these games were as accessible as they are today.
@timestampAi
@timestampAi 7 месяцев назад
@Pranjal So,you think losing life and firing some nuclear is news. Future is still human? why not,human makes future and human is also a machine bro. You think, to be a machine, metal and wire is compulsory 😅. Human is machine and Animal.
@vik24oct1991
@vik24oct1991 7 месяцев назад
@@pranjalfrompurwa how do you define a man, using genetics is a shallow definition of a man, similarly how do you separate human from a machine , is biology only difference here ?, if a person was made of metal would he be less of a man, its the properties of things what define it, men are defined by their masculinity, women by their feminity, human by their humanity, you remove all these then you no longer truly remain what you were before. So humans becoming like machine to beat a machine doesn't ensure that humanity survives but rather the opposite, humans will have to become more robotic to survive against robots.
@Karm.K
@Karm.K 7 месяцев назад
@@vik24oct1991That is a very narcissistic take on the whole situation. And one of the biggest flaws in your argument is that we are already machines, the human body is possibly the most complex machine in the world, one that was made after years and years through self research, mutations and the miracle of evolutionary biology. The difference is that although both are machines, both aren't robots. There is a big difference between a machine and a robot, and one of the biggest differences is that a robot, unlike this kid would not have celebrated winning the game like he did, it would not have felt the emotions this kid did as he dedicated his victory to his father who is no more, that's what makes it beautiful. If you don't find that beautiful and inspiring then YOU might as well be a robot, one with a narcissistic bias at that. So grow up, atleast empathytically yeah? And stop sh*tting on a 13 year old kid celebrating something truly amazing for his dead father.

@DB-YGO
@DB-YGO 7 месяцев назад
The speed at Level 29 is the fastest speed the game goes. No matter how far you play, it doesn't get faster. Prior to the Hypertapping and Rolling techniques being pioneered, Level 29 ended games. Holding the left and right arrows in the traditional playstyle that you or I would use, Level 29 is impossible to get pieces to the far left and right more than 1 or 2 rows at the bottom. In fact, prior to Joseph changing the scene towards Hypertapping in 2018, Level 30 had only been reached maybe 3 times in the game's history, and only by setting up an 8-deep column in the center during Level 28 before the final speed increase, and then the game's RNG had to give the player 2 I-pieces to get 2 Tetrises, plus a couple more lines after that. It was just not feasible to do consistently because of the game's brutal RNG.

I'm not the biggest fan of mainstream media as is the vast majority of citizens globally, having lost trust on the institution as most news anchors, reporters, "journalists" aka urinalists etc are talking heads to keep the narrative of the 2030 agenda, WEF, ESG/DEI, Blackrock etc BUT, compliments to this lady, Palki Sharma, who has shown more grace and respect to this kid and his accomplishment(Unlike that other lady from SkyNews, whom I don't hate, but made the unfortunate mistake of "lol videogames lame" that many non-gamers make and then the internet dogpiles on her, as is online tradition) and is the only who has also reported more in depth about the details whole ordeal, a quick rundown of the history of the game, an easy how and why the "crash" /killscreen happens, referencing the coding yadda yadda and how important traditions are, which modern world is in a quick rush to have each nation/communities to erase them. If Gibson was my kid, I'd be pretty stoked as a parent just on the fact that my kid set a goal for himself and actually accomplished said task.

To people who don't understand the exactly how extraordinary this kid is, let's just dumb it down and compare it to any other sport- his mental endurance, perseverance, fine motor skills and reflexes were so fast that it beat what was even possible for a software to keep up. Unlike what Palki reported, the game actually ends when the it literally cannot be any faster and be functional, meaning the kid was faster than what was possible for the game's software. What blows my mind is that he has only been playing tetriz for less than 3 years... Have we ever had anybody get so excellent in anything they've been doing for just 3 years?

So glad he is playing Nintendo. Every child should always start at the bottom. It is the ONLY way they value anything. Sadly, there are far too many parents who want them to have the best everything. Most of these parents say, 'I don't want my kid to suffer like I did' And that is poor parenting. A child does not understand how you suffered. So, you're giving them all this to make yourself "feel" better. They don't know any better. This is why we have so many spoiled and entitled kids in this country. They don't know what it feels like to start at the bottom. They don't value clean water. They don't value their home. They don't value nice clothes. They don't value a running car. They don't value food. They just take it for granted. They learn very early to be completely dependent on others to provide for them. And people wonder why kids today are pretty useless, entitled, lazy and have bad attitudes.

Always believed the newer and younger would surpass the older generation on top of what elders have built. Super 👌 👍

Excellent memory skills. I’m sure there was a learning curve that led to this moment.

Bro, video games doesn't want only memory skills bruh!!!! It's a hand-eye coordination based thing. As a gamer myself, a gamer could only be good at one or two games but not all video games. As the muscle memory for every game is different. Boomer!

@@keneatstheworld hand eye coordination is a memory skill that is learned and repeat. Don’t know what you’re talking about boomer? Not a boomer 😂

@@keneatstheworld your immaturity shows with lack of discussion skills. Take it from someone trained in physics and science. I don’t use technical terms out of respect that everyone can understand. Reflex is yet another thing to consider which is also learned memory but is a bit of a beast to master. This is why the majority cannot complete these games. They are just to slow. I highly compliment the boy for his trained skill but it would really be a prodigy story if he had played the game for the first time and defeated it without training. This type of skill is rare but does exist.
