Hello fellow firewood fanatics! This is Chris and I'm just letting you all know that I will not be answering any comments for about 10 days, I'm going on a deer hunting trip to South Dakota with my brothers. So play nice while I am gone! There WILL BE a video every day for you to watch (my son is making sure of it) so you can get your firewood fix in. Thanks, Chris!
hey chris, just found your channel a few weeks ago and have been binge watching like crazy, I just ordered that splitter yesterday thanks for the awesome videos, i also watched alot of Andrews videos.
Hi Chris!!😀😀 What a beautiful sight. The pile of wood is finished. Oh and the rainbow is pretty cool looking too!! LOL!! Hope your hunting trip is going well. Bring us some pictures of the area you were at if you would!! TTYL!! Logger Al
Hey Chris It’s neat the way the Easton Made Ultra actually moves itself, saw it a few times during the video. Good luck on the hunt my friend. Keep safe.
After 5 days without power we got it back yesterday for about 6 hours and then lost it again for most of the day. Really bad windstorm two days behind a tropical storm. The good news is that the saw and splitter run on gas and don't require electricity. I went a visited a lady on a horse farm today, Tryon is big horse country, and she had 5 nice sized oaks down in her woods that have been limbed and are on the ground and I can drive right to each of them with my little 4wd wood truck. Happy, cool, wood-chucking day are upon us. That Eastonmade is getting it done.
@@InTheWoodyard Thanks, but if I had help I would just run out of wood too work and then I would just have to go get more. I believe some of us may suffer from a wood addiction.
U should get a load handler unloader for the truck. That’s what we use. It works really good. The only bad thing is that you have to stack it longways one the bed. We have a 6.5 foot bed and a face fits good.
Awesome vid that day Chris! I definitely would have subscribed to see more rainbows 🌈In The Woodyard if I wasn’t already subbed lol🔥💯👍. Awesome Ultra Carnage that day! See you soon! Andrew from NB :)
hey chris, just wanted to say that i recommend getting a super split kinetic splitter, the cycle time is 2 seconds! just my opinion, thanks for another great video
What size are you cutting and how long did it take to get the amount of wood you have stacked so you have a dry stuff to sell and wood you can let sit and dry. I’m just starting my own small wood business myself. I’m only doing pick up truck loads as I’m splitting mine all by hand. So far it’s geared more around folks burning for leisure and not heating because I don’t have the supply for that. But maybe some day I will. I’m on the fence with getting the ultra or the 9-16 when I do get around to buying a splitter.
16" long pieces. If your just getting started - START SMALL! Don't go buying a bunch of equipment without a bunch of wood and customers. Watch my first 4-5 videos about starting a firewood business!
Love your videos and your woodlot. Really love that Eastonmade splitter! You've got the right splitting axe too, Fiskars. Just started watching your videos, what state are you in? Stay cool.
I see a lot of splitters now with a groove in the beam that the wedge or pusher rides in, instead of having it clamp around the edges of the beam. How do those work? I'd think it would get clogged with trash falling off the wood?
Chris , longtime fan but this is my first comment. This is actually Brian Selden and I have watched at least 890 of your videos Do have several Questions. When are you returning to original format, producing firewood. Also when are you returning to your core values? IE everything stacked on a pallet off the ground, and covered? As a non fan of cats I have seen enough of them. Be advised I am still a big fan..
@@InTheWoodyard too bad they still didn't make the Lafont 500 two men can split a full cord of wood in 15 minutes. I have split 7 full cords many times by my self in 4 1/2 hours. That had a 5 way wedge.
As we watch video's in Chris' absence while he chases (as always) the almighty buck....please keep in mind the difference between beer nuts and deer nuts. Beer nuts are $1.39 while deer nuts are under a buck. Your subs are growing quicker now. 2 weeks ago I predicted 2K by T-giving. I now think 2K by the end of this week.
Do you cut, split and stack all of those piles by YOURSELF ? Or does your brother/ son / a worker help you ? I get tired just looking at all them piles. Like they say, you get warmed (hot) twice or 3 x before you heat with it.
Stanley Keith Sept. 8 2021 Hello Andrew, I see Chris from the woodyard has an Eastonmade splitter and I, as a you tube watcher thinks it would be good business for you as a smart business man could Help Chris out and maybe take his splitter in on a trade and Help him out with one that has a Log Lift and a wedge lift that he can adjust. Chris has had trouble in the past with his 4 way wedge getting stuck, and had a very hard time getting it unstuck. Chris does not know that I'm telling you this. Chris has a very Big flowing and this would Help you and him both out. Thanks Andrew for your Great Video's on you tube. Chris lives in Wisconsin. Your products are the BEST ! Thank You ! So my understanding oak is not the best seller wood due to how long it takes to dry. I’ll keep that in mind if I get logs dropped of. I know oak burns good but man a year and it’s still that wet. That’s crazy
Iv noticed you have stacks of wood that are stacked differently ,,come crossed stacked ,,some just reg on top each other stacked ,,,,,,why ? The different ways
Is Irene your wife cuz every time you say when you're signing off. It's a good night Irene. I'm thinking that your wife another awesome video Man that is a pile of wood.
Good night Irene is a old song that my father in law used to sing and it was my Grandmas name so in my family we say good bye with- "GOOD NIGHT IRENE!"
Not if you split it down to 2"- 4". It will dry in one year. My customers do not want big chunks that take two hands to lift. They mostly burn for enjoyment in a fireplace.
