That's what makes Tucker Gott one of the awesome youtube channels to watch. Besides demolition ranch(off the ranch) and Adrenaline Addiction of course haha. They're all three amazing.
@Tucker Gott Thank you, thank you thank you for a few things. 1. Thanks for avoiding bad language. It means your videos are a lot more shareable. 2. Thanks for including location MAPS in this video. I was driving myself crazy in other vids! 3. Thanks for showing us how you do things, and sharing the rationale. I was wondering how you were going to "switch tanks," and you showed us! I notice a lot of people are curious, as am I. Pilots carry a HEFE (Human Element Flight Extender) that is approved by the TWBC (Teeny Weeny Bladder Club). You seem to prefer to land for that purpose, but you never explained what happens when you can't land. Is it possible to pee while flying without making a mess?
I can't even imagine how you felt being there and seeing all that... It's right up there with the video where you were flying above the clouds. Stunning. Can't wait to see what you're up next, mate!
"I need a pee break really BAD" "I'm going to abort my pee break landing, that looks like wet muddy sand" seconds later... "I'm dumping my 6 liter bladder" We've all been there.
Very instructive video. Everything from calculating risk, to handling a mishap, to troubleshooting and finally, finding and fixing the problem. A lot of good information here.
That was an epic episode. It was great to listen to your thought processes on this. Glad you made the last 0.8 mile without too much hardship:) All the best Sandy
@@TuckerGott I carried the 50cal and M60 though my time in the service and a full pack, but what kick my but was switching and carrying the radio and kicked my but and that was at most 65lb total (but could've been more) and they had to lighten the load, pull ammo and a mortar round out. So I could keep up. We cover more ground though, but I feel for you ever time you say 80lb.! It also looks awkward on top that!
Interesting idea flying back into the US. ICAO flight plan obviously would be one requirement and arranging Customs on the entry side of the US which can be expensive since you would not be able to land at a port of entry i.e. a Class C or B airport where that might have Customs available. I've not put a lot of time into the research as you have but I would think having a Mode C transponder with a discrete code given to you by ATC prior to crossing the US ADIZ and two way radio VHF to give positions and/or the ability for ATC to coordinate & monitor your flight would be a consideration as to why PPGs are not allowed entry into US airspace. But if you ever figure out a way to pull it off...That would be a awesome video to watch. Cheers to You, Great Job.
Fantastic to watch! An amazing achievement Tucker! My furthest cross country in the 9 years I was paragliding was a mere 20 miles or so from weat to east along the Ochil Hills ridge (Clackmannanshire, Scotland). Early evening in July after a baking hot day. Launched above the village of Menstrie and rode a thermal to 3,000ft+. Soared the ridge west to the Wallace Monument (Braveheart country!), circled it and soared east along the ridge towards Dollar. The ridge lift began to fall as the evening drew in. 1800ft of air rolling down the hillside pushed the heat up from the valley floor. That got me to 4000ft. Silky smooth and balmy! Directly bellow me, the road from Stirling to St Andrews winds up the valley. 9.30pm and still at 2500ft, the eastern sky was darkening and the street lights of Milnathort ahead of me came on. A mate, flying ahead of me had landed in a field next to the road at Yetts O' Muckhart. I thought the better of it and threw in a few 'wing overs' to get down to join him. Picked up by the club landy a half hour later. What a blast! 😃
Just watched!! Glad you made it back safely without a hitch. I believe you were pretty happy when you were picked up outside the grill. Wish you could have filmed that!! Take care!!
All these trips are amazing!!! It makes me want to take my motor to exotic places and just RIP around sometime in the future!!! Keep up the good work tucker!!!
Reminded me of parasailing above Negril, Jamaica in 1995. The blue water, the craggy coral coast, and the vast stretches of palm forest. My flight only lasted 10 minutes, but it was one of the funnest things I ever did. Even though I'm usually afraid of heights, I felt safe. Because I had a parasail. I could land, which I did on the back of a boat. I crushed it! Felt so good. Good video, thanks for bringing back that memory.
Epic. A great adventure and great play-by-play final flight. Thanks for explaining the issues with getting back into the US. Now I know why you didn’t fly across. Thanks TeamFlyHalo and Tucker. Now back to flying XC with Jaclyn. 😎
Does anyone know if he carries a knife? I haven’t heard him mention it or seen it in his gear section of the website. He really really needs one especially when flying over water with a birds nest of lines and a canopy above him.
Hey tucker, after hearing them have that reaction of "aww he has a helicopter on his back" just hearing reactions like that would make me so happy. A cool video idea maybe do a Montage of a bunch of people reacting to seeing you fly n just overall reactions. Because man everyone has a different reaction, I mean who doesn't think a guy paramotoring is just awesome. so yeah a cool video idea " *people reacting to a paramororist* "
Hey Tucker. I was wondering, what was your flotation and reserve status on this trip? Why did you choose not to take your speedbar? It's my understanding the reason Ozone's trim range is so small, is because trims are more dangerous than speedbar. Thanks for sharing. Amazing.
A couple of years back I flew from Miami to Amsterdam. We flew over the Bahama's and it was amazing blue in different shades. Tucker you showed me a birdview of this incredible Islands. I was impressed by the beauty. Thank's to your extraordinary filming and editing. I felt the suspence of the adventure flight and I can imagine that you were happy to have your feet on the ground.
Rippin' awesome flight ! The whole series was great. Great running mental decisions spoken out loud..a lot of considerations in/during a semi-dicey cross country.
Hello Tucker, as usual your videos quality and content are phenomenal. For having electronic failure such as GPS, do you have a compass as backup? Just wondering. Did you see the pigs? I watch steveo1kinevo who flies planes in south Florida and the Bahamas. That's a channel I have watched in the past, and there are wild pigs on one of the islands that people go see and feed.
@@TuckerGott bro you were cookin. It would be sweet to see like your stats up on screen. Im sure even for these long ones, gas consumption is even interesting. Keep safe bro been following for years
@@robdotcom71 I mean look at his resent videos, His getting under 100k views, which is a much smaller count compared to his old videos and his sub count.
95% of being a successful RU-vidr is studying the algorithm. You need to adapt your titles, tags, thumbnails, length, etc to fit the algorithm. Most RU-vidr with 2M-20M subs spend the majority of their time gaming the algorithm, or having someone do it for them.
@@xenonram Get caught gaming the algo and lose everything. Not worth it. I *accidentally* gamed the Google algo by running some kind of SEO-NUKE app on my PC, not having a clue what I was doing, and it seeded the internet with a bunch of shit and the next day my website was BANNED from Google. Completely banned. It's been 10 years since, now, and I still can't get my website to come up on Google. Gaming Google algos=BAD NEWS. Trust me!
Where's the sunglasses and sunblock? I think my eyes would be bugging from the glare in that situation. Looks like fun though, even if it is a bit long for a paramotor flight.
Not that I’ve ever done anything like this, but any time I’ve taken a machine way out of my comfort zone this way, I’m always SOO full of appreciation and respect for the little motor that served me so well and didn’t let me down.
I am new to this channel. I am absolutely glued to your adventures now. I can't stop watching how free and natural your spirit becomes once your in the air . Amazing ! And last, your parents and grandparents should be so very proud of you and your accomplishments. For your a truly fine young person with so much inner knowledge . Curious to know who in your family has been the most inspiring to you for your knowledge is superior .
What a fun adventure! I bet you weren't expecting to be shivering on this trip. That build up you flew over would have the hair on the back of my neck standing up.
So I worked it out , should be correct. Covered 133 miles on 6.1 gallons of fuel which means you got about 21.80mpg , not quite efficient. Also It took 5.5 hours to cover 133 miles which meant you averaged 24.18 mph or 38.91Kmph.
Duuuude! That was amazing watching you fly over our waters. Our island of Bimini Bahamas is an inhabited island literally 48 miles from Miami, would have been crazy for you to fly over from Miami. I love you videos bro, keep um up and keep safe.
Hey man, I know that feeling where the pee almost bursts out of you that it almost comes out of your eyes 😅👀. Happens to me too when I fly longer on my paraglider. I had to land sometimes because of that. GREAT ADVENTURE, Tucker!
Little big island? Lol... love your vids Tucker! You inspired me to fly! I was 55 at the time! I bought a fresh breeze skip one with a Simonini motor, power atlas wing, I sold it and bought a weight shift trike! Love flying! Still in training.. but I have 6.5 hours... thank you young man! Your a good kid! 👊👊
science out there On the positive side, Hurricanes also help the environment, they flush out lagoons and move sediment into water, which revitalizes areas. Hurricanes erode beaches and yet at the same time the ocean floor gets built up.
This reminds me of a long ride on my Harley. I got rained on coming back to Jacksonville Florida from South Carolina and until I dried out, I was shivering the whole time even though it was the middle of the summer. Teeth chattering, arms shaking, ect. I finally dried off and then the sun was baking me and I wished I had some more rain. It was so damn hot. I have also taken a leak while riding a Harley. It's an interesting task and I don't recommend trying it. I'm right handed but that's also the throttle hand. I couldn't let go of the throttle so using my non dominant hand to manage everything else was ... difficult. I had to hold the bottle with two fingers and ...everything else with ... Well. It was just difficult.
@@selfishteammate Oh. Why didn't I think of that! That's brilliant. I could just... Pull over. lol Just kidding, man. It's a good point but where's the fun in that? lol Plus, I was with a large group. I didn't know where we were. I didn't want to get lost and I didn't want to have to stop the whole convoy just for me. I was new to this group and wanted to prove I could tough it out, ect. It was silly. But I managed it.
I've had to land my PPC with a full bladder.... very distracting. Second time to watch this video. Takes a lot of nerve to fly such long distances over water. I honestly don't think I could do it.
i so want to get a paramotor. you make it look so easy with your endless adventures. Good to see someone living life doing what you want and having fun at the same time. living the dream! Thanks for the inspiration. so glad i stumbled onto your channel. Take Care
I'm looking at buying an entry level paraglider if you're still interested? I know of anybody else except my wife that's interested lol so feel free to check me out on F.B. or something we can share knowledge. Always down for another friend. It's been a year I know but if you are still into it. Let me know brother.
Loved this video. I’m sitting here in on the west coast of Florida sheltering some friends from West Palm due to the hurricane Dorian which just devastated the Bahamas. I’m literally sitting here watching your video and at the same time seeing the devastation on the weather channel. I could not even imagine going through a 185 mph storm for 40 hours which they did. I have gone through many storms including Irma 2 years ago but it was 135 mph and my house was built for it. I would encourage you to do a follow up to this video in maybe a year, giving them time to recover. Safe flying.
I like the fact that you always prone a safe landing in calm wind over a landing that will save you some walking in a littld more sketchy area to land ! And even though you know you could probably clear it no problem with your experience ! You still prioritize safety over laziness 🤙🔥
Don't forget that it was a 3 step takeoff with assistance at sea level so pretty easy even with ~30lbs extra to carry. Hard would be a nil wind take-off anywhere inland at altitude.
