Join me for a few Peaceful Moments watching the Solemn Changing of the Guard at the Royal Palace in Madrid, Spain.
The guard is routinely changed on Wednesdays and Saturdays at The Royal Palace. However, on the first Wednesday of every month, there is a Solemn Changing of the Guard ceremony which is quite the event with a military band, plenty of horses and even canons.
I was fortunate enough to be in Madrid on the first Wednesday of July to witness this event on a beautiful day which was also incredibly hot. Well worth it - highly recommended if you like this sort of thing.
