I just love to hear you tell stories, but mice drive me crazy. We lived in a very old farmhouse when I was a girl, and my mom would scream if she saw a mouse. Dad would set traps and we'd hear them snap when the mouse was caught. One day, a big orange tabby cat came up the drive. We didn't recognize him, but he seemed too tame and healthy to be a stray. We fed him and he stayed. That was the end of our mice!

I put some organic cantalope seeds in a container on my patio table to dry before I went to bed last night. Well, this morning every seed was opened and empty, all across the whole table. I saw the mouse turds, so I know the culprit. Cantalope is quite fragrant. Hahaa

I quite am not in a "peppy mood" i like being in one, whenever I listen to her cause she make me crack up, not literally pls don't misunderstand me hehh so. I am not sure to continue listening tonight or save for 2morrow. I'm just so curious about the story. Why does mouse rhyme with house. I think that's the problem, they're too smart; they know cause their name isn't marden, but mouse; they must come in the house. Anyhow. Ok' I'll watch, I made myself laugh and I feel a bit better heh. btw, beautiful earrings Granny Pat; love how she always matches.

Loved your story about a mouse in the house.. I never leave doors open as I couldn't cope with a mouse in the house. I'm also scared of snakes coming inside so the doors are kept shut. I made my hubby put wire doors on every external door to which there are 7. Every window has fly wire on them so no flies welcome either . If a fly accidentally comes in while walking inside I chase the little blighters down. Unfortunately we do get spiders so I suck them up the vacuum and put the vessel outside until hubby can empty it. I have a fear of all those creepy crawling things. But your story had me laughing as I could relate to them all. Keep your storytelling coming as I love listening. You are as sharp as a tac and very witty. Love to watch you sweet lady.❤

I really enjoyed this, like u I want no part of mice. Surprised u killed the two, why didnt u just drag garbage can further away & dump them out. At one time I lived close to a field & a big possum' had got in garbage can in garage & couldn't get out so I just grabbed handle & drug to field & dumped him out. I could tell stories of herding possum' out if garage or running from skunks, didnt know I could run so fast. Lol Or mama raccoon & babies. All fun memories. But mice & snakes are on my "hell" no list😸

I just love hearing your stories & how tickled you get. My sister would occasionally have to put steak & tater (that is what she called them) traps down to get rid of mice. I never had to worry about mice but my cat once left me one in my slipper as a present. And once in one of the apartments I lived in where the garbage containers were kept in the ground outside our building, I lifted the lid to see 2 raccoons staring at m; so cute. I dropped the lid. Please tell us more of the group who wear clothes from the past; maybe show pictures if possible. I used to collect Victorian outfits & dresses from the 40s. Even took them to Paris with me where I celebrated my 40th birthday. Thanks for sharing Granny Pat.

Good evening to you from here in New Brunswick Canada. I so love your stories. Here we are on a welcomed rainy night. Our well is happy. Our trees and grass and farms are happy. // Mouse story. When my daughter and I moved into this country house (all our homes were in the country), rental, my daughter was only 10. Blonde hair in pictails but in outdoor play clothes ... I tell ya she was our champion mouser. No exaggeration she got 40 mice the very first day/night to next morning. I'd bought 2 dozen mouse traps so the lil brave gal reused them. She flushed several because we had a septic tank and that helps keep the septics work good. But after about 6 of them she had a lil hole outside that she buried them in. // Cat story. Our now grown daughter had 2 cats that kinda favored us when we'd visit. At that time, she had a horse and 2 rotties, so we asked to take the 2 cats with us. They've been a real joy to us. Both have super different personalities. Mr Minew is our tuxedo cat. Very gentle, mannerly, loves cuddles... Miss Trixie is our pink and white pretty girl... I guess her mother was a full feral but our daughter got her as a 3 month young kitten. So, she took a bit more time to relax, but she's a joy too. Minew is our mouser. Trixie, she eat flies, grasshoppers, ... but runs away from earwigs. Haha yup. Anyhoo ... love your videos. Hubby will be home soon so I'm gonna go start supper. Hope you sleep well.

Pat it's hard for me to imagine you going into battle against those pests. But I guess that goes to show you can't judge a book by it's cover. Your furnace mouse story reminded me of an incident Sara and I had many winters ago... I was working 3rd shift in a factory. My foreman got with me around midnight and told me I needed to call home. Of course I was worried about what might be going on. The only other emergency call I ever got from Sara was when our next door neighbor had killed himself. Anyway I made my way to a phone (we had no cell phones back then), and called home. Sara announced to me that the furnace had blown up. Well, I knew that I'd called my own home phone. So I asked if she and the house were ok. She said everything was fine, but that the furnace made a bang and then a squealing noise, so she turned it off. This winter night was very cold, but not snowy. When she got off the phone with me, she and the dog went to sit in her car outside, waiting on me to get home. So I told my foreman there was trouble at home and I needed to go. I knew we had one of those old floor furnaces and that there were no moving parts. As I drove home, I was racking my brain trying to figure out what could be making those noises. I got home and opened the little viewing glass at the top rear of the furnace. With a flashlight I saw what the trouble was. A starling had flown 12 feet down our chimney, and another 8 feet across in the flue pipe, 2 feet THROUGH the flames of the burner and hit the back end of that floor furnace. The "bang" was from the bird hitting the back end of the furnace and the "squealing" was the little guys last sounds before he expired. I used a metal coat hanger and fashions a small hook in the end. After fishing the little bird out by one foot, I had a good laugh. It took Sara a while before she eventually gave the situation a little chuckle. Sorry to be so drawn out, but I'm sure you're familiar with the old style floor furnaces and could see the humor in the lengths that starling went to in order to try and stay warm. Best wishes from Evansville!

I’m a watchin those five cats, tails a twitchin but wouldn’t get it. I grabbed my five gallon crock put it upside down over that mouse so it couldn’t escape. My husband came home eight hours later from work asking why a big crock is upside down in the middle of the parlor. By then thankfully it had died so guessin the cats had played with it first. Nope, I’m with you granny Pat, no mice, bugs, nothin 😂

Your large spider sounds like a Wolf Spider! However I have seen Brown Recluse Spiders that large. YIKES! Here's a little tip. Works great on small to medium spiders. Spray them with Hair Spray. It will gum them up so that they can't run & it is easy to kill them. When I was 30 years old, I weighed 103 pounds, my measurements were 35 1/2 " 22" 36". That only lasted about 5 years. LOL I went from a size 4 to a 7 and thought I was fat. LOL I loved this story. I like All of Your Stories!

My first experience with mice took place when I was a child in the very late 40's or early 50's. We didn't have a working vacuum cleaner so we'd use the "carpet sweeper". (I still have one today.) Well, I guess I was told to carpet sweep the living room and with the first push and pull of the sweeper, a litter of baby mice tumbled out. They looked like teeny baby pigs to me...pink and hairless. My dad opened the sweeper bottom and it was full of shredded papers...no sign of mom though. I didn't hang around to see what Dad did with the litter. I suspect they were flushed down the toilet. YUCK!

My Daughter, Grandson & I moved into this house where I live now, almost 5 years ago. It is a very nice house. It has a half finished basement, The other half, can not be seen because of a concrete wall separating the the finished from the unfinished. One evening right after we moved in, I was in bed & my Grandson came running into my room saying there was a bat in the house. I told him to get the baseball. Well, that made him angry so he ran back to the living room. I got out of bed & my daughter told me there had been a bat flying around & that it had gone to the basement. They were both terrified. LOL So, I got the broom & went to the basement. Sure enough, there it was flying around in circles, I would swing at it every time it came around. I finally knocked it to the floor. My Grandson brought me a jar. I put if over the bat with the broom on top of it, took it outside & turned it loose. There was a lot of screaming. We laugh about it now & they tell me that I am brave. LOL. I think it got in through the unfinished side because there is a hole in it for the water pipes, so I believe it got in there. Never had another pest of Any kind, Thank 'Goodness! LOL I'm, afraid of mice too but mostly spiders. Any kind, Any size.

So I’m looking in the sink, and I’m like “what’s that?” Eek! It’s a dead mouse! The poison makes them thirsty.

I loved these stories so much, you really know how to make me laugh out loud! I don’t like a mouse or mice. We have lived here since 2005 and have had 3 that I can remember come inside. I got my trap out put the bait in it and within 30 minutes or less I hear the trap go pop and bingo it is no longer living. I can just see you with that broom, but was glad to hear you got the two with one brick. Some day I will tell you about my rat snake that is outside, you would flip over it, lol 😂

Living in the country as we do, we frequently have mice…so much so that my husband keeps three mouse traps set all the time. It’s my job to monitor the traps 😱. If we catch one I get the broom and dust pan out…sweep the trap with the caught mouse in the dust pan and set it out on the screen porch until my husband gets home from work. He likes to reuse the traps…yuck…I’m definitely not going to touch it!!! Thankfully I have one of those dust pans with the long handle so I don’t have to bend over to sweep the trap into the dust pan…!!! 🐭🐀. Once in a while we catch a lizard in the one he keeps set on the screen porch!!! I don’t touch it then either!!!! 🦎🦎🦎

I just subscribed to your channel. Great! I want you to know why you couldn't find that big spider. It's because he saw you standing in the middle of the floor 1 hour and he knew you meant business, and he would have been doomed. Why do I know this? Because that BIG BROWN SPIDER was big because he had a big smart spider brain. He stayed hidden.....he knew what he was doing.....that's why you never saw him again!

While driving to work in the dark my husband turned on the dome light to discover a tiny mouse 🐭 looking at him on the dashboard hahaha. What did he do? He smiled and said hello your so cute! I would be in the ditch because I would have screamed and ran off the road. Love your stories♥️

Hi Pat, Very funny mouse stories and I hear you about the spider hiding somewhere. Your imagination can go wild thinking of where is that spider? lol I am with you I would be standing on a chair if i saw a mouse. Funny they are more afraid of us than we are of them, ( not !) lol keep telling us your stories as we love them. Your voice is the best story teller I have ever heard.Do you have a dvd player? we could send you some movies to watch. I have a copy of somewhere in time you might like? ttyl
