the beard and stache you sported at around the 1:30 mark made you look more mature. I do like this project but I think the bulb is to bright, at least on vdo, I think Id like a dimmer option for both the lamp and leds

dang those are huge clamps! I only have the small and next size up versions of those, not even sure they offer them anywhere here, going to have to look now LOL. XD

interesting I figured you would use a step down insert that has external and internal threading so it could be threaded into the spark plug hole's threads and then thread the tube the wiring goes through into the internal threads, (I have some of that tubing here from a job fixing lighting fixtures in the house, pretty easy to use, and not too spendy even with it being a smaller hardware store ie ace hardware vs the big box (lowes and home depot is what we have here mostly) and they have all the finger knurled nuts that act like washer/nut combo to tighten the tube down to various things, all those made of solid brass, so it can hide the zinc plated steel tubes for the lighting fixtures LOL. (I believe they use these on table lamps a lot too here) on the LEDs I think they need a bit of cooling when running continuously like say as nightlights when the main portion of the lamp is off or something, personally I would have used some aluminum with the polished shiny side facing down and ran it across the bottom of the floating bit onto the pedestal block you wrapped the LEDs on, and then put the LEDs on that, so it can pull some of the heat and have a much larger area to dissipate the heat from the LEDs, though even that might not be enough, (could be a good use though for a thermal conductive glue made from the stuff that rob has been making various stuff like paint and thermal paste and what not, from graphene and such LOL. Might be something to try if the LEDs start burning out early because of heat building up. If its decently cool or you put a dimmer option for night time use after all then that may not even be an issue, Just a thought though for the future.

I think that some (fake) wiring to those spark plugs might have added to the effect, but, that being said; great job, thanks for all the great videos, merry Yuletide and happy New Year, and I'm looking forward to your coming productions !

Now , if you sre already famous , s say you're an actor for example like Sylvester Stallone, then all your artworks find ready buyers . The floating illusion is good . There's an option to add extra goodies like a clock , securiry camera ...thermometer. Ooh ooh how about ..say incorporating a Nicola tesla type spark generator ( you already have one coil ) to zap pesky insects and the dead insects would then fall into an aquarium to feed exotic fish . That facial hair seemed a good look , perfect for a post nascent beatnik revival to spawn the New Beatles . Have a decent Christmas day .

Awesome Project. But in terms or fabrication, I think you "built the middle of the bridge first" Cut and glue the base pieces first, then drill and counter sink for attaching the motor. Maybe put some routes to chase the wiring you want to hide with the rubber mat.

Nice. When I first saw this i hoped it had no power plug. Just some other kind of fuel. Gasoline or diesel or wax or something. Not so easy. But neat job nevertheless.

Please excuse me because I could be wrong here, but I think you may just have created a death trap. It looks as though you have use 2 core cable (L&N) for the lamp in the engine block and not 3 core (L,N &E). Since there appears to be no earth connection to any of the metal work on the lamp body it could potentially become live under fault conditions. Extraneous metal parts MUST be earthed..............That's unless you are trying yo get rid of your father-in-law :-)

Change to 3 core buddy, metal needs to be earthed. Where all growing and learning everyday. One Love

Steampunk appears to be an art movement, like cubism , surrealism , art- deco , modernism , post-modernism .....steampunk is clearly a perfect artistic endeavour for the science type mind .
