Inspirational stuff as always. I managed to catch the speaker and feel dumb because I never received a notification 5 hours before when you posted it lol

Nice work Rob! Love your work as always! Could you do an instructional on how to make a proper Cymascope to see sound? I have been wanting to build one where you can hook up multiple speakers and see frequency combinatins...

There is a company that sells some sort of microscope like this with a smaller glass bead. The lens is a sphere and the smaller, the more magnification, but the closer you have to lean on the glass bead. Almost touching it with your very eyeball. You can distinguish the cells of the thin skin layer of an onion...

Nice explanation, I've got to try that! "Antonie van Leeuwenhoek" is pronounced as "ANN-toe-nee vahn LAY-when-hook" in English. Literally Anthony of Lions' Corner!

There's a good little lens inside an old cd rom and some little mirrors too.they have good magnification for such a small lens.

did you know the egyptians use to use a drop of water as a measuring device, it was said that one drop of water was 1cm and all measurements derived from there. before that it was a king foot which differed down to different kings, due to the size of their feet.

I bet you could put a bit of conductive ink around the hole, and have a similar structure above it, allowing you to use electrostatics to alter the shape of the drop.

That reminds me of a project to provide these as kits to remote clinics. I think they also were sending kits to modify the classic "paper spinner" as a centrifuge to separate blood. The name doesn't come to mind but I'll see if I can look it up.

I wonder if I can make a serier of these pinhole water lenses to make an even stronger microscope, like the one data did in the star trek tng episode entitled: " Thine Own Self".

Pretty clever you can do that out in the jungle and you didn't have no microscope

Could you use this to show the structure of different carbons? It would be interesting to see the difference in structure before and after activation. Also, could you use this to test/price when you've made graphene?

When you look at the birth of most technology you often find such simple methods that gave the tech it's astonishing usefulness. I often wondered what gave birth to the microscope, makes me want to look into the birth of the telescope 🔭

You could have very easily shown some red blood cells, if only you had a source for them. (Tongue in cheek)
