It’s good to see these are good performers. The factory HIDs are weak plus the color temp doesn’t match the factory led fog lights. Even with the price of these, it seems like a good upgrade.

Looks great! For those with factory HIDs, couple of questions: 1) Headlight washers, do these incorporate with the factory setup? 2) Self leveling, I assume the dont make use of factory self leveling. But will they cause a dipped headlight code? Can you link the fog light bulb you mention? 🙂

Correct, washers can be transferred over. They will not swivel left and right but from what Morimoto tells me, you will not have a code. I will update the listing with the fogs.

Greetings, what is the best 35w xenon for my 2020 Hyundai Elantra (9005 size projector high/low)? I want the highest output and lowest current draw ballast, so I am thinking to get Hylux 2A88 35w ballast. Do you think this is the best option? Also, should i have wire harness for xenon, or I can safely plug it in directly to my car?

Hylux / Morimoto is a great option. No need for any extra wiring. It’s plug and plug.

Same as stock. You can insert the Philips head screw driver from the top with the hood open.

These are full housing replacements. They have all their own modules attached/included. So you can have fully non function original headlights, and these will work perfectly.

Do you have aftermarket rear LED bulbs? Could be the reason. Haven't had any issues with these at all.

I never saw an aftermarket light housing that purposely did not fit in the opening before. How bizarre. Maybe it would look good on a black Jeep. The output looks great though!

Are you referring to the black trim piece in the lower center ? It’s just a design change. I think the 14-16 had a straight bottom and the 17-22 has the little kink at the bottom. Factory lights have the trim piece too on newer ones.

@@LightwerkzGlobal Yeah that area towards the inside/bottom with the flimsy looking black plastic pieces. It's just interesting, I never saw that before. But now that I look up more about the Grand Cherokee, I can see that this is more normal across the range. It just caught me by surprise. But I love learning new stuff! Thanks for sharing.

That black trim piece is actually how the 14-16' grand cherokees were designed. They came with 2 headlight options, the low budget halogen option(the vehicle in this video) and the upgraded bi xenon version, which used the same bumper but a different shaped housing like in the video. They got fancy with it and that trim piece actually hid a pop out headlight washer.

So you can maximize output to the right side of the road without blinding oncoming traffic. The "step" or "slope" in a projector beam is a standard feature in all projectors made to be used for low beams. However not all projectors are using a clear lens so its not as obvious. Its more gradual on OEM setups.

The HIDs have a near perfect rating from IIHS. The only thing bringing down the score is it creates 69% glare when you’re turning right. These would be a downgrade compared to the stock HIDs

I base my feedback off experience working with many Jeep Grand Cherokees over the years. The Valeo projectors in the stock HID lights are very notorious for projector bowl burn and they lose intensity. Valeo is your bottom of the barrel projector. It's not even close comparison. The Morimoto's are superior in every way.

I just bought a ‘21 with the factory HID/LED package, and bought these Morimotos for a swap. Out of curiosity, I bought a lux meter and compared before and after. Morimoto numbers (935 lo, 1351 hi) were basically twice the output of HID (415 lo, 719 hi). For me it was a huge upgrade over HID.

Make sure to turn off your factory DRL on the dash inside the car. The DRL runs through low beams so thats why your 3 projectors are on. This is outlined in the Morimoto install guide.
