❤How are you? What do you think of these habits? 😊 What cultural differences have you noticed when traveling abroad? Here are the 14 cultural differences I have noticed about us: 1. Sauna at airport 2. Wearing same brands 3. Wool socks 4. Grateful for sunshine 5. Practical 6. Neutral facial expressions 7. Oat milk 8. Tipping 9. Diet 10. Apologizing 11. Tap water 12. Recycling 13. Silence 14. Alone time
Another lovely, calm video. We have travelled to all of the Nordic countries and I agree with your observations. We were amused by the way the Swedes moved their chairs around the deck of our ferry to follow the Sun. And I have noticed the neutral facial expressions a lot too, quite the opposite of us outgoing and friendly Australians, we tend to smile and laugh a lot. 😃
I’m Australian and have a lot of the same traits, even though they are not so common here. The need to pace oneself and enjoy a little quiet is essential to me. Thanks for your beautiful filmwork.
What a pleasant surprise for me. As soon as I saw your country of destination, I thought it looked familiar, particularly the Hungarian Parliament and Hungarian books in the Cafe/Library you were in. I'm a Hungarian living in Australia, I feel so proud that you chose to visit my country/culture. I hope you had a good time. We, cat lovers, always find a cat to pat, anywhere in the world. I bet you were remembering Kuro. ❤
I love your culture. Seems so calm and peaceful. I enjoy learning about people in other countries, and I’m learning alot about the lovely Nordic people from your videos. ❤️
Yes having visited Nordic countries I noticed this a lot recently brands. This was many years ago but in Sweden Stockholm when I visited the theatre a lot of Swedish people where dressed in black. Of course this may have changed now. I love the Nordic people and your way of life. Thank you for taking us along on your travel plan. Another vote for oat milk. Your airports are very beautiful. We brits are like this always saying sorry lol. I agree about your tap water no need to buy bottled water. I have always found the Nordic people I have met to be very polite and helpful. Reserved yes but very nice people. Enjoy your break love to kitty 🐈⬛ on your return ☺️
I'm extremely envious of your gorgeous buildings in your downtown areas. I live in a town in Southeastern Ontario, Canada and OMG the downtown is soo ugly - we have had many fires downtown because its an old town with old buildings but instead of trying to make nice new buildings, they leave us with ugly square concrete facades that have NO character at all. As a result not many people use the downtown except the people who live there and poor souls who are down and out....I wish we could have had more foresight to build a downtown people would flock to - instead we leave our town and go to other places to shop and eat. Lovely vid, I think I would love Finland very much.
A chandelier at the airport cafe - really?! That is fancy! I'm glad you told us Kuro is with a friend. You know we would have asked. I like so many things that you mention. I love the long wool socks you wear in the house. I've heard that Nordic people tend to be stoic, not showing their emotions. Do you think that's true and that's why the straight face?
Yes, a chandelier at the airport café 😄 Definitely added a touch of elegance to the space! It’s true that we tend to be a bit more reserved and don’t always show our emotions openly. I think it’s just a cultural thing, being calm and keeping things understated. The straight face probably reflects that, but we definitely smile and laugh, especially when we’re with those we care about. 😊❤️
Hi I just love watching your content you always spur me on to do something lol I must have Nordic blood in me somewhere because I have many of your traits, like having time alone, eating in silence & always saying sorry even if it's not my fault 😅
In Oregon (USA) we have had a bottle law for as long as I can remember. It now includes cans and plastic bottles for beverages. Are your children grown up and live on their own?
I thought Nordic countries consumed lots of cheeses and milks from various animals? Funny they are lactose intolerant if so. I come from a very large, loud Italian family, I don’t think we could go more than 3 minutes of siting in silence at the dinner table, although I would like that! 😅
That’s true, we do eat a lot of cheese and milk, but many producers add a lactose enzyme to break down the lactose, making it easier to digest. This way, even those who are lactose intolerant can enjoy their favourite dairy products without any issues. 😊 These products are labeled as 'lactose-free,' and even most restaurant buffets offer lactose-free options because there’s such a high demand for them.
