Prada has always seemed too 'powdery' for me but it's been a while since I had it. However I can tell you this, there is a brand literally called "Clean" and you want to get the "classic pure soap" one. Meet your new king of soap for your collection. It's kinda the tomahawk missile of soap fragrances imo. It's unisex.
Great video. A lot of new frangrances to discover. I like soapy fragrances. I am usually after those that smell like the most luxury laundry detergent ever (in a positive way). Blanche from Byredo, Aqua Universalis EDP from MFK are like that for me. Quercus cologne from Penhaligon's also have this laundry type of feel. Makes you feel clean, fresh and airy.
I'm a fan of clean and soapy fragrances. I recently bought Marseille after hearing you talk about it. It's a wonderful soapy experience, thanks for recommending it. Ignacio Figueras Palm Beach is another great clean fragrance featuring orange blossom and neroli.
Petit Matin is a dream! Just added it to my collection. I don’t get soapy from it but it is definitely fresh and clean. I was in need of a scent to wear when exercising (yoga, dance, running) and this is it. I get whiffs of it as I move and it’s never overwhelming like a sweet scent would be, and although I love gourmands, they gross me out in a hot and sticky environment, so this one is excellent. I smell like I just got out of the shower even though I’ve been sweating 😅
Yes, I was really looking forward to this video. Clean and soapy is my go to as the weather warms up. I scooped up Comme Des Garcons Marseille last week and I love it! I also love Parle moi de Parfum Tomboy Neroli for a clean soapy frag.
Wow Sebastian, I’m noticing Neroli and Orange Blossom are notes in clean and soapy fragrances. Both are in my top 5 notes. Thanks for educating us on notes.
I love the soapy fresh types of scents, along with just good hygiene, these fragrances just make you feel happy and confident. My favorite of your list is Nishane Colognise
Would love it if you would mention if scents lean male or female on a more consistent basis. Hearing about the notes alone or if it’s “perfect for the office” isn’t enough information to discern which gender these scents are intended for. It would help guide my purchases (via your links).
It's for you to judge if they lean femme or masculine. Most of the fragrances are very unisex to me and are targeted unisex except for ones that are targeted specifically for a specific gender. I try and make sure I feature all or most unisex scents.
Love this list! I’m intrigued by Penhaligon’s Castile in particular. I’m digging old school Gendarme right now…late to the club on this one but I love it! Can’t wait to someday visit you for a consultation…brilliant idea!

Thankyou, Sebastion, for this video of soapy frags. I fell in love with a very basic liquid hand soap from the Target brand, Method Handwash Vetiver & Amber (in black metal container jar), and i've been trying to find the closest frag to it. Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Smells pretty soapy to me, and close to the Method hand soap. I was beginning to think that vetiver had to be in a soapy frag. I do like all vetivers, dirty ones & clean, but the clean ones smell more elegant to me and more versatile & pratical. I noticed that most of the frags on your video do not have vetiver, so that is interesting to me. I will have to try some of them. Thanks again.
I bought a sample of Marseilles. I was so hoping to like this because i love soapy fragrances, but after my first wearing I immediately knew that ambroxan would dominate the fragrance. I own Escentric Molecule's Molecule 02 and Marseilles is just a subtly soapier version of M02. I think Iso e super would have been better fixative than ambroxan because it's more neutral smelling.
When I saw the title of this video I immediately thought Cacharel pour homme. When I wore it people would always wonder what the soap smell was. I never made the connection and would sometimes look around for open or spilled soap bottles.
L'heure Bleue, I like this one alot. I've heard Queen Elizabeth like this one as well. I was just sniffing my bottle I've had for many years. This can smell so amazing when done right, don't overspray!
aka, the office-friendly list. 😄 Despite Prada being well known for their soapy options, The Impudent Cousin Matthew is still my favourite soapy scent! 🌿 Green, grainy, a definite no-brainy. 🤭
I think I know only two from your list: Petit matin and Sundazed, but I don't particularly like any of them. If I had to pick something that makes me feel clean, I'd go with something like Aqua universalis/forte, Nuda veritas, Champs de Provence or even Eau des sens. Great video as always and you nailed the pronunciation for Muschio bianco!
L’Heure Bleue is my signature fragrance. Thank You for mentionning it today. Another good powdery, light amber and a tad green is Eau d’Hiver Frederic Malle. Great video.

Great selection Sebastian! Castile is a zone in Spain, not a city. There are two states (comunidades) that share the name (Castilla - La Mancha y Castilla - León)

Good evenig Sebastian! Thanks for the vid! I also have a question, maybe you know more about it! Here in The Netherlands lately it has become difficult to find Tom Fords Grey Vetiver. We bought a bottle today, it was the last one in the store and in about 5 or 6 stores and online we can not buy it anymore. You have any idea why? Also, we have heard today that several ingredients have been put on the black list and the fragrances containing it are stopped to be sold. Hopefully you know more about this, we would like to hear. Excellent list! Have never smelled Dunhill Century, will probably blind buy it since I have not seen it anywhere in person. Mugler Cologne definitely one of my favorite easy going scents, and the CdG Marseille intrigues me, will try to smell it soon.
😂 my thing was to open the fabric softeners and shampoo. This type of fragrance I use when I stay home after I take a shower, I dont use if I have plans to go outside the house 😆
Colognes The Baron and Claiborne for Men have been two soapy/clean favorites of mine in the past. I"ve recently purchased both and have realized both scents are completely different from the past. Can you explain why this would be?
Sadly misses out on the whole Prada Infusion line, which is basically the video title embodied and not very expensive either. Infusion de Vetiver and Infusion d'Iris Cedre especially. Far more than Prada amber pour homme (which is still great) or even Prada l'homme (also excellent).
Recently received Aldheyx 10ml travel size. When you get into dry cleaner and that hot aldehydic steam hits you in a face, that’s what this perfume (if one can call it perfume to begin with) smells like. Extremely linear, totally beast mode, you need like to scrub yourself with Brillo to get rid of this stench. To each his own.
Marseille is soooooooooooooooo good. Jabon de Marsella in Spanish. Very common scent additive in a lot of products here in Spain. ''Castile'' is an anglicization of ''Castilla'', which is the name of 2 autonomous regions of Spain. As in ''Castilla la Mancha'' and ''Castilla y Leon'''. ''Castile'' soap was traditionally made with olive oil.

Hey Sebastian. Great video as always. Love me a good clean soapy fragrance. Have a quick question that I think you would the one person in the world I could ask, I’m setting up my fragrance collection in my new home soon and I wanted your advice. I was planning to have the whole thing backlit just to snazz it up. Do you think this may affect the perfumes longevity? I don’t plan to keep the lights on all time only in the evenings on an auto timer for about four or five hours a day. I’d be much obliged for your thoughts on the same.

Do you know if there's a fragrance similar to the LA Looks hair gel (drugstore middle school blue gel)? I think you had mentioned that "blue" fragrances had a hair gel quality, and it'd be interesting to hear more
Probably not on your radar because it's very very cheap, but Jovan White Musk for Men (1992) epitomizes out-of-shower clean, but not in the modern "bloo joose" showergel way.
@rubyrayne8 It's chypre... Cypress is the literal translation from French, yet it implies a particular profile in perfumery, or recipe used to achieve a particular type of complex scent. It is best understood as a layered combination of both woody and warm notes, and fresh top notes.
Ya, i know what you mean. I don't own any scents that fall under this genre. But I've been quite curious about this scent, and the Bubble Bath by MM seems interesting to me....as does CdG Marseille...I'll go sniff Bubble Bath and make an order for a sample of Marseille to see if i like it
@@PrairieGirlio A bit of lavender after the initial opening and a coconuttiness in the drydown. I don't find either dominate though, to me it is a burst of bergamot drying down to a soapy, but creamy musk
I can't remember but according to the internet dove soap smells like this: white flowers, rose, lily of the valley, and Tunisian sandalwood ... it's been a while since I took a whiff so I will have to check it out. But try some of these soapy scents. Get some samples maybe something might strike you as being similar. Maybe try Marseille. It's quite soapy! :)
